The Effectiveness of Metacognitive Instruction Model on the Changes of Molecular Concepts (초인지 수업모형이 초등학생들의 분자개념 변화에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the effectiveness of metacognitive instruction model on the changes of science concepts, when it was applied to 6th grade students. To do this, students were tested with the achievement of molecules and molecular motion concepts and metacognitive self-regulation test as a pretest Based upon metacognitive instruction model and student's conception, instruction program were developed. This metacognitive strategy Program was applied to the experimental group and expository teaching was applied to the comparison group (followed the order and method in authorized science textbook and teachers handbook). When planned lessons were finished, students were given a post-test to find conceptual change. After six months students were given a test again to find retention effect. There was a significant difference in conceptual change and retention between comparison group and experimental group by treatment at p< .05 level, The difference between comparison group and experimental group was especially significant, when the situation of test item wasn't similar to that of the textbook Metacognitive instruction model was more effective to high group than low group in metacognitive self-regulation level on conceptual change and retention. So the metacognitive strategy Played an important role in conceptual change and retention. And we can recognize that the students who take part in the metacognitive lesson can apply the corrected concept to the other concrete situation because they can understand new concept accurately by metacognitive strategies. And we can guess that high group in metacognitive self-regulation level can team metacognitive strategy easily but relatively low group student have some trouble in learning new strategy.

Abnormal Crowd Behavior Detection via H.264 Compression and SVDD in Video Surveillance System (H.264 압축과 SVDD를 이용한 영상 감시 시스템에서의 비정상 집단행동 탐지)

  • In this paper, we propose a prototype system for abnormal sound detection and identification which detects and recognizes the abnormal situations by means of analyzing audio information coming in real time from CCTV cameras under surveillance environment. The proposed system is composed of two layers: The first layer is an one-class support vector machine, i.e., support vector data description (SVDD) that performs rapid detection of abnormal situations and alerts to the manager. The second layer classifies the detected abnormal sound into predefined class such as 'gun', 'scream', 'siren', 'crash', 'bomb' via a sparse representation classifier (SRC) to cope with emergency situations. The proposed system is designed in a hierarchical manner via a mixture of SVDD and SRC, which has desired characteristics as follows: 1) By fast detecting abnormal sound using SVDD trained with only normal sound, it does not perform the unnecessary classification for normal sound. 2) It ensures a reliable system performance via a SRC that has been successfully applied in the field of face recognition. 3) With the intrinsic incremental learning capability of SRC, it can actively adapt itself to the change of a sound database. The experimental results with the qualitative analysis illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method.

The Effects of Tasks Setting for Mathematical Modelling in the Complex Real Situation (실세계 상황에서 수학적 모델링 과제설정 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of tasks setting for mathematical modelling in the complex real situations. The tasks setting(MMa, MeA) in mathematical modelling was so important that we can't ignore its effects to develop meaning and integrate mathematical ideas. The experimental setting were two groups ($N_1=103$, $N_2=103$) at public high school and non-experimental setting was one group($N_3=103$). In mathematical achievement, we found meaningful improvement for MeA group on modelling tasks, but no meaningful effect on information processing tasks. The statistical method used was ACONOVA analysis. Beside their achievement, we were much concerned about their modelling approach that TSG21 had suggested in Category "Educational & cognitive Midelling". Subjects who involved in experimental works showed very interesting approach as Exploration, analysis in some situation ${\Rightarrow}$ Math. questions ${\Rightarrow}$ Setting models ${\Rightarrow}$ Problem solution ${\Rightarrow}$ Extension, generalization, but MeA group spent a lot of time on step: Exploration, analysis and MMa group on step, Setting models. Both groups integrated actively many heuristics that schoenfeld defined. Specially, Drawing and Modified Simple Strategy were the most powerful on approach step 1,2,3. It was very encouraging that those experimental setting was improved positively more than the non-experimental setting on mathematical belief and interest. In our school system, teaching math. modelling could be a answer about what kind of educational action or environment we should provide for them. That is, mathematical learning.

구제역 백신의 특성과 올바른 사용방법

  • 최근의 구제역 발생은 발생규모와 확산속도 면에서 과거에 우리가 경험했던 구제역과는 확연하게 달랐다. 수 많은 가축을 매몰하고, 그 동안의 모든 방역경험을 다 쏟아 부었지만 구제역의 확산속도는 수그러들지 않았다. 그러한 상황에서 더 이상의 가축의 희생을 줄이고, 축산업 자체의 붕괴를 막기 위하여 전국적인 긴급 예방접종은 불가피한 선택이었다고 생각한다. 다행스럽게도 전국적인 긴급 예방접종 이후 단기간에 구제역의 발생은 급격하게 감소되었고, 현재는 임상증상을 나타내는 발생은 거의 자취를 감추었다. 그러나 발생 감소와는 상관없이 앞으로도 당분간은 정기적인 예방접종이 지속될 전망이다. 첫째, 내적으로는 아직도 바이러스 전파원이 될 수 있는 잠복감염 가축(즉 캐리어)이 남아있을 수 있기 때문이며, 둘째, 외적으로는 우리나라 주변국에서 구제역의 발생이 지속되고 있는 상황에서 언제라도 새로운 구제역 바이러스가 국내에 유입될 수 있기 때문이다. 따라서 당분간은 철저한 예방접종을 통하여 구제역이 발병, 확산되지 않도록 하여야 한다. 구제역과 같은 전염병의 확산을 막기 위해서는 감수성이 있는 가축집단에 일정수준의 면역이 유지되어야 하는데, 질병 역학자들은 집단 내 80% 이상의 개체가 면역이 되어야 한다고 한다. 그런데 구제역 예방접종 이후 소는 항체 형성이 잘되는 반면에 돼지는 항체 형성률이 낮게 나타난다는 양돈농가의 호소가 이어지고 있다. 이에 따라 방역당국과 양돈협회에서는 올바른 예방접종 요령에 대한 홍보자료를 작성하여 농가에 배포하고, 전문수의사를 동원한 교육을 계획하고 있다. 본고에서는 구제역 예방접종의 효과를 높이고, 접종 부작용을 줄이기 위하여 어떻게 백신을 관리하고 접종해야 하는지 상세하게 알아보고자 한다.

The Effects of Consumers' Delight on the Loyalty in Service Encounter Situation (서비스인카운트 상황에서 소비자의 감동이 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • Customer delight is critical to firm's success in today's competitive environment. This importance has led marketing scholars and practitioners to recommend that firms improve their customers' delight because it is a key to customer loyalty. However, researchers and practitioners have also begun to express concern on the process that underlies customers' delight-loyalty relationship. The purpose of this paper is to investigate this question: 'Does it really matter that firms delight to their customers to achieve greater customer loyalty?' The results from one experiment using a scenario method and the data collected by questionnaire real that delighted customers(offered an unexpected gift) were significantly more warmth, joy and loyalty than satisfied respondents(offered a free gift). The warmth dimension of delight influenced positively on loyalty in satisfied customer group. In delighted customer group, both warmth and joy influenced positively on loyalty.

Investigation of 'Group Scientific Creativity' Factors in Gifted Students' Creative Project Solving Context (영재학생들의 창의적 문제해결상황에서 집단 과학창의성 영향요인 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study is to select the factors of 'Group scientific creativity' and to find out how 'Group scientific creativity' turns out in the creative problem-solving process of students. To select the factors that affect 'Group scientific creativity', this research extracted 27 influencing factors on the group creativity from the prior study and organized them according to opinions of education experts. To select factors that affect 'Group scientific creativity' in the creative problem-solving process of students, this research analyzed the group problem-solving process that has been done on 72 gifted students for two days. Main results of the study is as follows: First, nine elements such as scientific thinking, scientific knowledge, scientific information-processing capacity, motivation, challenge, age and gender, existence of diversity, creativity educational experience, and the group cohesiveness were selected as human factors. Four elements such as scientific communication skills, scientific inquiry process, autonomy, and leadership were selected as the combining factors. Also, three elements such as the learning environment, teacher types, and compensation were selected as the Environmental factors. Second, it was possible to find that the group scientific creativity influence factors affecting the creative process by analyzing the gifted students in creative-problem solving process. Based on these results, this study described additional points on the factors improving 'Group scientific-creativity.'

  • There have been a great deal of interests in comparing two survival distributins in clinical trials. This paper compares some well-known statistical methods for testing the equality of two survival distributions. Simulation studies also provide some insights into the properties of these test statistics across several types of survival distributions and degrees of censorship.

  • 본 논문에서는 개미 집단 최적화(Ant Colony Optimization, ACO) 알고리즘을 적용한 감속률에 따른 동적 상황인식 경로 선정 방법을 제안한다. 최근 ITS(Intelligent Transportation Systems)의 개발과 함께 차량용 내비게이션의 실시간 교통 정보를 이용하는 수요가 급증하면서, 경로탐색의 중요성이 더욱 가속화되고 있다. 현재 차량용 내비게이션은 멀티미디어 및 정보통신 기술의 결합과 함께 다양한 기능 및 정보를 사용자에게 제공하고 있으며, 이러한 경로탐색 알고리즘은 교통시스템, 통신 네트워크, 운송 시스템 등 다양한 분야에 적용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 감속률에 따른 동적 상황인식 경로 선정 방법을 제안함으로써, 최단 시간 및 최소 비용의 정보를 제공해 줄 뿐만 아니라 교통정체로 인한 사회적 비용 감소의 효과를 가져다 줄 것으로 기대한다.

Differences in Obedience to Authority between Authoritarians and Non-authoritarians: in Three Authority-level Situations (권위주의적인 사람은 항상 권위에 복종적일까?: 권위주의 성격에 따른 권위관계 상황별 복종의 차이)

  • Existing studies show that authoritarians are obedient to the powerful even though they are coercive to the weak. However, the personal relationships are very diverse even in the range of the authority relations. The purpose of this study is to explain the differences in the obedience to authority between authoritarians and non-authoritarians in some situations which have different authority-levels. This study presumed that obedience to authority is affected by their own authoritarianism. For this study, four scenarios were used to provide subjects with the situations that are different in the strength of authority. And the results demonstrated that people behave differently according to the level of authority. The result showed that in the low-authority situation authoritarians tend to obey less to the authorities than non-authoritarians. This result is different from existing ones. It follows from what has been said that the loss of authority in Korea partially comes from the double standard of the authoritarians according to the strength of authority.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of need for closure on college students' problem recognition and communication behavior. Specifically, this research examined differences about situation recognitions and communication behaviors across level of need for closure factors (preference for order and structure, preference for predictability, decisiveness, discomfort with ambiguity, closed-mindeness). The results show that the participants with higher level of discomfort with ambiguity and low level of closed-mindeness are more likely to high problem recognition, constraint recognition, involvement recognition, and doing active communication behaviors.
