This is a qualitative review of research literature on the expertise of science teachers. The study first identified a common point of view which the relevant literature shared about teacher expertise. Research methods employed in previous studies were then categorized into four groups, and the characteristics of each group of research methods were discussed. The groups of research methods included uses of questionnaires and interviews, visual representations, classroom observations and discourse analyses, and narrative inquiry. The study finally suggested what aspects of science teachers' expertise should be considered and what sorts of research methods could be employed for future research in this area.
Purpose : To assess the prevalence and characteristics of headache comorbidity with epilepsy in children and adolescents in a specialty epilepsy clinic. Methods : Two hundred twenty nine consecutive patients attending the Chosun University Hospital Pediatric Epilepsy Clinic (mean age $10.0{\pm}4.1\;years$, range 4-17, M:F ratio 1.1:1.0) were interviewed with a standardized headache questionnaire. Headache was classified according to the International Classification of Headache Disorders, 2nd Edition and epilepsy was classified according to the International League Against Epilepsy. Disability was assessed using pediatric migraine disability assessment (PedMIDAS). Results : Of the 229 epilepsy patients, 86 (37.6%) had co-morbid headache. Of the headache patients, 64 (74.4%) had migraine (65.6%- migraine without aura, 20.3% - migraine with aura, 14.1% - probable migraine). The mean headache frequency was $7.2{\pm}8.4$ per month, mean duration was $2.2{\pm}4.0$ hours, mean severity was $5.2{\pm}2.2$ out of 10, and mean PedMIDAS score was $13.0{\pm}35.4$. The proportion of females was not higher in epilepsy with headache patients (48.8%) compared to epilepsy patients alone (48.0%). In the patients with migraine, 48.4% had complex partial seizures, 17.2% had simple partial seizures, and 34.4% had generalized seizures (P=0.368). A postictal association of migraine was reported in 18.8% with 17.2% reporting a preictal headache, and 7.8% reporting an ictal headache. Conclusion : The prevalence of headache in pediatric epilepsy is higher than that in general pediatric population, suggesting a co-morbidity of headache in epilepsy patients with migraine being the most frequent headache disorder. Altered cerebral excitability resulting in an increased occurrence of spreading depression may explain the headache comorbidity with epilepsy. Further studies are needed to assess the etiology of this co-morbidity as well as assess the frequency, duration, severity and disability response to antiepileptic drugs.
Considering the importance of corruption index measurement model and the diffusion of popular awareness about the importance of anti-corruption, this research compared and analyzed existing corruption index measurement models. This paper has selected "Anti-Corruption Index model(ACI model)" that was developed by Seoul Development Institute and "CCEJ's Corruption Index model" which is under use by the Citizens' Coaltion for Economic Justice. These two models were analyzed in terms of appropriateness of 'the indicator and index choice method', 'the research design' and 'the use of statistical data'. This analysis shows that two models have some problems. First, at the level of indicator and index choice method, the indicators of CCEJ's corruption index model is too atomized and redundant. As not putting weight of indicator, it did not consider importance of each indicator. Citizens who evaluated the level of corruption didn't participate in the weight evaluation team, which results in failure of the model to reflect the citizens' opinion. Also, because the question about Seoul Metropolis' corruption level is not included, it is not detected difference between real corruption level and perceptive corruption level. Second, in terms of appropriateness of research design, the sample of the CCEJ' corruption index model is too small to get credibility. The objectivity of research method seems to be low because survey was performed by exit interview. In addition, 38 items are overfull in the questionnire of CCEJ's corruption index model compare to 13 items in ACI model. Also, in making up questions, the terms are redundant and unobvious. Third, in regarding with feasibility of the statistical data, the CCEJ's corruption index model uses regulation data for disciplinary punishment of 25 local governments in Seoul from 1995 to 1999. But, it is common ideas of scholars that statistical data indicates the tip of an iceberg in corruption. So for using a statistical data, it needs a data of enough quantity and has a high level credibility. In addition, objective method of giving weight is not developed. In this point of view, the use of statistical data has some limits. To solve this problem, ① objective data should be included in the indicators, ② various indicators should be developed and ③ a method of giving weight should be improved.
The Purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the leasure activity and social support of the elderly people on their psychological well-being and the moderating role of social support. For this study, data were collected from 347 old people participating in the leasure activity programs operated by 10 facilities for the aged in Seoul, using structured questionnaires. Hierarchical regression analysis technique was used as a main data analysis method for hypothesis test. This study found that productive leasure activity had a beneficial effect on psychological well-being of the elderly measured in terms of life satisfaction and loneliness, whereas consumptive leasure activity had a positive effect only on life satisfaction; that, with regard to social support, spouse support had the most important effect on life satisfaction, followed by friend support and children support, whereas friend support had the most important effect on loneliness, followed by spouse support; and that the relationship between productive leasure activity and life satisfaction was moderated by spouse support and friend support, whereas the relationship between productive leasure activity and loneliness was moderated by friend support.

This study aimed to investigate the extent that users participated in Facebook of U.S. state archives and the types of user responses to posts on the Facebook. For the purpose, data created between August 1st and September 30th in 2016 were collected from Facebook continuously operated by 27 state archives. The extent of user participation was measured based on the number of user comments, the number of unique commenters, and the average number of comments per post. According to the measures, top 10 Facebook of state archives were selected. Out of these, Facebook of Ohio (1st), Florida (5th) and Arkansas (10th) state archives were chosen to collect 687 user comments and 132 posts. The analysis showed that comments regarding users' emotional opinion and judgement, adding explanations to a post, and sharing personal stories occupied a large portion. Interactions among users or between a user and an archivist were also identified. With regard to posts, those for sharing information/knowledge of records held in archives were identified as a high percentage. The study suggested that archives should collect and present historical information and related records connected to users' lives, examine methods for effective communication with users via social media and facilitate publicity and outreach services of archives based on shaping and maintaining online user community through social media.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the types of domestic safety accidents involving children and to verify the difference of safety knowledge according to variables of parents. Subjects include 226 parents who have 3-5 year old infants enrolled in kindergartens and day care centers in I-city, Jeollabuk-do. The study tools are modified and complemented questionnaire for the study purpose referred to the preceding research data and the literature. For the processing of collected data, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, and the Duncan post-test were utilized using the SPSS program. The results of this study are as follows: First, safety accidents occurred at the majority of homes which have infant children. On average, the occurrence frequency was 1.78 times per six months. The accidents involving infants occurred in the order of drop or slip, crash or impact, stricture or jamming, fall, stab or cut, burn, swallow or inhalation. Second, both parents had an average level of safety knowledge. There was a distinction in the areas of 'fall' and 'first aid' according the mother's age. In addition, stay-at-home mothers had the higher level of safety knowledge compared with working mothers in the areas of 'general safety knowledge' and 'fire'. There was a distinction in the area of 'fire' according to the father's age. Given these findings, safety training programs for parents to improve safety knowledge needs to be developed.
Security Business Act of Korea is leaning toward the aspect of regulation, while it provides few provisions about vesting the authority, which causes problems such as legal loopholes to be raised in regard to the rules about authorizing the private security personnel to perform security affairs properly and defining the limit of power. So, it should be done to interpret the law in order to draw the legal basis of empowering as well as to set limits of the authority of security main agent, and Article 7, Section 1, of Security Business Act is the very provision that involves the legal basis. In the scope of 'Management Power', the statutory authority in the first clause of Article 7 of Security Business Act, the security personnel can use force for self-defense, defense of others and property, and prevention of crimes. In addition, the powers of interrogation, access control, and eviction notice are involved in its scope. The private security personnel as the occupation assistant can take precautions and if the infringement on the benefit and protection of the law is imminent or done, he or she can use force within the limits of the passive resistance and the means of defiance on the basis of 'Management Power'. The private security personnel, however, can exercise the force only if the necessary conditions of legal defense, emergency evacuation, and legitimate act of criminal law are fulfilled.

The purposes of this study were to categorize the type of student-student interaction and analyze the pattern of group interaction by cognitive level in interactive science inquiry experiments. For this study, two homogeneous and two heterogeneous groups by cognitive level were selected. Social interactions during group discussions were audio/video taped. The types of student's interaction were classified as intellectual and emotional aspects. Intellectual aspects were consisted of asking question, response, making suggestion, receiving opinion and then further coded by interaction level. Emotional aspects were consisted of relevance to behavioral participation, relevance to students' feeling, reaction to opinion. Interaction frequency in the intellectual and emotional aspect between homogeneous and heterogeneous group were compared to analyze interaction pattern. The results of this study showed that in intellectual aspect the frequency and quality of interaction in homogeneous group was higher than that in heterogeneous group. In emotional aspect. homogeneous group more showed such negative attitude as lack of confidence and dissatisfaction than heterogeneous group, on the other hand showed acceptable mood to be able to accept or object to peer's opinion. Some educational implications were drawn.

The purpose of this study is to find out how middle school students evaluate scientific information in terms of hypothetico-deductive reasoning. A total of 66 middle school students completed a paper-and-pencil test on scientific information evaluation and 14 of them were individually interviewed for triangulation. The test includes six topics related to scientific or pseudoscientific information, and questions about each topic were sequenced based on a hypothetico-deductive reasoning. The hypothetico-deductive process consists of three steps: identifying predictions made by explanations in the information, identifying data actually obtained, and determining the fit between predictions and data to judge the validity of the explanations. Data analyses have focused on students' response types at each step, whether students used hypoethetico-deductive reasoning, and students' preference to evidence types in making decisions. The middle school students in this study answered the questions in various ways based on how they used the information given or personal knowledge and beliefs. A small portion of students evaluated information based on hypothetico-deductive reasoning. These students tended to give priority to scientific data in determining the validity of the information. On the other hand, students who did not use hypoethetico-deductive reasoning tended to prefer first-hand experience in the decision. The results provide implications for science lessons and the curriculum for scientific literacy. Further research should include student evaluation of the validity of data and other types of reasoning.
The purpose of this study was to explore changes of elementary science class in student oriented group inquiry activities using a Science Writing Heuristic (SWH) template that enhance scaffolding of inquiry. The changes focused on students' written reports and perceptions of their learning environment as well as discourse patterns. One fourth-grade class of 29 students participated in this study, and a developed work sheet of science writing was utilized to scaffold student's inquiry activities. Four units in the first-semester text book for fourth grade of the-, 2007 Educational Curriculum Revision were chosen for scaffolding inquiry, and sixteen lessons of instruction were all videotaped. For investigating students' written reports, a framework based on the aspects of science inquiry by Millar (2010) was used to evaluate the coherence between student inquiry activities and their claims. Secondly, a regular fourth-grade class was selected as the control group and was compared with the experiment group using the pre- and post-test of the survey on the perception of science class and science. Lastly, students' discourse patterns of the beginning science lesson were compared with those of the closing lesson. We found that the coherence in the last class increased significantly in students' written reports compared to the first one. Findings also indicated that students' perceptions on their learning environment moved toward student-centered. Based on our discourse patterns analysis, the last class was more student-centered from being teacher-centered than the first one.
