  • Recently, because of the economic slump on the national construction market, enterprises are making a ceaseless effort on participating in the competitiveness enforcement, internationalization and globalization. As this firm has found a larger market abroad and took part in great and small services since 2003, successful services are going under construction in USA, Mongolia and Guam. In this case study, looking around the on-going projects, the analysis and solutions of the differences of the counter attitude and matters resulted from politic, economical, social and cultural gaps are proposed. This study is helpful to enterprises which are planning to extend its business abroad and which want to take part in global standards.

  • The size of Vietnam's construction market has been on a steady rise recently, and foreign construction companies such as China and Japan have been expanding their presence. Therefore, this study examined the design capabilities, construction capabilities, and construction project management capabilities of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese construction companies operating in Vietnam and local construction companies operating in Vietnam. As a result, it was found that Japan, Korea, China, and Vietnam were competitive in order. In particular, Korea's competitiveness in high-rise buildings and plants has been shown to be highly competitive in Vietnam. Based on these results, the government proposed measures to strengthen the competitiveness of Korean construction companies in Vietnam.

  • 글로벌 물시장 동향을 살펴보면 ① 첨단 기술기반의 글로벌, ② 운영관리 시장의 확대, ③ 물기업의 토털 솔류션화(제조+건설+엔지니어링+운영관리), ④ 기후변화 대비 신규시장 형성 등 글로벌 물산업의 트렌드가 전환되고 있다. 특히 4차산업 혁명 기술과 코비드19의 영향으로 이러한 변화는 물산업 선도국가 및 선도기업의 정책·전략에 있어 지역별 특성과 분야별 물시장의 특성을 반영한 전략목표 재설정 및 재수립이 요구되고 있다. 한편 국내 물시장은 2020년 기준 상·하수도 보급률, 각각 98.7%, 94.5% 수준을 달성했음에도 불구하고. 해외시장 진출에 있어서는 미미한 수준에 머물고 있다. 따라서 국내 물산업의 지속적 발전을 위해서는 포화된 국내 시장을 벗어난 신시장 발굴이 필요한 상황이며, 국가별 상황에 대한 실태조사와 목표 시장별 분석을 통해 국가별, 분야별 맞춤 진출전략을 수립해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 국내 물기업의 유럽지역(프랑스/스페인) 진출 활성화를 위해 각 국가별 상황에 부합하는 목표 시장별 차별적 전략 도출을 위해 국가별 물시장 동향 및 전망, 진출목표 분야를 분석함으로써 국내 물기업의 프랑스/스페인 물시장 진입전략 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

A Case Study on Joint Overseas Expansion of Home Shopping Firm and Consumer Goods SMEs (홈쇼핑 기업과 소비재 중소기업의 해외 동반진출에 관한 사례연구)

  • There must be a balanced development of both conglomerates and small and mid-sized companies in order to secure constant economic growth and competitive edge of South Korea. Accordingly, high expectations are being placed on win-win growth and joint overseas expansion of conglomerates and small and mid-sized companies. This study seeks efficient ways to promote joint overseas expansion of major retailers and small and mid-sized companies considering the distinctiveness of home shopping by conducting interviews about joint overseas expansion of home shopping companies and small and mid-sized consumer goods companies in South Korea. To do this, interviews were conducted with three home shopping companies and three consumer goods SMEs operating in overseas markets. The results are as follows. Home shopping companies contribute to opening up overseas markets for small and mid-sized consumer goods companies, and allows them to make use of business and marketing competencies that they lack. Home shopping companies also produce visual materials or provide language translations, and help draw up documents for customs clearance in trading. They also form market development teams and provide information about the overseas markets. However, since the actual benefits from joint overseas expansion are minor for home shopping companies, there is a need for a strategy for win-win growth of both parties in the long run. To this end, it is necessary to provide substantial benefits to encourage joint overseas expansion. Ultimately, balanced development between home shopping companies and small- and medium-sized consumer goods companies should be promoted.

  • For the reasons such as resource development, an interest in the extreme cold regions has been increasing in recent years. Therefore, this study aims to suggest the application methods of satellite images for the construction projects over extreme cold regions. Because extreme cold regions including the Antarctic is generally far and difficult to access, the satellite images are useful to monitor the extreme cold regions. In this study, satellite images can be used in the overall construction process and the application methods presented through the review of the case studies and the related literature.

  • The IT industry plays the engine role in Korean economy which reaches up to 17% of Korean GDP. However the current global economic depression which stems mainly from the US has caused insufficient demand in IT industry. The decreased demand leads to a drug in the market, to fierce price competitions and increasing fear on the world IT market depression. Considering the facts, there are strong demands for the diversification of the products of exports and the countries Korea exports to. These need differentiated strategies which can be summarized in various IT package-type overseas expansion model including the consideration in strategic items, countries, connecting large and small-medium size companies or businesses and related industries. The importance of IT industry in Korean economy will grow constantly and the IT package-type overseas expansion models will preside the movements.
