Extraction and Concentration Method of Red Ginseng by Vacuum Impulse System (진공력적방식(Vacuum Impulse Stem)을 이용한 홍삼의 추출 방법)

  • Hydrolysis properties of ginseng saponins in processing of extraction with vacuum impulse system extraction method were compared with multi-stage extraction methods. Crude saponin content of the extract produced by vacuum impulse system extraction method was $11.5\%,$ compared with multi-stage extraction method (about $8.13\%).$ Also the yield of the extract increased about $6.7\%.$ The flavor and aroma of ginseng extract with vacuum impulse system extraction method are stronger than multi-stage extraction methods and people have a tendency to like more. The color was similar to existing extraction items and the liquidity ratio was high. Vacuum impulse system extraction method could save human resources because of short extraction time and automatic operation of processing. With HPLC pattern, We could ascertain the truth that hydrolysis properties of ginseng saponin was restrained in the extraction processing, vacuum impulse system extraction method.

Extraction of Red Ginseng Extract by Impulse Vacuun System (Impulse-Vacuum System을 이용한 홍삼엑스의 추출)

  • This study was carried out to establish the extraction method of red ginseng extract without saponin decomposition. Red ginseng was extracted with impulse vacuum system and multi-stage extraction method. Crude saponin content of red ginseng extract (RGE) from impulse vacuum system was 5.4-5.9%, while that of RGE from multi-stage extraction method was 8.2-8.3%. However, HPLC Patterns indicated that saponins of RGE from impulse vacuum system were hardly decomposed, while those of RGE from multi-stage extraction method were decomposed, especially in ginsenoside -Rgl and -Re saponin. Also, the yields of red ginseng by impulse vacuum system were 15 to 20 times higher than that of multi-stage extraction method.

  • 발생된 플라즈마에 공존하는 진공에너지가 배제된 순수 플라즈마를 모니터링하였다. 이미징 기구를 이용하여 진공과 플라즈마 공간을 척의 온도를 변화시키며 촬상하였고, 획득한 이미지에서 입자정보를 추출하여 종래의 센서와 비교평가하였다. 추출된 입자정보는 OES와 langmuir probe와 유사한 경향성을 보였으며, 이는 추출한 정보가 플라즈마 입자의 분포를 구분할 수 있음을 의미한다.

Anticancer and Antioxidant Effects of Solvent Extracts from Dried Onion with Different Drying Methods (건조방법에 따른 건조 양파 추출물의 항암 및 항산화 효과)

  • We investigated to determine the inhibitory effects of solvent extracts from dried onion on growth of cancer cell lines (HT-1080 human fibrosarcoma and HT-29 human colon cancer cells) and $H_{2}O_{2}$-induced oxidative stress. Two different drying methods, low temperature vacuum dryer and freeze dryer, were employed to dry onion. Inhibitory effects of acetone with methylene chloride (A+M) and methanol (MeOH) extracts from onion by two drying methods on the growth of HT-1080 and HT-29 cancer cells increased in a dose dependent manner (p<0.05) and the higher inhibitory effect was shown in onion extracts dried by low temperature vacuum dryer. The treatments of hexane, 85% aq. methanol, butanol and water fractions significantly inhibited the growth of both cancer cells (p<0.05) and onion fractions dried by freeze dryer showed a higher inhibitory effect compared with those dried by low temperature vacuum dryer. In order to determine a protective effect on H2O2-induced oxidative stress, DCHF-DA (dichlorodihydrofluorescin diacetate) assay was conducted. All fractions including crude extracts of dried onion appeared to significantly reduce the levels of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) (p<0.05). Higher antioxidant effect was observed in onions dried by the low temperature vacuum dryer method. These results indicate that the low temperature vacuum dryer is useful to dry and produce onion powder.

Analysis of Soil Vacuum Extraction using Analytical Solution of Groundwater Flow (지하수 흐름의 해석해를 이용한 토양진공추출 해석)

  • An analytical solution of groundwater flow is applied to design soil vacuum extraction for removing volatile organic compounds from the unsaturation zone. The governing equation of gas or vapor flow in porous media is nonlinear in that gas density depends on gas pressure. A linear equation suggested by researcher is similar to that of groundwater flow. The pressure drawdowns of confined and leaky aqufiers are calculated using Massmann's field data, and the pressure drawdowns are compared. A solution of Theis equation calculated by Massmann is modified using GASSOLVE9 program in this paper. The pressure drawdown using Hantush's analytical solution for leaky aquifer also compared to that of Massmann. Hantush's analytical solution gives good approximations to pressure drawdown.
