Magnetoresistance Properties of Hybrid GMR-SV Films with Nb Buffer Layers (Nb 버퍼층과 거대자기저항-스핀밸브 하이브리드 다층박막의 자기저항 특성)

  • The IrMn based GMR-SV films with three different buffer layers were prepared on Corning glass by using ion beam deposition and DC magnetron sputtering method. The major and minor magnetoresistance curves for three different buffer layers beneath the structure of NiFe(15 nm)/CoFe(5 nm)/Cu(2.5 nm)/CoFe(5 nm)/NiFe(7 nm)/IrMn(10 nm)/Ta(5 nm) at room temperature have shown different magnetoresistance properties. When the samples were annealed at $250^{\circ}C$ in vacuum, the magnetoresistance ratio, the coercivity of pinned ferromagnetic layer, and the interlayer coupling field of free ferromagnetic layer were enhanced while the exchange bias coupling field did not show noticeable changes.

  • To develop array magnetic sensors, specular-type giant magnetoresistive- spin valve (GMR-SV) film of Glass/Ta(5)MiFe(7)/IrMn(10)NiFe(5)/$O_2$/CoFe(5)/Cu(2.6)/CoFe(5)/$O_2$/NiFe(7)/Ta(5)(nm) was deposited by using a high-vacuum sputtering system. One of 15 way sensors in the area of $8{\times}8mm^2$ was Patterned a size of $20{\times}80{\mu}m^2$ in multilayer sample by Photo-lithography. All of 15 sensors with Cu electrodes were measured a uniform magnetic properties by 2-probe method. The highest magnetic sensitivity of MR and output voltage measured nearby an external magnetic field of 5 Oe were MS = 0.5%/Oe and ${\triangle}$V= 3.0 mV, respectively. An easy-axis of top-free layers of $CoFe/O_2/NiFe$ with shape anisotropy was perpendicular to one of bottom-pinned layers $IrMn/NiFe/O_2/CoFe$. When the sensing current increased from 1 mA to 10 mA, the output working voltage uniformly increased and the magnetic sensitivity was almost stable to use the nano-magnetic devices with good sensitive properties.

  • A Xenon feed system has been developed for a 300 W Hall-effect thruster intended for orbit maintenance of small satellite. The system can store about 2 kg of xenon gas at 150 bar and is capable of controlling the mass flow rate of the gas at 0.5 SCCM resolution. The performance of the system is verified with a laboratory experiment. It is confirmed that the operation of the feed system is successful at a pressure level of $1.0{\times}10^{-6}$ torr in the vacuum chamber.

  • The processes for the smelting of a metal product and the solidification of a molten salt were developed respectively to treat the products from the electrochemical reduction process. The method for the separation of a metal product in a magnesia container from the residual. salt and consequent smelting of it to a metal ingot by the multi step heating in vacuum was proposed. The new concept using a dual vessel and a salt valve was also suggested for the solidification of a molten salt into a regular size and shape which is suitable for the transport and measurement. The results obtained in the study will be applied to the design of the hot cell demonstration system of the Advanced Spent Fuel Conditioning Process of KAERI.

  • This paper is performed to find out the stability of water-hammer in pipe line and pump station that is happened when additional water needs demanded. At first, the water supply construction project is planned to supply $6,000\;m^3/day$ through 17.9 km pipe line. But additional demand ($1,200\;m^3/day$) happened from Cheong-ra water reservoir. In this situation, air-chamber($4\;m^3$) and vacuum breaker valve(${\varphi}100\;mm$) are needed to prevent water-hammer. When the additional water is supplied, the existing facilities (air-chamber, vacuum breaker valve) are sufficient to alleviate shock not changing capacity alteration, judging from the airspace change and rise. Therefore, there is no problem for water-hammer by installing air-chamber($4\;m^3$) and vacuum breaker valve(${\varphi}100\;mm$) at the top of Yeo-ju hill.

$CF_4$/Ar를 이용한 유기고분자 기판의 펄스 직류전원 건식 식각

  • 본 논문은 펄스 직류전원 (Pulse DC) 플라즈마 소스와 반응성 가스인 $CF_4$와 불활성 가스인 Ar를 혼합하여 산업에서 널리 사용되는 유기고분자인 Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), Polyethylene terephthalate (PET), 그리고 Polycarbonate (PC) 샘플을 건식 식각한 결과에 대한 것이다. 각각의 샘플은 감광제 도포 후에 자외선을 조사하는 포토레지스트 방법으로 마스크를 만들었다. 펄스 직류전원 플라즈마 시스템을 사용하면 다양한 변수를 줄 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 공정 변수는 Pulse DC Voltage는 300 - 500 V, Pulse DC reverse time $0.5{\sim}2.0\;{\mu}s$, Pulse DC Frequency 100~250 kHz 이었다. 변수 각각의 값이 높아질수록 고분자의 식각률이 높아졌다. 특히, PMMA의 식각률이 가장 높았으며 PET, PC 순이었다. 샘플 중 PC의 식각률이 가장 낮은 이유는 고분자 결합 중에 이중결합의 벤젠 고리 모양을 포함하고 있어 분자 결합력이 비교적 높기 때문으로 사료된다. 기계적 펌프만을 사용한 공정 전 압력은 30 mTorr이었다. 쓰로틀 밸브를 완전 개방한 상태에서 식각 공정 중 진공 압력은 $CF_4$ 가스유량이 늘어날수록 증가하였다. 식각률 역시 $CF_4$ 가스유량(총 가스 유량은 10 sccm)이 많을수록 증가함을 보여주었다 (PMMA: 10 sccm $CF_4$에서 330 nm/min, 3.5 sccm $CF_4$/6.5 sccm Ar에서 260 nm/min., PET: 10 sccm $CF_4$에서 260 nm/min, 3.5 sccm $CF_4$/6.5 sccm Ar에서 210 nm., PC: 10 sccm $CF_4$에서 230 nm, 3.5 sccm $CF_4c$/6.5 sccm Ar에서 160 nm). 이는 펄스 직류전원 플라즈마 식각에서 $CF_4$와 Ar의 가스 혼합비를 조절함으로서 고분자 소재의 식각률을 적절히 변화시킬 수 있다는 것을 의미한다. 표면 거칠기는 실험 후 표면단차 측정기와 전자 현미경 등을 이용하여 식각한 샘플의 표면을 측정하여 알 수 있었다. 실험전 기준 샘플 표면 거칠기는 PMMA는 1.53nm, PET는 3.1nm, PC는 1.54nm 이었다. 식각된 샘플들의 표면 거칠기는 PMMA는 3.59~10.59 nm, PET은 5.13~11.32 nm, PC는 1.52~3.14 nm 범위였다. 광학 발광 분석기 (Optical emission spectroscopy)를 이용하여 식각 공정 중 플라즈마 발광특성을 분석한 결과, 탄소 원자 픽 (424.662 nm)과 아르곤 원자 픽 (751.465 nm, 763.510 nm)의 픽의 존재를 확인하였다. 이 때 탄소 픽은 $CF_4$ 가스에서 발생하였을 것으로 추측한다. 본 발표를 통해 펄스 직류전원 $CF_4$/Ar의 고분자 식각 결과에 대해 보고할 것이다.

Regional Distribution of Isotropy Magnetic Property of Dual-type Giant Magnetoresistance-Spin Valve Multilayer (이중구조 거대자기저항-스핀밸브 박막의 자기등방성 영역분포에 관한 연구)

  • The regional distribution of magnetic isotropy depending on the post annealing condition for the dual-type structure GMR-SV (giant magnetoresistance-spin valve) of NiFe/Cu/NiFe/IrMn/NiFe/Cu/NiFe multilayer was investigated. The rotation of in-plane ferromagnetic layer induced by controlment of the post annealing temperature inside of the vacuum chamber. The magnetoresistive curves of a dual-type IrMn based GMR-SV depending on the direction of the magnetization easy axis of the free layer and the pinned layer are measured by between $0^{\circ}$ and $360^{\circ}$ angles for the applied fields. The optimum annealing temperature having a steady and isotropy magnetic sensitivity of 1.52 %/Oe was $107^{\circ}C$ in the rotational section of $0{\sim}90^{\circ}$. By investigating the switching process of magnetization for an arbitrary measuring direction, the in-plane orthogonal magnetization for the dual-type GMR-SV multilayer can be used by a high sensitive biosensor for detection of magnetized micro-beads.

Pressure Recovery in a Supersonic Ejector of a High Altitude Turbofan Engine Testing Chamber (터보팬 엔진의 고고도 성능의 초음속 이젝터의 압력회복에 관한 연구)

  • This research aims in finding a more optimal ejector size for evacuating engine exhaust gasses and 20% of the cell cooling air. The remaining 80% of cell cooling air pumped into the test chamber is separately exhausted from the test chamber via a discharge port fitted with flow control valves and vacuum pump. Unlike its predecessor this configuration utilizes a smaller capture area to improve pressure recovery. The modified ejector size has a diameter of 1100mm enough to evacuate 66kg/s jet engine exhaust in addition to about 20%, 24kg/s of the cell cooling air tapped from the sterling chamber. This configurations has an area ratio of the engine exit and ejector inlet of about 1.2. Simulation results of the proposed ejector configuration, indicates improved pressure recovery.

  • This study aims at finding an optimal exhaust diffuser design of a high altitude testing chamber for a low bypass turbofan engine (F404-402) with thrust pound force of 17,700 and air mass flow rate of 66kg/s ejecting at a speed of Mach 1.66. The final proposed ejector size has better pressure recovery characteristics and targets to reduce operational cost at engine performance testing. Conventional high altitude test chamber layout was adopted and first drawn in two dimensions using Autocad software so as to determine the gas path, the ejector frontal size was then determined from gas dynamics equations considering traditional gas ejection method where both the engine exhaust and cell cooling air are exhausted via the ejector. Modification to a smaller ejector with an alternative secondary cell cooling exhaust port was then performed and modelled in 3D using Solid Works software.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study for failure examples of emission gas recirculation and air control and catalyzed particulate filter system in diesel engine vehicle. The first example, the researcher found the fact that the much engine oil came into the intake manifold causing diaphragm damage of EGR valve. The engine oil entered into combustion chamber of engine so that a car emit the polluted exhaust gas when driving. The second example, the researcher certified the sticking phenomenon of carbon and foreign substance with the throttle flap so that the exhaust fumes discharged exhaust port. The third example, the regeneration function don't activated to not detect the temperature of exhaust gas because of damage in the sensor. Thus, the researcher must meticulously manage his car not in order to take place the problem of environmental pollution.
