The Characteristics of the Flame Propagation Velocity and Volume Integral of Reaction Rate with the Variation of Nozzle Diameter and Fuel Injection Flow Rate for a Liftoff Flame (부상화염에서 노즐직경과 연료유량에 따른 화염전파속도와 체적연소반응속도의 변화 특성에 관한 연구)

  • A numerical analysis of reactive flow in a liftoff flame is accomplished to elucidate the characteristics of flame propagation velocity and volume integral of reaction rate with the variation of nozzle diameter and fuel injection flow rate in a liftoff flame consisted with fuel rich region, fuel lean region and diffusion flame region. The increase of fuel injection velocity enhances flame propagation velocity for the selected three nozzle diameter(d=0.25, 0.30, 0.35mm), but its effect on the flame propagation velocity is not much greater than 4.3%. The increase of fuel flow rate is directly and linearly related with the volume reaction rate and so the volume reaction rate, not the flame propagation velocity, might be considered to accommodate the variation of fuel flow rate in a liftoff flame.

  • This study was carried out with two goals. One was the development of a model of a wind turbine blade airfoil and the other was the application of this folding blade. In general, in large-sized (MW) wind turbines, damage is prevented because of the use of a pitch control system. On the other hand, pitch control is not performed in small wind turbines since equipment costs and maintenance costs are high, and therefore, the blade will cause serious damage. The wind turbine proposed in this study does not require maintenance, and the blades do not break during high winds because they are folded in accordance with changes in the wind speed. But generators are not cut-out, while maintaining a constant angle will continue to produce. The focus of this study, the wind turbine is continued by folding blade system in strong winds and gusts without stopping production.

  • The design of missile require extremely small warheads that must be highly efficient and lethal. The penetration characteristics of each penetrator and the total number of penetrators on the warhead are obvious key factors that influence warhead lethality. The design of the penetrator shape and size are directly related to the space and weight of the warhead. The design of the penetrator L/D was directly related to the space and weight of the warhead. L and D are the length and the diameter of the projectile, respectively. The AUTODYN-3D code was used to study the effect of penetrator penetration. The objective of numerical analysis was to determine the penetration characteristics of penetrator produced by hypervelocity impacts under different initial conditions such as initial velocity, obliquity angle and L/D of penetrator. The residual velocity and residual mass were decreased with increasing initial impact velocity under $L/D{\leq}4$.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the control function of discharged flow due to the shape and plane arrangement of permeable submerged breakwater. For the discussion on it in detail, 3-dimensional numerical model based on PBM (Porous Body Model), which is able to simulate directly interaction of Fluid Permeable structure Seabed has been used to simulate water discharge in a NWT (Numerical Water Tank). To verify the applicability, LES-WASS-3D is analyzed comparing to the experimental result about propagation characteristics of dam-break wave through a permeable structure. Using the results obtained from numerical simulation, the effects of the shape and plane arrangement of submerged breakwater on reducing velocity and flow induction have been discussed related to the mean flow distribution and vertical distributions of horizontal velocities around ones.

  • LCM test is one of the most powerful and reliable methods of experiment for the cutter head design and the performance prediction of TBM. In many cases, however, the predicted design model can be directly applied to the field design, because this test may have an uppermost limit in preparation and/or transportation of the large size rock samples and the test for the jointed rock mass is not easy. When the proper and reasonable numerical modeling is considered to overcome this limit, the most adequate cutter head design for TBM could be presented without any complicate preconsideration in the field. In this study, the crack propagation patterns dependent on the contact point of disc cutter and the angle of rock joint are analyzed for the rock specimen with a single joint using the UDEC. The authors could derive the appropriate contact points of disc cutters and their space with respect to the joint angle in rock mass thru the numerical analysis.

A Computational Study on the Shock Structure and Thrust Performance of a Supersonic Nozzle with Overexpanded Flow (과대팽창이 발생하는 초음속노즐의 충격파 구조와 추력성능에 대한 수치적 연구)

  • Overexpanded flow of an axisymmetric thruster nozzle is numerically simulated to investigate effects of nozzle pressure ratio (NPR) on the shock structure and thrust performance. The Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with k-${\omega}$ SST turbulence model are solved utilizing FLUENT solver. As the NPR is raised, thrust performance monotonically increases with the shock structure and flow-separation point being pushed toward the nozzle exit. It is also discussed that the flow structure at nozzle-exit plane which is immediately affected by a position of nozzle-interior shocks and expansion waves, has strong influence upon the thrust performance of thruster nozzle.

Bonding Properties of Epoxy-Concrete Interface in RC Beams Strengthened by Steel Plate (강판으로 보강된 RC보의 에폭시-콘크리트 계면의 부착특성)

  • Both strength and stiffness of RC structures strengthened by a steel plate greatly increase and however, their ductility might not be sufficient because premature failures usually occur at the adhesive-concrete interface. In this study, Mohr-Coulomb criterion was adopted to examine the bonding failure mechanism, and the diagonal shear bonding test, the direct shear bonding test, and the flexural test on RC beams strengthened by a steel plate were carried out to measure the bonding properties. It is found from the experimental and numerical results that the cohesive strengths of epoxy-concrete interfaces are ranging from 50 kgf/㎠ to 70 kgf/㎠ when the friction angle is 45°. Bonding failure loads can be predicted by applying the bonding properties to the structural analysis of RC beams strengthened by steel plate. By considering them in the design of strengthened beams, the premature failure would be effectively prevented.

Digital Image Watermarking Scheme in the Singular Vector Domain (특이 벡터 영역에서 디지털 영상 워터마킹 방법)

  • As multimedia information is spread over cyber networks, problems such as protection of legal rights and original proof of an information owner raise recently. Various image transformations of DCT, DFT and DWT have been used to embed a watermark as a token of ownership. Recently, SVD being used in the field of numerical analysis is additionally applied to the watermarking methods. A watermarking method is proposed in this paper using Gabor cosine and sine transform as well as SVD for embedding and extraction of watermarks for digital images. After delivering attacks such as noise addition, space transformation, filtering and compression on watermarked images, watermark extraction algorithm is performed using the proposed GCST-SVD method. Normalized correlation values are calculated to measure the similarity between embedded watermark and extracted one as the index of watermark performance. Also visual inspection for the extracted watermark images has been done. Watermark images are inserted into the lowest vertical ac frequency band. From the experimental results, the proposed watermarking method using the singular vectors of SVD shows large correlation values of 0.9 or more and visual features of an embedded watermark for various attacks.

  • 최근 우리나라는 기후변화에 따른 태풍발생빈도 증가 및 이상강우, 유역내 토지이용의 고도화로 인한 유역특성 변화로 유역내 홍수량은 증가하고 홍수 도달시간이 짧아지는 양상을 보이고 있다. 이로 인해 홍수에 따른 치수방어 대책으로 하천의 제방축조 및 보강방법이 주로 채택되었으나, 최근에는 홍수시 직접적인 하천내 수위 저감을 위한 방안으로 하도내 저류효과를 확대하기 위한 보 설치 및 하도정비를 통한 하도준설을 시행하고 있다. 그러나 본류 하상저하에 따른 지류하천의 하상변동(두부침식)으로 하도내 세굴 침식에 의한 하천시설물 피해 사례가 늘게 되면서 과거 홍수에 의한 제방월류 피해에서 하상변동에 의한 하천시설물 붕괴로 하천피해 양상이 바뀌게 되었다. 이와 같은 피해를 방지하기 위해 지류하천 합류부에 하상변동 방지책으로 하상유지공을 설치하고 있지만 국내에는 이와 관련된 구체적 설계기준 및 연구가 미비하여 일선에서는 아직도 하천구조물의 용도가 다른 보나 낙차공의 설계기준을 준용하는 등 하상유지공 용도에 특성화된 설계기준(최적 위치선정 및 형식 등)이 없는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 감천(낙동강 지류하천)유역내 하도준설 및 홍수로 인한 하상유지공의 유실에 따른 지류하천의 피해사례를 통해 수치해석결과 및 실측자료를 바탕으로 하상유지공 계획의 중요성을 검증하고자 하였다. 또한 하도준설로 생성된 지류합류부의 단차구간에 안정성을 확보한 최적의 하상유지공 위치 및 형식 등을 선정 검토하고 설치 유 무에 따른 유수흐름 및 하상변화양상을 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 향후 하도굴착 및 하상유지공 계획시 고려해야할 사항(지형현황 및 수리특성 등)을 인지하고 극한상황에서도 안전한 하상유지공의 위치 및 형식 등을 선정하는데 활용 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

  • 하천과 해양에서 발생한 수질오염은 특성상 유속의 흐름에 따라 광범위하며 급속도로 퍼져나가기 때문에 이를 효율적으로 유지, 관리하기 위해서는 오염인자들에 대한 모니터링이 수행되어야 한다. 원격탐사 기술을 이용한 하천의 수질측정은 대규모지역으로 분포해있는 수질농도의 변화양상을 시 공간적으로 모니터링 하는 것이 가능하게 할 뿐 아니라, 사람이 접근하기 어려운 지역에는 직접취수를 하지 않음으로써 기존의 수질측정방법들에 비해 편의성을 높여 시간적, 경제적 측면에서 효율적이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 최근 수질오염이 심화되고 있는 낙동강유역을 대상으로 인공위성 이미지영상을 이용하여 수질인자들의 농도측정을 수행하였다. 연구를 위해 사용된 인공위성은 NASA와 USGS가 공동으로 운용중인 Landsat 8 인공위성이다. Landsat 8의 11개 band 중 band2(Blue), band3(Green), band4(Red), band5(Near Infrared)를 사용하여 실제로 측정된 지점자료와 인공위성자료간의 상관관계를 규명하였다. 사용된 인공위성자료는 지점자료 날짜를 포함하는 총 4개의 연구날짜(2013/10/27, 2013/11/12, 2014/04/14, 2014/05/16)에 해당하는 위성이미지영상이다. Pearson상관계수를 통한 밴드와 수질인자간의 상관 결과, 본 연구지역에서는 $0.85-0.88{\mu}m$(band5)의 파장영역에서 클로로필-a와 부유물질이 가장 민감하게 반응함을 알 수 있었다. 두 수질인자들은 band2, band3, band4에서도 비교적 높은 상관성을 보였으며, 이를 근거로 band combination, band ratio를 통해 클로로필-a와 부유물질의 회귀모델식을 유도하였다. 각각의 회귀모델식은 실제 측정된 데이터들과 비교 검증을 통해 4개의 연구기간 중 2013년 10월 27일, 2014년 5월 16일에 대해서 클로로필-a와 부유물질의 공간적인 분포양상을 시각적으로 도시화하였다.
