The Influence of the Library Manager's Communication Ability on Job Performance and Role-Conflict of the Library Staff (도서관 관리자의 커뮤니케이션 능력이 직원들의 주관적 직무성과와 역할갈등에 미치는 영향)

  • The library manager's communication ability can influence organizational management because the types and ways of organizational management is carried out can be determined by the manager's communication ability. In that, this study intends to examine the influence of the library manager's communication ability on job performance and role-conflict of the library staff. To do so, on top of the conceptual framework of communication and the library as an organization, this study builds theoretical underpinnings on the library manager's communication ability, job performance and role-conflict of the library staff. Using a questionnaire survey method, this study surveys 127 library staff from 8 public libraries in Seoul, statistically analyzes the response through the SPSS20 statistical package, and examines the relationship between and among the variables. Based on the analysis, a discussion on the influence of the library manager's communication ability on job performance and role-conflict of the library staff follows.

  • 현재 심각한 재해에 대한 임박성은 일부 관계자 이외는 감지하지 못하고 있는 것이 현실이다. 재해와 같은 위기에 관한 지식이나 이에 대처하기 위한 기술은 어린 시절부터 습득해 두어야 할 기초적 지식 및 능력이라고 생각한다. 그럼에도 불구하고 대지진 발생이 임박하고 있음을 타인의 일처럼 생각하고 있다는 점은 재해와 같은 위기를 자신의 일처럼 생각하고 어떻게 대처해야 할 것인가에 대해 스스로 생각할 수 있는 기회가 충분하지 않다는 것에서 유래한다. 즉 체계적 실천적인 방재 위기관리교육이 충분하게 실시되지 않고 있다는 점을 지적할 수 있을 것이다. 특히 지역주민의 생명 신체 재산을 보호해야 하는 지방자치단체의 소방담당직원의 실천적 대응능력은 말할 것도 없고 수장(首長)의 리스크 관리능력에 대해 의구심을 가지고 있다. 또한 지역 자체의 방재력 강화라는 관점에서는 자주방재조직 등의 지역방재리더나 지역주민 개개인의 방재능력을 향상시켜야 할 필요성이 강조되고 있다. 최근에 건설된 신관저를 계기로 변화된 방재 위기관리 시스템에 관한 정책적 동향을 살펴본다. 아울러 방재 위기관리에 대한 인재양성을 위한 교육의 일환으로 구축된 e-Learning System인 e-College의 구성 및 관련 내용을 살펴봄으로써 정책적 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. 지방자치단체의 방재 위기관리에 있어서 수장 등 간부직원의 의식과 자세가 지역의 방재력을 크게 좌우하는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 방재담당직원 소방직단원에 대한 교육과제를 들 수 있겠다. 고도로 도시화된 사회가 재해에 대한 취약성이 높아지고 있다. 지역의 방재리더, 재해자원봉사, 주민에 대한 교육과제로 도도부현, 시정촌, 대학에서 방재 위기관리 교육이 실시되고 있지만, 1999년 총리부(總理府)에서 여론조사를 보면 자주방재활동에 참가한 경험이 없는 사람이 전체 70%를 차지하고 있다. 기업에 대한 교육과제로 재해발생시에 사원이나 고객의 안전 확보, 사업의 피해경감 조기복구에 의한 경제에 대한 영향을 경감하기 위한 준비를 충실히 해야 한다.

The Effects of Employees' Career Development upon Person-Job Fit and Job Satisfaction in the Hotel Industry (호텔 직원의 경력개발이 개인직무적합성 및 직무만족도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the influence of employees' career development in the hotel industry on person-job fit and job satisfaction. Based on total 353 employees obtained from empirical research, this study reviews the reliability and fitness of the research model and verifies a total of 3 hypotheses using the AMOS program. The hypothesized relationships in the model test are also analyzed using a structural equation model(SEM). The proposed model provided an adequate fit to the data, ${\chi}^2$=563.417(p<0.001), df=236, CMIN/DF=2.387, RMR=.070, GFI=.881, AGFI=.848, NFI=.921, CFI=.952, RMSEA=.065. The SEM results show that employees' career management (${\beta}$=.138), career plan ${\beta}$=.284), and career identity (${\beta}$=.437) among employees' career development plans have significant positive effects on person-job fit. Also, employees' career management (${\beta}$=.238) and employees' person-job fit (${\beta}$=.637) have significant positive effects on job satisfaction. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.

Analysis of Convergent Influence of Organizational Justice, Self Esteem and Self Efficacy on Occupational Stress among Some Regional General Hospital Administrative Staff (일부지역 종합병원 행정직원의 조직공정성, 자아존중감 및 자기효능감이 직무스트레스에 미치는 융복합적 영향 분석)

  • The study analyzed convergent influence on occupational stress(KOSS-SF: Korean Occupational Stress Scale-Short Form) and its association with Organizational Justice(OJ), Self Esteem(RSE :Rosenberg Self-Esreem) and Self Efficacy(GSE: Generalized Self-Efficacy) among some regional General Hospital Administrative Staff(GHAS). The survey was administered to 221 staff from 11 general hospitals located in J city from Nov. 1st, 2016 to Jan. 31st, 2017, by structured self-administered questionaries. Occupational stress was negatively correlated with two sub-domains of OJ, RES and GSE. With the analysis of covariance structure, we identified the causal relationship of OJ, RES, GSE and occupational stress among GHAS. The study found the higher OJ, RES and GSE tend to decrease occupational stress. The results indicate that the efforts, to increase OJ, RSE and GSE, are required to decrease the occupational stress of GHAS. The results are expected to be useful for organization & HR management to decrease the occupational stress of GHAS. In the following study, the analysis about convergent additional factors of influence on occupational stress of GHAS will be needed.

A Study on Goods Purchase and Facility Use in Badminton Club Members Using the IPA Matrix Analysis (IPA Matrix 분석을 이용한 배드민턴 생활체육 동호인의 용품구매 및 시설 이용에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the importance and satisfaction perceived in the purchase of goods and the use of a court in badminton club members. The results will be used for basic data to increase club members and present the methods to activate badminton. The survey on goods, price, programs, facilities, staff, and publicity was conducted. The IPA matrix was applied for data processing. The following conclusions were drawn. First, as a result of analyzing the ranking of importance and satisfaction, the first place of importance was coach's professionalism of staff factors, followed by safety of facility factors and program contents and effects of program factors. The first place of satisfaction was cleanliness and management of facility factors, followed by coach's professionalism of staff factors and staff's kindness of staff factors. Second, as a result of the IPA matrix of importance and satisfaction, Quadrant I included appropriateness of training time and program contents and effect of program factors, parking size and cleanliness and management of facility factors, coach's professionalism and staff's service attitude of staff factors, and customer service and complaint resolution of publicity factors. Quadrant II showed appropriateness of price, value for money, and discount policy of price factors and materials and design of goods factors. Quadrant III included excellent customer service of goods of goods factors, various program construction of program factors, court location and accessibility, and various convenient facilities of facility factors, and various publicity and event programs, website construction, and various publicity strategies of publicity factors. Quadrant IV showed brand value of goods, awareness, and brand specialty of goods of goods factors.

  • The extant research literature is scant in telling us how organizations actually implement lifelong learning practices and policies. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to describe how lifelong learning is grounded in practice. We do this by introducing a new conceptual framework that was developed on the basis of interviews with a number of leading edge corporations from Canada, the USA, India and Korea. At the heart of our model, and any effective lifelong learning system, is a performance management system. The performance management system allows for an ongoing interaction between managers and employees whereby challenging performance and learning goals are set, and concrete plans are made to achieve them. Those plans involve three types of learning activities. First, employees may be encouraged to engage in formal learning. This could be provided in-house, or the employee may take a leave of absence and return to school. Second, managers may deploy their subordinates to different departments or teams, so that they can take part in new work-based learning opportunities. Finally, employees may be encouraged to learn on their own time. By this we mean learning after organizational hours through firm-sponsored 5 programs, such as e-learning courses. Fueled by the performance management system, we posit that these three learning outlets lead to effective lifelong learning in organizations.

  • 아직 봄을 시샘하는 겨울의 마지막 바람이 불던 지난 3월 21일 동수원 우체국에서는 접수한 고객들이 창구가 아닌 임시로 마련된 건강체험 데스크에 줄을 서 있었다. 한국건강관리협회가 우정사업본부와 함께 우체국 방문 고객 및 상주직원을 대상으로 올바른 건강관리에 대한 홍보와 간단한 건강체험 서비스를 제공하기 때문이다. 이 행사는 지난해 이어 올해 두 번째 열린 것이다.

Analysis of Convergent Factors Related to Occupational Stress among General Hospital Administrative Staff (종합병원 행정직원의 직무스트레스와 관련된 융복합적 요인 분석)

  • This study investigates convergent factors associated with occupational stress among General Hospital Administrative Staff(GHAS). The survey was administered to 221 staffs from 11 general hospitals located in J city from November 1st, 2016 to January 31st, 2017, using structured self-administered questionaries without respondents' personal information. The hierarchical multiple regression analysis shows the following results. The occupational stress of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in following groups: a group in which organizational justice-distributive is lower, a group in which self-esteem is lower, a group in which self-efficacy is lower. The results show explanatory power of 39.5%. The results of the study indicate that the efforts, to increase organizational justice-distributive, to increase self-esteem, to increase self- efficacy, are required to decrease the occupational stress among GHAS. These results are expected to be utilized for organizational and personnel management to reduce occupational stress in GHAS. In the following study, the research of additional factors and the analysis of structural equation model about the occupational stress among GHAS will be needed.

The Influence of Management's Leadership Style on Employee's Turnover Intention (병원경영자의 리더십 유형이 병원근무자의 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • These days, the hospital management are paying more and more attention to the issue about the increasing employee's turnover ratio in hospital. Such issues are very important because the high turnover ratio reduce the productivity and morale of remaining workers, and means the unavoidable drainage of the accumulated know-how and technology of the hospital to the outsides. The result of such a negative development means the loss of competitive advantage compare to other hospitals. The purpose of this paper is to investigate how the management's leadership style influence on the job-satisfaction for the employees and the employee's turnover intension. At this time we will refer the effect of the hospital brand image as moderator. The result of this study could present the guide line to the hospital managers about the desirable leadership style to enhance the employee's productivity and also to reduce the turnover intention ratio.

Influencing Factors of University Research Grant: Focusing on the Management Capability of Industry-University Collaboration Foundation (대학 연구비 규모의 영향 요인 분석: 산학협력단의 연구비 관리 역량을 중심으로)

  • The aim of this study is to shed light on factors that influence securing of university research grants. For this purpose, this study emphasizes the role of management capability of industry-university cooperation foundation in securing research grants. We analyze whether the potential capabilities influence research grants using panel data from 194 universities during 2016 to 2018. The results obtained from the Driscoll & Kraay standard errors (DKSE) indicate that a number of variables including the portion of industry-university collaboration professors, academic performance of professors, and the number of paid researchers are positively associated with the amount of external research grant approved. However, the percentage of employees employed for less than two years is negatively related with securing external research grants. Once the dependent variable is measured by the total university research grants, the negative coefficient of employees with short-term career disappears. Instead, the percentage of employees who are in charge of research planning and management and the total number of employees involved in industry-university collaboration foundations are negatively related with the total university research grant amounts.
