  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate factors affecting the job embeddedness of workers in the manufacturing industry. Methods: The survey was conducted on 261 workers of the manufacturing industry in P city and Y city with the help of a structured self-report questionnaire, administered between June 10 and June 30, 2017. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a t-test, ANOVA, a $Scheff{\acute{e}}s$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: There were significant differences in job embeddedness according to educational level, marital status, jobs and types of employment, satisfaction with salary, stress level, and the perceived health status of the subjects. There were significant positive correlations between role clarity of job demands (r=.45), leader member exchange (r=.48), recovery experience from job stress (r=.27), and job embeddedness. From the multiple regression analysis, the most significant factors affecting job embeddedness were found to be leader member exchange (${\beta}=.43$), recovery experience from job stress (${\beta}=.22$), and job demand (${\beta}=.15$). These variables explained 35.0% of the total variance in job embeddedness. Conclusion: In order to increase job embeddedness of workers in the manufacturing industry, it is necessary to prepare measures to increase job demand, leader member exchange, and recovery experience from job stress.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the reliability and the validity of the Korean Occupational Stress Scale(KOSS) in occupational therapists. The data were collected from 214 occupational therapists by using the Korean Occupational Stress Scale. The gathered data were conducted the factor analyses and validation process to ascertain the validity. The results of this study suggested that to estimate occupational stress of occupational therapist, modified version of the KOSS which was consist of eight subscales might be more an appropriate measurement scale than the original version of the KOSS which was composed of seven subscales. Eight subscales of the scale were occupational climate, organizational system, insufficient job control, lack of reward, job demand, interpersonal conflict, job ability and job insecurity, and out of these, job ability was newly added for occupational therapist. Also the results indicated that Cronbach's alpha score of this measurement tool was 0.84, and it means that internal consistency of this scale has good reliability, and the number of questions are also valid. This study has significance to suggest necessary psychometric characteristics of the occupational stress scale for job stress study in occupational therapist.

In Korean workers, the rate of occupational stress was 87.8% which was the highest level among OECD countries(average 80.0%). The purpose of this study was to examine the empirical verification of the Korean Occupational Stress Scale(KOSS) in physical therapists. For this purpose, the subject of this study was set up physical therapists who were working at Gyeonggi province and collected from 388 persons by using purposive sampling. The collected data was conducted explanatory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis in order to ascertain factor structure and practical verification of KOSS. Major results were as following: first, the reliability of KOSS was 0.83, and it means that a measure of internal consistency is high. Second, the KOSS result of physical therapists was composed 7 subscales(job demand, insufficient job control, job insecurity, interpersonal conflict, occupational system and lack of reward, organizational climate) and that is more appropriate measurement scale than the original one by using explanatory/confirmatory factor analysis. This study could be contributed as a tool for evaluation and outcome of the basic information of related occupational stress in physical therapists.

The data was obtained from the 2009 APNs' job satisfaction survey of 452 nurses who received the certificate of APN between 2005 and 2008 conducted by the Korean Accreditation Board of Nursing Education. ANOVA and t-test analyses using SPSS version 14.0 were performed. The average job satisfaction level of the APNs was 2.94 out of 5.00. APNs who were performing jobs as a certified APN had a higher level of job satisfaction (t=.23, p<.001), higher wages (t=2.23, p<.05), promotion in rank (t=2.56, p<.05), more professional job performance (t=10.52, p<.001), greatest trust in their bosses and coworkers (t=5.31, p<.001), and higher confidence in their job performance (t=5.07, p<.001) than those who were not. The government and the nursing community need to provide the APNs' with the appropriate supply and demand polices, as well as a proper incentive system and job improvement.

  • This study examines the role of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) activity recognition on job satisfaction, prosocial activities, and job performance among customer representatives working in call center environments. After gathering data from 264 call center workers in major South Korean insurance companies, the analysis w as performed using SmartPLS 4.0. This study's findings reveal that employee recognition of ESG activities significantly enhanced job satisfaction. The impact of ESG activity recognition on prosocial behavior was positive but relatively weak. Job satisfaction influences both prosocial behavior and the job performance of employees. Finally, prosocial behavior positively influences job performance. The most significant finding is that employees' recognition of companies' ESG management practices serves as a job resource. This recognition enhances employees' attitudes, behavior, and performance, signaling the potential benefits of informing employees about corporations' ethical behaviors.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the factors influencing burnout of nurses in long-term care hospitals based on the expanded JD-R model (Xanthopoulou et al, 2007). Participants were 167 nurses who worked in long-term care hospitals. The instruments used in this study were the Maslach Burnout Inventory, Copenhagen Psycho-social Questionnaire version II, Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and the instrument developed by Thomas and Ganster (1995). Data were collected from August 25 to September 6, 2018 and analyzed based on frequency, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and hierarchical regression using the SPSS WIN 23.0 program. The results were as follows: Nurses' burnout in long-term care hospitals was positively correlated with job demands (r=.24, p=.002) and negatively correlated with resilience (r=-.43, p<.001) and social support (r=-.41, p<.001). Factors influencing the level of burnout were resilience (${\beta}=-.28$, p<.001), social support (${\beta}=-.20$, p=.016), and job demands (${\beta}=.17$, p=.016) ), which together explained 32.0% of the total variance in burnout. Therefore, we strongly recommend interventions that reduce job demands and enhance resilience and social support to prevent and reduce the burnout of nurses in long-term care hospitals.
