The Effect of Job Stress and Self-Efficacy on the Turnover Intention of Disability Assistance Workers:Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Job Engagement (장애인활동지원사의 직무스트레스와 자기효능감이 이직의도에 미치는 영향 연구: 직무몰입 매개효과)

  • This study aims to contribute to overcoming difficulties that disability assistance workers experience by verifying the effect of job stress and self-efficacy on their turnover intentions, and whether job engagement has a mediating effect in the process. For this purpose, a survey was performed on 290 disability assistance workers associated with disability support organizations in the Seoul and Gyeonggi area during the period of 2019.5.1.-2019.6.30. The collected survey data was analyzed with the SPSS 24.0 statistical software, the results of which are as follows. First, job stress and self-efficacy appears to affect job engagement. High levels of conflict and maladjustment in the workplace had adverse effects on job engagement, while high levels of emotional, evaluative, and informational support had positive effects. Second, job stress and self-efficacy also had an effect on turnover intentions. High levels of conflict, instability, and maladjustment in the workplace led to a higher level of turnover intentions. Third, job engagement had a mediating effect between job stress and turnover intentions. Fourth, job engagement had no mediating effect between self-efficacy and turnover intentions. These results serve to propose practical measures to reduce the job stress and improve the job engagement of disability assistance workers.

The Mediating Effects of the Social Support and Ego-resilience of Adolescent Counselors on the Relationship between their Job Stress and Burnout (청소년상담자의 직무스트레스와 소진의 관계에서 사회적 지지와 자아탄력성의 매개효과)

  • The aim of this study is to examine the mediating effects of the social support and ego-resilience of adolescent counselors on the relationship between their job stress and burnout. The subjects of this research exercise comprised 250 adolescent counselors. Data were analyzed by means of Pearson's correlation and by structural equation modeling. The results were as follows. First, there was a positive correlation between job stress and burnout, and job stress had a negative correlation with social support and ego-resilience of the adolescent counselors. Moreover, social support and ego-resilience had a negative correlation with burnout. Second, social support did not have any direct impact on relieving burnout yet affected it in an indirect way through ego-resilience. Ego-resilience exerted both direct and indirect influence on reducing burnout. Therefore, it was found that the ego-resilience of the adolescent counselors was bound up with their job stress and there by exercised a significant influence on burnout. The findings of the study illustrated that as for the relationships among the job stress, social support, ego-resilience and burnout of the adolescent counselors, ego-resilience was a crucial variable in preventing burnout. This study is of significance in that it provided theoretical data which can be used when developing programs designed to prevent burnout in adolescent counselors.

The Convergence Influence of Emotional Labor of clinical dental hygienist working on Job stress. -Focused on Mediating Effects of Self Esteem- (임상치과위생사의 감정노동이 직무스트레스에 미치는 융합적 영향 -자아존중감의 매개효과를 중심으로-)

  • The study, was conducted to become conscious of the impact of emotional labour on dental hygienists' self-esteem with job stress. Participants were 205 dental hygienist's in the dental clinic. Data were gathered from Jan 3 to Jan 30, 2016, using structured questionnaires. The analysis shows that there was a negative correlation with self-esteem in emotional labour, however, positive correlation was presented in employment stress. It also appears to have no relationship between self-esteem and job stress. Therefore, emotional labour has a direct effect on increasing job stress and lowers self-esteem. The lowered self-esteem simultaneously has an indirect effect on increasing job stress. The measures to counter the problems of emotional labour of dental hygienist and education considering dental hygenist's self-esteem should be accomplished place to maintain the level of emotional labour and the clinic's determination to rectify the issues are essential.

Effect of Music Listening on Convergent Job Stress of Fire-Fighter (소방공무원의 융합적 직무스트레스에 대한 음악감상효과)

  • This study is a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design to verify the effect of music listening on convergent job stress of experimental group of 40 who are listening to music 10 times and control group of 40 who are taking a rest in fire-fighters. Homogeneity test and distribution of high risk and low risk were analyzed using Chi-test and the effect of listening to music on job stress was analyzed using t-test with SPSS 22.0 program. The experimental group showed a decreased job stress more significantly than the control group. Therefore, job stress intervention program should be developed and practical and systematical approach to reduce the job stress using music listening aggressively should be prepared in the future based on this study's result.

Job Stress, Job Satisfaction, and Organizational Commitment of Customized Home Health Care Nurse (방문건강관리 간호사의 직무스트레스, 직무만족도와 조직애착도)

  • Objectives: This research was done to identify relationships among job stress, fatigue, job satisfaction, and commitment to organization in customized home health care nurses. Methods: Research participants were 130 nurses who worked in the customized home health care of 20 county in Gyeongnam province. Data collection for this descriptive correlational study was done at August 2010 using self report questionnaires, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and we analyzed a four step approach in which several regression analyses were conducted and significance of the coefficients is examined at each step. Results: The results from step 1 showed that, the effect of each job stress was significantly related to job satisfaction. In step 2, the direct effect of commitment to organization on job satisfactions were all significant too. Step 3 analysis showed that the total effect of each job stress on commitment to organization symptoms was significant. Step 4 showed the results of controlling for mediating factor (job satisfaction): job demand and insecurity were significantly associated with commitment to organization(p<0.001), the finding supports that others were fully mediated by each job satisfaction, and, the job demand and insecurity were partially mediated by job satisfaction. Conclusion: Results of this research indicated that job stress in customized home health care nurses was the principal variable affecting job satisfaction and commitment to organization. Appropriate stress management strategies based on assessment of job demand and job security for these nurses lead to development of improved commitment to organization.

The Reality Therapy Program Effect for Reducing The Occupational Stress in Company Employee (직장인의 현실요법 프로그램이 직무스트레스 감소에 미치는 효과)

  • This study research the effect that the reality therapy program reduces the occupational stress in company employee. The subjects of this research were company employees aged 30 to 49 in the A area and they work more than 2 years in company. They were divided into two groups: an experimental group of 10 company employee, and a control groups of 10 company employee. and executed the program to the experiment group. A measurement tool was used a standard occupational stress scale for korean employee that developed by The Korean Society of Occupational Stress. For the purpose of the study, it was t-test to analyze collected data. The result of the study was that the occupational stress in an experiment group which take part in the reality therapy program was meaning statistically reduced than the control group by p<.001. In the subordinate measure of occupational stress, the occupational demand, organization system, requital inappropriateness score has a significant result by p<.01 and the occupational self-regulation, relation discord, and occupational insecurity score has a significant result by p<.05. In sum, the occupational stress score of treatment group which take part in the reality program reduce significantly than the scores of control group. Thus, the reality therapy program significantly effect to reduced the company employee's occupational stress.

A Study on the Effects of Mindset on the Cabin Crew's Stress and Job Performance (마인드셋이 객실승무원의 스트레스, 직무성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of the mindset on stress and job performance. For the analysis, a questionnaire is conducted for cabin crew members in K airlines, and a total of 266 copies are used for the final analysis. To verify the hypotheses of the study, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, measurement model analysis, validation of the measuremen model, and structural equation model analysis are used based on the questionnaire. First, it is confirmed that the mindset had a negative (-) effect on the cabin crew's role stress, reward stress and relationship stress. Second, it is found that cabin crew's reward stress have a negative (-) effect on job performance. On the other hand, relationship stress is found to have a positive influence on job performance and there is no significant result in effect with role stress. Third, the mindset showes a significant positive impact relationship on job performance. As a result, it is necessary to introduce a mindset intervention program so that it can be applied in practical work. These research results confirm the positive effects of mindsets and show that they contribute to organizational performance. In addition, it is necessary to prepare a program to change the mindset of airline cabin crew and to be applied in actual work.

Study on the Work Stress, Burnout and Compassion Satisfaction of the Estheticians (피부미용사의 직무스트레스와 소진 및 공감만족에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of work stress, burnout and compassion satisfaction of the estheticians. The sample consisted of 268 estheticians from esthetic-shop located in Seoul and Gyung-gi province. The questionnaire was organized into 4 items of general traits, 24 items of KOSS, and 10 items of burnout and compassion satisfaction from proQOL. Results show that estheticians experienced a greater than moderate degree of job stress, compassion satisfaction burnout, whereas differences existed according to general characteristics. but group was included in the top 75% of the factor on when compared to the Korean occupational stress scale. It is foreseeable that the burnout caused by the work of a estheticians is not small at all. This study is expected to be used as basic data in finding ways to reduce job stress and burnout of estheticians.

An Impact Analysis of Information Security Professional's Job Stress and Job Satisfaction to Turnover Intention: Moderation of Organizational Justice (정보보호인력의 직무스트레스와 직무만족이 이직의도에 미치는 영향분석: 조직공정성의 조절효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to empirically verify the relationship of how job stress and job satisfaction of information security professionals affect turnover intention, a precursor of actual turnover. The moderation effect of organizational justice is also explored within these causal relationships. This empirical analysis used 150 responses from information security professionals within 4 different industries. The analysis result from survey responses shows that job stress increases turnover intention, and job satisfaction decreases turnover intention, and that interactional justice, a subordinate concept of organizational justice, has a negative moderating effect at the relationship between job stress and turnover intention. The moderating effect of interactional justice, which can reduce turnover intention with warm words from managers or colleagues even when information security professionals who respond to emergencies such massive incidents are with high job stress, is a piece of important knowledge for information security managers. To reduce voluntary turnover of information security professionals from the organizational perspective, making efforts to lower job stress and raise job satisfaction and interactional justice is necessary.

Convergence Influence of Clinical Nurses' Resilience to the Job Stress, Turnover intention and Vitality (임상간호사의 직무스트레스, 이직의도 및 생동성이 리질리언스(Resilience)에 미치는 융복합적 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine relationships among resilience and job Stress, turnover intention and vitality in general hospital nurses and to provide the basic data for the development of resilience intervention programs. The data were collected from 140 nurses working in the four general hospital located S and Y city using self-reported questionnaires and February 1 2017 to February 17 2017. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, T-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression with SPSS 20.0 program. Resilience was found to be in a significant positive correlation with job stress, turnover intention and vitality. The result of the multiple regression indicates that work pattern and vitality predict 31%(F=10.01, p<.001) of resilience. Therefore it is necessary to develop convergence program to strengthen the resilience of clinical nurses'.
