  • Anti-skin aging agent could be have an inhibition effect of ROS production as well as fragmentation and change of collagen cross linkage in collagen molecule. For the monitoring of lipid peroxidation and collagen degradation, the skin of young and old rats were incised and observed 7 days. In the result, the wound closure was observed in the skin from 10 of 11 young rats and in 8 of 11 old rats. And the longer wound length but shorter wound closure, weaker collagen density and thicker epidermis were observed in old rats than in young rats. The level of hydroxyproline as a parameter of collagen synthesis and MDA as a parameter of lipid peroxidation was lower in old group than in young group. The cyst and lacuna between collagen bundle and fibroblast were observed in old rats in contrast to young rats. So that we propose that MDA and hydroxyproline could be used for monitoring of anti-skin aging agent.

  • In this paper, we propose a set of robustness indicators for immersive 360-degree video. With the full-fledged service of mobile carriers' 5G networks, it is possible to use large-capacity, immersive 360-degree videos at high speed anytime, anywhere. Since it can be illegally distributed in web-hard and torrents through DRM dismantling and various video modifications, however, evaluation indicators that can objectively evaluate the filtering performance for copyright protection are required. In this paper, a robustness indicators is proposed that applies the existing 2D Video robustness indicators and considers the projection method and reproduction method, which are the characteristics of Immersive 360-degree Video. The performance evaluation experiment has been carried out for a sample filtering system and it is verified that an excellent recognition rate of 95% or more has been achieved in about 3 second execution time.

  • We conducted test blasting in 3 sites to identify the effect on safety of the earth retaining wall by near blasting vibration. As a test result, we confirm that underground structures(earth anchor et al.) are relatively safer than surface structures as the underground vibration is 10~52% of surface vibration at a same distance. We derived surface and underground vibration prediction equations by regression analysis of measured 3 sites' surface and underground vibration PPV. Also we calculated minimum separation distance by blasting pattern about underground and surface curing concrete. Unless any discontinuity which are unsafe on the earth retaining wall appear, blasting work using under 2.4kg per delay is not meaningful to the earth retaining wall's safety as the result of measuring near blasting vibration, confirming change the earth retaining wall's instrument, and observation of structural deformation.

  • The wavy extinction of quartz grains can be used as a good indicator to show the degree of rock deformation. To determine degree of the rock deformation, intensity of wavy extinction (IWE) of quartz grains was measured by using polarizing microscope, digital camera, and NIH image (or Scion Image). In this experiment, the measurement was performed along the line perpendicular to the subgrain boundary of wavy extinction. IWE was measured when a quartz grain shows maximum extinction in polarizing microscope. NIH image was represented in terms of 256 gray-scale brightness, which was associated with intensity of the wavy extinction. IWE was determined by the degree of brightness versus the measuring length of a quartz grain. IWE was analysed in the distribution chart with the collection unit of 5. Regarding the characteristics of data distribution, the median between the mode and the median of the histogram is defined as a representative value for the IWE, and this value is subdivided into the five levels of rock deformation zones (lowest- or non-, low-, medium-, high-, and highest deformation) with their respective indices (D1, D2, D3, D4, and D5). The correlation between the Eonyang Granite and the Yangsan Fault was investigated by using the indices. The results indicate that IWE values decreased away from the fault.

  • Wave-front error(WFE) is the main parameter that determines the optical performance of the opto-mechanical system. In the development of opto-mechanics, WFE due to the main loading conditions are set to the important specifications. The deformation of the optical surface can be exactly calculated thanks to the evolution of numerical methods such as the finite element method(FEM). To calculate WFE from the deformation results of FEM, another approximation of the optical surface deformation is required. It needs to construct additional grid or element mesh. To construct additional mesh is troublesomeand leads to transformation error. In this work, the moving least-squares approximation is used to reconstruct wave front error It has the advantage of accurate approximation with only nodal data. There is no need to construct additional mesh for approximation. The proposed method is applied to the examples of GOCI scan mirror in various loading conditions. The validity is demonstrated through examples.

  • aThe elastic properties of the fault zone (width; 3~12m), the shattered zone (width; over 40m) and the fresh rock zone distributed under the core foundation of fill dam in granitic gneiss have widely different range. The deformation moduli of the fresh rock zone, the fault zone and the shattered zone obtained from in situ rock tests - Plate Load Test and Bore Hole Deformation Test - show a range of $42,000~168,000kg/\textrm{cm}^2,{\;}963~2,204kg/\textrm{cm}^2{\;}and{\;}1,238~2,098kg/\textrm{cm}^2$, respectively. The differential settlements hetween the fault zone and the fresh rock zone are expected after the dam construction. Therefore, the displacement of foundation and concrete fill are evaluated using FEADAM 84 program of finite element analysis. The geometric distribution of discontinuifies obtained from the site mapping and drilling is considered in the finite element analysis. The analysis shows that the differential settlements between the fault zone and the fresh rock zone is about 6cm, while that of concrete fill is within 0.5cm.

  • The quality of service on urban roadways have been evaluated mainly based on such quantitative measures as travel speed and delay. However, in addition to the quantitative aspects, drivers traveling on urban roadways are subject to be influenced by qualitative measures such as aesthetic aspects of the roadway and other drivers' violation of traffic laws. Based on this notion, this study attempts to identify roadway service quality indices, considering both qualitative and quantitative aspects and evaluate the quality of service using the modified Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA), a technique often applied in the field of marketing. The modified IPA is proposed in this study as a way to evaluate the service quality, reflecting the relative performance between study areas and performance indices. A case study is implemented over the Gangnam and Gangbuk areas in Seoul, resulting in identifying the items needed to be improved for each study area.

  • When the ground is excavated near the pre-existing structures due to the region restricted condition such as urban area, the ground will be released by the excavation and the temporary wall will be deformed depending on the earth pressure. In this case, issues can be created in terms of stability of pre-existing structures. Firstly, the laboratory model tests were carried out to investigate the ground surface settlement due to the ground excavation according to the excavation methods in this study. Using the ground surface settlement results from model tests, numerical analyses were carried out to study the structure deformation due to the ground excavation according to the excavation methods. Finally, using the structure deformation results from numerical analysis, the damage assessment of structures was carried out by using the strain damage estimation criterion.

  • A new index for the buckling strength of non-structured plates is proposed. The external work or the deformation energy caused by the external loads or the boundary displacement controled by a load parameter is calculated along an equilibrium path of the member under consideration. If the second variation of the energy with respect to the parameter loses its positiveness, it defined as the limit of the stability. In contrast to the current method given in codes where the stability limit is evaluated by using only representative internal forces, the evaluation of the stability limit is always consistent even with the change of the distribution of the internal forces on the boundary. If the elasticity is concerned, the result from this proposed approach becomes identical to that from the classical methods.

  • Excavation work in urban areas can induce ground deformation, which may damage nearby infrastructure. Such ground deformation can result in displacement of paving blocks near the construction site. Accurate measurement of these displacements can serve as an indicator for assessing the potential risks associated with ground deformation. This paper proposes a robust and efficient method for paving block displacement measurement using a 3D laser line sensor mounted on an Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV). The proposed method consists of two stages: 2D projection based object detection and measurement through the CPLF algorithm. Experimental results demonstrate that the CPLF algorithm is more efficient compared to the PLF algorithm, achieving an error of 1.36 mm and a processing time of 10.76 ms, confirming that the proposed method ensures robust online measurements with high accuracy in real-world environments with various types of paving blocks and environmental factors using a 3D laser line sensor on a UGV.
