  • 2011년 동일본 지진해일의 영향으로 우리나라에도 지진해일에 관한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이러한 지진해일은 대규모 자연재해로써 한 번 발생하면 수많은 인명피해와 막대한 재산피해를 발생시킨다. 또한, 근래에 들어 세계적으로 해저지진의 발생빈도가 증가하는 추세이므로 이에 대한 대비책을 마련해둘 필요성이 있다. 하지만 이런 지진해일은 발생시점에 대한 예측이 불가능하기 때문에 역사 및 가상 지진해일의 수치모형실험결과를 이용하여 영향을 검토한다. 본 연구에서는 부산항 신항이 완공되면 추후 발전가능성이 높은 송도와 연도지역에 대해서 지진해일에 의한 최대 처오름높이와 최저 처내림높이를 계산하였으며, 모두 3가지 지진해일에 대해 수치모의 하였다.

Application of the JMA instrumental intensity in Korea (일본 기상청 계측진도의 국내 활용)

  • In general, the seismic intensity deduced from instrumental data has been evaluated from the empirical relation between the intensity and the PGA. From the point of view that the degree of earthquake damage is more closely associated with the seismic intensity than with the observed PGA, JMA developed the instrumental seismic intensity (JMA instrumental intensity) meter that estimate the real-time seismic intensity from the observed strong motion data to obtain a more correct estimate of earthquake damage. The purpose of the present study is to propose a practical application of the JMA instrumental intensity in Korea. Since the occurrence of strong earthquakes is scarce in the Korean Peninsula, there is an insufficiency of strong motion data. As a result, strong motion data were synthesized by a stochastic procedure to satisfy the characteristics of a seismic source and crustal attenuation of the Peninsula. Six engineering ground motion parameters, including the JMA instrumental intensity, were determined from the synthesized strong motion data. The empirical relations between the ground motion parameters were then analyzed. Cluster analysis to classify the parameters into groups was also performed. The result showed that the JMA acceleration ($a_0$) could be classified into similar group with the spectrum intensity and the relatively distant group with the CAV (Cumulative Absolute Velocity). It is thought that the $a_0$ or JMA intensity can be used as an alternative criterion in the evaluation of seismic damage. On the other hand, attenuation relation equations for PGA and $a_0$ to be used in the prediction of seismic hazard were derived as functions of the moment magnitude and hypocentral distance.

  • The ground-motion (GM) attenuation relations available in Korea has required the validation process for large earthquakes since most of them were developed based on small earthquake database, The Fukuoka earthquake (M=7.0) that occurred near the Korean Peninsula provides invaluable data to indirectly evaluate the attenuation characteristics of the strong GM in Korea. The GM levels (PGA, SA) obtained from the KIK-net downhole stations near the epicenter (R<100km) are reasonably predicted by the GM attenuation relation developed by KEPRI in 2003 for the Kori NPP site, the result of which validates the use of KEPRI GM attenuation relation for predicting GM induced by future large earthquakes. Also, the comparison between the Osaki spectra and response spectra of KIK-net downhole data reveals that the amplitude levels of Osaki spectra are higher than the spectra from KIK-net stations which are believed to be installed at the seismic basement.

  • The purpose of application of moment tensor inversion method is to determine source parameters, such as, focal mechanism, seismic moment and source depth. This paper presents results of focal mechanism solutions of 14 recent events with magnitudes ranging from M3.3 to M4.8 by using moment tensor inversion method called TDMT_INV. The strike of faults is in the direction of NE-SW and NW-SE with the movement of strike-slip or strike-slip of minor reverse component. The compressional axis of the stress field is predominantly E-W or ENE-WSW except for some faults, which are distributed at Ryongnam Massif and Wonsan, they have a compressional axis of N-S or NNW-SSE.

  • Most of the sign systems involved in evacuation are not useful in seismic situations where people have to evacuate with their heads bowed, given that they are at the top of the wall. Based on the analysis and understanding of seismic evacuation situations, this study proposes a sign system as a measure for rapid seismic evacuation. First, understand the seismic situation based on the video analysis of the earthquake evacuation situation. Second, the need for a sign system to help secure evacuation in earthquake situations was derived. Third, the on-site survey examined the suitability of the Sine system installed in Korea as an escape facility for the earthquake evacuation situation. Based on the video analysis and on-site survey, it was concluded that the installation of escape guidance lamps alone could not induce rapid evacuation in the earthquake situation. In this study, a sign system is proposed to help the use of doors by installing a sign system near an emergency exit light.

  • The seismic fragility analysis method has been used as a quantitative seismic safety evaluation method for the NPP(Nuclear Power Plant) structures and equipments. The seismic fragility analysis gives a realistic seismic capacity excluding the convertism included in the design stage. The conservatism is considered as the probabilistic parameters related to the response and capacity in the seismic fragility analysis. In this study, the displacement based seismic fragility analysis method was proposed based on the nonlinear dynamic analysis results. In this study, the seismic safety of the prestressed concrete containment building of KSNP(Korean Standard Nuclear Power Plant) was evaluated for the scenario earthquakes, neat-fault, far-fault, design earthquake and probability based scenario earthquake, which can be occurred in the NPP sites.

A Study on the Dynamic Behaviour of Cut-and-Cover Tunnel by Shaking Table Test (진동대 실험을 이용한 개착식터널의 동적 거동특성에 관한 연구)

  • This research is aimed at investigating the dynamic response of cut-and-cover tunnel to seismic waves. We carried out shaking table test which is used a 1/40-scale(the width of prototype tunnel is about 14.2m, the height is about 8.5m) model for this research, and we analyzed the effect of depth of tunnel and slope of the ground in relation to the dynamic responses of tunnel. As a result of the test, the stress and acceleration along the tunnel decreased accordingly to the depth of increment, and this phenomenon is caused by the increase of the confining effect of ground. Also, the dynamic responses of tunnel showed a tendency to rise according as ground declined gently. In comparison the result of shaking table test with that of structural analysis on ordinary condition, we conclude that seismic waves do not affect cut-and-cover tunnel when the depth of tunnel is over the diameter of tunnel.

  • 지진해일은 많은 인명피해를 입힐 수 있는 위험한 자연재해이며, 예를 들어 각각 약 25만명과 약 2만명의 사상자가 발생하였던 2004년 수마트라 지진해일과 2011년 동일본 지진해일 등이 있다. 우리나라 동해안 또한 향후 지진 발생 가능성이 큰 지진공백역이 존재하여 안전한 지역으로 볼 수 없다. 지진해일 방재대책 수립과 관련된 연구는 지속적으로 이루어지고 있지만 지진해일의 발생빈도는 적고 완벽히 대응하는 것은 현실적으로 불가능하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 지진해일 방재대책의 가장 기본적인 자료로 이용될 수 있는 지진해일 침수예상도를 효율적인 방법으로 제작하는 것을 연구했다. 현재 우리나라의 지진해일 최대 침수예상도는 과거 및 향후 발생가능한 지진해일의 경우에 대한 모든 범람구역이 고려된 보수적인 방법으로 제작되고 있다. 지진원의 위치와 각 매개변수의 특성에 따라 범람구역이 다양하게 나타날 수 있기 때문에 보수적인 최대 침수예상도는 과도한 범람구역이 고려될 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 보수적인 최대 침수예상도와 비교하여 AI기술과 로직트리 기법을 통해 더 정확한 최대 침수예상도를 제작하는 것을 목표로 한다. 연구방법은 1) 고려된 모든 지진해일 시나리오에 대한 수치해석 2) 입력자료인 지진해일 초기수면 변위 이미지 증강 3) CNN모델을 활용한 초기수면 변위 이미지 분류 4) 분류된 결과의 범람 구역으로 최대 침수예상도를 제작하였다. 향후 연구결과는 지진해일 재해정보도 제작 및 지진해일 침수예측 모델 개발에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • 지진해일이 발생하여 먼 거리를 전파할 때 코리올리스 힘이 지진해일의 거동에 매우 큰 영향을 준다. 또한 지진해일은 파장에 비해 파고가 작은 장파이기 때문에 먼 거리를 이동하는 지진해일의 해석에는 코리올리스 효과가 반영된 선형 천수방정식을 사용하는 것이 적절하다. 본 연구에서는 구면좌표계에서 유한차분기법을 사용하여 지진해일의 거동을 모의하였다. 대상 지진해일은 1983년 동해 중부 지진해일이다. 관측된 결과를 본 연구에서의 모의 결과와 비교하였다.
