Design and Implementation of NVM-based Concurrent Journaling Scheme (저널링 파일 시스템을 위한 비휘발성 메모리 기반 병행적 저널링 기법의 설계 및 구현)

  • A single write operation in a file system can modify multiple data, but these changes in the file system are not atomically written to disk. Thus, for the consistency of the file system, conventional journaling guarantees crash consistency instead of sacrificing the system performance. It is known that using non-volatile memory as a journal space can alleviate performance degradation due to low latency and byte-level accessibility of non-volatile memory. However, none of the journaling techniques considering non-volatile memory provide scalability. In this paper, journal space on non-volatile memory is divided into multiple regions for scalable journaling, thus dispersing concentrated operations in one region. Second, the journal area-specific operator structure is used to accelerate data write operations to storage devices. We apply the proposed technique to JFS to evaluate it on multi-core servers equipped with high-performance storage devices. The evaluation results show that the proposed technique performs better than the existing technique of the NVM-based journaling file system.

A Study on High Speed Playback of AR Contents based on Beacon RSSI Signals (무선 RSSI 신호 기반의 AR 콘텐츠 초고속 재생에 관한 연구)

  • AR service using the client-server method and existing physical markers(eg, OR Codes, etc.) causes a delay in the playback time of the contents because the contents download is executed after the marker recognition. In the case of the one-time installation method rather than the client-server method, proactive download of high-capacity contents for playback may cause an inefficiency of the storage space of the device(eg, smartphone, etc.). Therefore, in AR contents playback based on beacon's RSSI to secure the efficiency of the playback device storage space and to quickly play AR contents. The technique for high-speed playback in this study can be applied to various fields such as MICE exhibition using beacon signal.

A Study on Stowage Automation Algorithm for Cargo Stowage Optimization of Vehicle Carriers (차량 운반선의 화물 적재 최적화를 위한 적재 자동화 알고리즘 연구)

  • With the development of the 4th industry, the logistics industry is evolving into a smart logistics system. However, ship work that transports vehicles is progressing slowly due to various problems. In this paper, we propose an stowage automation algorithm that can be used for cargo loading of vehicle carriers that shortens loading and unloading work time. The stowage automation algorithm returns the shortest distance by searching for a loading space and a movable path in the ship in consideration of the structure of the ship. The algorithm identifies walls, ramps and vehicles that have already been shipped, and can work even with randomly placed. In particular, it is expected to contribute to developing a smart logistics system for vehicle carriers by referring to the ship's master plan to search for vehicle loading and unloading space in each port and predict the shortest movable path.

  • The advent of 5G mobile communications, which is expected in 2020, will provide many services such as Internet of Things (IoT) and vehicle-to-infra/vehicle/nomadic (V2X) communication. There are many requirements to realizing these services: reduced latency, high data rate and reliability, and real-time service. In particular, a high level of reliability and delay sensitivity with an increased data rate are very important for M2M, IoT, and Factory 4.0. Around the world, 5G standardization organizations have considered these services and grouped them to finally derive the technical requirements and service scenarios. The first scenario is broadcast services that use a high data rate for multiple cases of sporting events or emergencies. The second scenario is as support for e-Health, car reliability, etc.; the third scenario is related to VR games with delay sensitivity and real-time techniques. Recently, these groups have been forming agreements on the requirements for such scenarios and the target level. Various techniques are being studied to satisfy such requirements and are being discussed in the context of software-defined networking (SDN) as the next-generation network architecture. SDN is being used to standardize ONF and basically refers to a structure that separates signals for the control plane from the packets for the data plane. One of the best examples for low latency and high reliability is an intelligent traffic system (ITS) using V2X. Because a car passes a small cell of the 5G network very rapidly, the messages to be delivered in the event of an emergency have to be transported in a very short time. This is a typical example requiring high delay sensitivity. 5G has to support a high reliability and delay sensitivity requirements for V2X in the field of traffic control. For these reasons, V2X is a major application of critical delay. V2X (vehicle-to-infra/vehicle/nomadic) represents all types of communication methods applicable to road and vehicles. It refers to a connected or networked vehicle. V2X can be divided into three kinds of communications. First is the communication between a vehicle and infrastructure (vehicle-to-infrastructure; V2I). Second is the communication between a vehicle and another vehicle (vehicle-to-vehicle; V2V). Third is the communication between a vehicle and mobile equipment (vehicle-to-nomadic devices; V2N). This will be added in the future in various fields. Because the SDN structure is under consideration as the next-generation network architecture, the SDN architecture is significant. However, the centralized architecture of SDN can be considered as an unfavorable structure for delay-sensitive services because a centralized architecture is needed to communicate with many nodes and provide processing power. Therefore, in the case of emergency V2X communications, delay-related control functions require a tree supporting structure. For such a scenario, the architecture of the network processing the vehicle information is a major variable affecting delay. Because it is difficult to meet the desired level of delay sensitivity with a typical fully centralized SDN structure, research on the optimal size of an SDN for processing information is needed. This study examined the SDN architecture considering the V2X emergency delay requirements of a 5G network in the worst-case scenario and performed a system-level simulation on the speed of the car, radius, and cell tier to derive a range of cells for information transfer in SDN network. In the simulation, because 5G provides a sufficiently high data rate, the information for neighboring vehicle support to the car was assumed to be without errors. Furthermore, the 5G small cell was assumed to have a cell radius of 50-100 m, and the maximum speed of the vehicle was considered to be 30-200 km/h in order to examine the network architecture to minimize the delay.

3D Sound Diffusion Control Using Wavelets (웨이블릿을 이용한 입체음향의 확산감 제어)

  • In this paper, we propose an idea for the improved 3-D sound system using conventional stereo headphones to obtain a better sound diffusion from the mono-sound recorded at an anechoic chamber. We use the HRTF(Head Related Transfer Function) for the sound localization and the wavelet filter bank with time delay for the sound diffusion. And we test the modified HRTF with the various sampling rate. We investigate the effects of the 3-D sound depending on the length of time delay at lowest frequency band. Also the correlation coefficient of the signals between the left channel and the right channel is measured to identify the sound diffusion. At last we obtain the diffusion sound using Cool Edit for reverberation.

  • PACS(Picture archiving communication system) is a system that enables medical images such as X -ray, CT, MRI, PET to be stored electronically viewed on computer screens so that doctors and other authorized people can access search the information as needed. But if they are not in hospital area for example on holiday or at night, that are not able to access the PACS system instantly. We have to solve this problem for more efficient patient care. So we try to suggest a method that use the PDA system that wireless LAN and CDMA cellular phone are equipped. This system may help to access easier to PACS system regardless of the location and can also attribute the development of telemedicne.

  • The major purpose of this study was to investigate chief's perception of institution management according to the types of the institution for the child care and education. The subjects for the analysis were 220 chiefs who actually run the institutions for the child care and education, including kindergarten, private nursery, group day care home, and private educational institute. The data were analyzed by the five different methods, which were frequency, percentage, chi-square test, one-way ANOVA and Scheffe test, using the 7.5 version of SPSSWIN program. The major research results were that (1) the chiefs of the institutions for the child care and education have suffered many difficulties in the administrative and financial respects ; (2) the main area in need of the government's assistance is either that of personnel expenses for teachers or that of expenditures necessary for improving their status ; and (3) on the whole chief's perception of institution management differed by the types of the institution for the child care and education.

Effective Recognition of Land Registration Map Using Fuzzy Inference (퍼지추론 기반의 효율적인 지적도면 인식)

  • This paper addressed a recognition method of land registration map based on fuzzy inference scheme, which is able to solve the time complexity problem of typical method [Fig. 2]. Not only line color, thickness but also number, character are used as a fuzzy input parameter. It concentrated on generation of fuzzy association map, and useful informations are extracted result from fuzzy inference. These results are precedent process for estimating the construction space and restoring 3D automatic modeling. It can also utilize to the internet service acceleration propulsion business such as u-Gov based land registration service.

  • At MMORPGs that has the numerous game users with many interactions at the same virtual world, massive loading that results in delays, resource shortages, and other such problems occur. To solve this, many developers devote research to load-balancing servers, yet due to steady and dynamic map divisions, such research is unreliable. This paper proposes a game user-oriented load balancing scheme for the load balancing of MMORPG servers. This scheme shows effectiveness at dealing with hot-spots and other gatherings of game users at specific servers compared to previous methods.

  • 본 연구에서는 화자의 음성신호를 이용하여 추출된 공간정보를 통해 화자의 위치를 실시간으로 추적하는 시스템을 제안하고 실시간 구현하였다. 기존의 대표적인 화자 위치 추출 알고리듬인 CPSP(Cross Power Spectrum Phase)는 실내환경에서 심각하게 일어나는 반향신호에 취약한 단점을 갖고 있으므로 구현된 시스템에서는 위치 추적 성능 개선을 위하여 반향신호에 강인한 hybrid window 알고리듬을 제안하여 적용하였다. Hybrid window 알고리듬은 실내 환경에 적합한 hybrid window를 설계하여 수신된 음성신호에 적용함으로써 반향신호에 의한 상호 상관관계를 줄이고 직접 경로에 의한 신호들의 상관관계를 높임으로써 보다 정확한 시간 지연 추정을 가능하게 한다. 제안된 시스템의 성능분석을 위해 DSP를 이용해 실시간 구현된 하드웨어를 이용해 기존의 CPSP 알고리듬과 제안된 hybrid window를 적용한 시스템을 실제 환경에서의 실험하였고 제안한 알고리듬을 적용한 시스템이 $22\%$ 이상 성공적으로 화자의 위치를 추적하였다.
