A Study on the Changing Role of Public Libraries by the Case Studies of Community of Practice (실행공동체 사례연구를 통한 공공도서관 역할 변화에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to demonstrate that public libraries help community to become an active 'Community of Practice(CoP)'. In order to prove this hypothesis, 'Libraries Transforming Communities(LTC)' initiative of American Library Association is analyzed. Public libraries participating in LTC program solved problems of communities through making CoPs by librarians as a catalyst. People's recognition about public libraries is altered by the problem-solving practice. The followings are 4-level transforming relationship model of public library and community: Leadership Development for Librarian CoPs; Librarian CoPs for improving library services; Community CoPs with library for solving problems; Community as CoP.

  • This study "The advance Study of human resource development Program Object for community Peoples in Information Society." that is too much important in Information society and IMF times. Human resource development is the process by which a community insures that it has the right number and kinds of peoples, in the right places at the right time, doing the things for which they are economically most useful. Suggestions for the Sustainability of Social Cooperatives (사회적 협동조합의 지속가능성을 위한 제언)

  • Recently, discussions about social economy have been actively promoted, and the establishment of social cooperatives, which is an axis of social economy, is being activated. However, because of the economic slowdown, social cooperative activities are often shrinking, and a case study is conducted on how to make social cooperatives sustainable. The results are as follows. In order for social cooperatives to cope with social change adaptation and market diversity, it is necessary to organize networks or participate in existing networks. It is also necessary that social cooperatives form different types of social cooperatives into separate organizational forms as needed. In addition, social cooperatives should make efforts to improve the quality of services and goods provided by each organization, and focus on attracting local people's empathy and participation to change the culture and atmosphere of the region. If such efforts are made, it will be possible for social cooperatives to become a sustainable economic organization.

A Study on Effect of Workplace Spirituality of Community Enterprise on Organizational Citizenship Behavior -Mediating Effects of Job Satisfaction- (마을기업에서의 일터영성이 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 - 직무만족을 매개효과로 -)

  • Community enterprise is a type of business that simultaneously pursues public interest and profitability to vitalize the local society and economy and also an alternative endeavor to restore community by local residents using local resources. In rapid changes of business environment and social dynamics of these days, one of the alternatives to provide solutions for problems in persons and organizations is workplace spirituality. Workplace spirituality is not only beneficial to satisfaction, commitment, devotion, and organizational citizenship behavior, but also positively influential to outcome of an organization. Expanding the scope and subjects found in most previous studies on workplace spirituality of general companies, this study tries to contribute to development of community enterprises through empirical analysis of the effect of community enterprise. In result, workplace spirituality showed positively significant influence on job satisfaction, organizational citizenship behavior equally in both of community enterprises and general companies. Job satisfaction presented positively significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. And job satisfaction mediated the relationship between workplace spirituality and organizational citizenship behavior. In addition, workplace spirituality of community enterprises showed difference from general companies showed greater coefficient and influence. Although workplace spirituality is important for general companies that pursue profit, it is shown that greater significance was found in community enterprises. Workplace spirituality, which is equivalent to A sense of calling, sense of inner life, sense of empathy, sense of community, and sense of transcendence through community enterprise, needs to be promoted and settled in community enterprises.

The Investigatory Study about The Project Process of Community Building Leaded by Community Welfare Centers (지역사회복지관이 주도하는 마을만들기 사업 과정에 관한 탐색적 연구 : 사회복지관 실무자의 경험을 중심으로)

  • This study is to deeply investigate the process experience of making the local organization with the supervisors and the social workers-in-field with the research question, 'how is the project process of community building leaded by community welfare centers'. For this, 6 community welfare centers were selected among 22 ones participated in the public contest of Seoul Welfare Foundation, and 15 line workers including the top supervisors working there were selected as the research participants and interviewed. The interview source materials of research participants were analyzed using the method of consistent comparison of Strauss and Corbin(1996). According to the result of the research, the project process of community building leaded by community welfare centers indicated 4 phases such as 'the step of change of recognition', 'the step of mutual communication', 'the step of cooperation expansion', and 'initiative construction'. With the result of this study, I supposed political and practical tasks for promoting that local residents voluntarily build the community and the change of paradigm that is community welfare centers for local residents. Also, this study will be relevant that the result of this study is offered as base line data for extending theoretical and practical discussion about building community depending on characteristic of community and community welfare centers.

  • The purpose of this study is to grope for the improving the management in order that Korea community centers may put better welfare services to community residents. Community welfare center is a professional social welfare agency that meets welfare needs of community residents by offering synthetical and various welfare services in community according to social, economical, cultural, regional background. Community welfare center was established for clearing up the conflict between social classes after Industrial Revolution in England, for solving problems of women movement and immigration in America, for different purpose in other countries. But there is no difference between countries in the sense of welfare services activities centering around poor community though each purpose are different. It can be known that community center must perform the function as social welfare professional agency which aimed at community care program. Resource which are needed for management of community center are mostly in community and community center must strive to get resources which are in community. But all the weakness of finance and facility which community center has may not be solved by using community resources. Community welfare center is not fixated yet in Korea. And community residents has little understanding of community center. Thus national financial support is needed. Actually community has difficulty to mobilize community resource. The problem is how to carry out this national financial support effectively and going on study about this problem is needed.

  • The purpose of this case study was to analyze the promotion background, development process, business content and organizations of rural social enterprises in Japan and Korea, to examine the similarities and differences of the two countries in social purpose, independence of management, creation of regional economic cycle and administrative role, and to present policy tasks for development of social economy and social enterprise in rural area. the Policy tasks are as follows; construction of community-based social economy, social financial support strengthening, the empowerment of rural social enterprises and the efficient management of internet shopping mall for increase in sales.

  • 지방자치제 시대에 발맞추어 정보통신부와 행정자치부에서 추진중인 지역정보화 사업에는 지역의 특성을 살린 정보제공을 목표로 한 지역 정보화 센터를 설려하여 지역 주민들에게 생활정보, 산업정보, 행정정보를 제공할 수 있도록 계획하고 있다. 현재 지방자치단체에서는 이러한 업무를 수행할 수 있는 정보화 관련 인력이나 예산은 물론이고 장기적인 계획조차 수립하고 있지 못하고 있는 곳이 많으며, 또한 현재의 조직과 예산으로는 지방자치단체의 자체 개발은 어려운 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 각 지역에 소재한 중ㆍ소기업들에게 제공할 수 있는 산업정보와 일반 시민들이 필요로 하는 생활정보의 기본적인 내용과 틀을 마련하여 전국의 232개 시ㆍ군ㆍ구의 지역 정보화 센터에서 활용할 수 있는 생활/문화. 무역/기업, 산업/경제, 열린 마당에 관한 컨텐츠를 개발하였다.

A Study on Factors to Activate Community Leisure Activities (지역사회의 여가활성화 요인 탐색 연구)

  • This study aims to examine what made leisure activities of citizens activated and to evaluate their importance and thereby to present basic data for governments at all levels via analysis of characteristics of activated leisure activities by area. To attain the objectives of the study, for a qualitative and empirical analysis to develop measuring tools, a total of 400 copies of the questionnaire, 100 copies for each of the four areas - Incheon, Daejeon, Gwangju, and Busan- were distributed and collected for a quantitative analysis such as technical statistical analysis, exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis using a SPSS 18.0 program, with the following results: First, the qualitative analysis generated 15 factors via interviews of experts, and six factors of facilities, programs, organization and experts, promotion, policies, and other were extracted via open-end questions, comments of experts, and findings from existing literature. Second, based on the six factors extracted from the qualitative analysis, the 400 copies of the questionnaire were analyzed and, through factor analysis, the six factors were classified into four factors for facilities, two factors for leisure policies and other, respectively. In addition, questions on the promotion factor were all deleted, as they were lack in validity and reliability, resulting in 10 factors extracted in total. Third, Importance of the questions was five points or over on average, in most cases.

Study on the the Emergence and Characteristics of Private Social Service Organizations in the Mokpo Region (목포지역 민간 사회사업기관의 출현과 특징에 관한 연구)

  • This is an exploratory study that has formulated the formulation and development processes of private social service organizations in the Mokpo region and has drawn the social background in their hidden side and social service-oriented implications. To this end, this study examined the formation and development processes of private social service organizations from 1897 when Mokpo opened its port to the late 1960s when private social services were actively carried out in order to examine the formation and practice processes of social service organizations in Mokpo. The analysis results were as follows. First, the response of private social service organizations to the social desires of Mokpo residents played a major role. Second, even if private organizations played a large role in the formation and development processes of social service, the government's support and Social support was confirmed to be essential for consistent development.
