The objective of this study is to identify key dimensions of e-service quality and explore their relations to user satisfaction at Public libraries. This research used a modified e-service quality model and surveyed Internet service users for measuring and assessing Internet users' service satisfaction at 'A' public library in Seoul region. Using an exploratory factor analysis. the study identified three factors, named Service Affect, Information Access, and Tangibles as key dimensions for public library e-service quality. Also it was found that users' satisfaction was strongly positively correlated to their intention to refer others to the service.

대구지역 도서관에서 발간한 "도서관보(圖書館報)"를 활용하여 대구 소재 17개 시립 및 구립 공공도서관을 선정했다. 이들 도서관에서 노인 이용자를 위해 제공하고 있는 서비스 현황을 조사하여 분석하였다. 연구 대상서비스 분야는 시설, 자료이용 보조기구, 대활자본 자료, 2009년부터 2014년까지 6년간 시행한 평생교육강좌 프로그램 등 4가지이다. 이에 대한 현황을 살피고, 앞으로 꾸준히 증가할 것으로 예상되는 노인 이용자 수요에 대비하여 도서관이 보강해야 할 취약점에 대해 분석하였다.

This study aimed to identify the problems by analyzing the actual condition based on the legal requirements among Saemaul mini-libraries in Busan Metropolitan City. The results are like these. There were 154 Saemaul mini-Libraries. Of them, the rate of Small-Libraries which satisfied the requirements of a municipal library to the Library Act was 0%(0) in part of building floor space, 1%(1) in part of a reading room, 40%(59) in part of the data in a library and 31%(45) in the number of books to be supplemented per year. Mini-library which satisfied as the requirements for a small-scale public library was 37%(58) in part of the floor space, 66%(101) in part of a reading room, and 73%(112) in part of data in a library. 50%(77) of the mini-library was open more than 5 days per week. 52% (80) Mini-libraries was open for more than 5 hours per day. mini-library with permanent professionals(librarians) was only 1%(2). Mini-libraries of 99%(152) were non-professional workers(no librarians). For the average budget per year, 81%(127) spent less than 10 million won. 5%(5) received government subsidies. The mini-library of 74%(114) spent less than 5 million won on average for purchasing materials. Most of mini-libraries didn't meet the requirements of small-scale libraries to be private libraries or public libraries. It was also found that mini-libraries had various features on the location.

The purpose of this study is to develop a model for a medical information website for public library use. Applying the six processes of website development - planning, analysis, design implementation, promotion, and innovation as a research methodology, seven medical information websites are analyzed. The evaluating criteria includes interface layout, contents, function aspects. Based on the results, a medical information website is implemented. This developing methodology will help nonprofessionals in the medical information area understand interface and domain Information.

공공도서관과 학교도서관이 긴밀한 연관성을 유지하면서 그들의 모든 시설, 자료, 인력 등을 서로 나누어 활용하는 상호협력활동은 양질의 봉사프로그램을 제공할 수 있고 조화로운 공동목표를 성취할 수 있다. 사서들의 상호협력에 대한 인식조사결과 상당히 긍정적이며 지역사회에 지도력을 발휘하고자 하는 태도를 가지고 있다. 양 도서관의 지리적인 문제는 분관설치나 이동도서관의 증설 등으로 해결할 것을 제시하였고 재교육의 기회를 활용하여 협력봉사를 위한 자질을 증진시키는 방향도 제시하였다.

도서관은 전통적으로 지식과 정보자료를 수집하여 보존하는 기능을 담당해 왔다. 그러나 현대 후기산업사회에 적응하기 위해서는 이러한 전통적 기능 외에 과학기술정보의 신속한 공급은 물론, 개인의 지적 활동과 문화향수 및 여가선용의 극대화를 도모하고, 특히 지역사회 주민들의 문화복지를 증진시키기 위해 도서관 프로그램을 적극적으로 활용토록 자극하는 사회문화적 역할이 더욱 강조돼야 한다. 공공도서관 업무의 문화부이관을 골자로 하는 '도서진흥법'의 시행으로 이제까지와는 전혀 다른 질적 변화의 계기를 맞고 있는 우리 도서관은, 과연 이같은 역할과 과제의 수행을 위해 어떤 노력들을 기울여야 할 것인가. 지난 도서관주간에 열렸던 학술대회에서의 논의를 정리한다.

This Paper assesses the relative efficiency of public library services by examining the relationship between library inputs and library outputs in library systems. Using Data Envelopment Analysis, this study derives efficiency scores in the provision of library services for 21 public libraries in Seoul. The data are survey observations for 2002. We employ total holdings, total serials, and total acquisitions as inputs, and total circulations and reader visits as outputs. The result shows that the subject libraries operate at just $71\%$ efficiency, i.e., inputs could be reduced by one-three without sacrificing output if all libraries were as efficient as the benchmark 4 identified by DEA. Too many total collections are the main source of inefficiency.

VIP marketing strategy is mainly applied to commercial companies. This study proposed a plan to provide preferential services to excellent users of public libraries by referring to VIP marketing strategies. For this purpose, we surveyed 210 university students in their 20s and measured their Reliability, Empathy, overall usefulness for preferential service. As a result, 'Issue special membership card', 'provide exclusive lounge', 'additional book loan' services had common effects on three measurement items. Through these research results, this practical study can be used as a reference when public libraries implement preferential services in the future.

As one of the challenges providing sufficient Social Overhead Capital (SOC), such as cultural and sports facilities, installing small libraries and remodeling old public libraries are crucial to provide local community a public space and specialized services. In order to achieve such objectives, those libraries need to designate special themes while operating and providing services. In this study, we sought to find the relationship between the specialized themes and the spatial composition of the library. For this purpose, we investigated the specialized themes, spaces, services, spatial composition of program, and external environment. Analysis results showed that those libraries need to coordinate various areas according to the respective themes as well as categorization for its specialization subjects in order to stimulate activities of the libraries and to increase the usage rates. In addition, we have identified that a variety of spaces, such as thematic experience zones, are needed to improve the libraries' performance.

The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze the feasibility of relocating and building the Wando-gun Library into a multicultural library. For this purpose, the results of policy and economic feasibility, including locational feasibility, related laws, high and related plans, and surveys were examined. As a result of the analysis, it was found that policy feasibility was secured and economic feasibility was insufficient, but it is judged that some of it was secured because the ripple effect was calculated by the occurrence of social benefits. The results of this study can be useful data to prepare for a project to promote the construction of a library as a multicultural space.
