  • A arrival of u-teaming paradigm requires many u-teaming system and model that is varied and support to distance education, Accordingly, the distance education system in u-learning environment has attracted a fair amount of critical attention. However there remain many questions, as yet unresolved, such as it is difficult to maintain interaction between tutor and learner, the construction of system is a great expense to them, a tutor, who manages the system, lacks technologic background, in most current distance education system. To solve these problem, some preliminary observations have to be made first: to keep teaming process in situation that it is unconnected with tutor, to construct the system economically, and to make to be easy-to-use. Therefore, in this paper, we develop the 'Intelligent U-Learning System using Cyber Tutor', which includes the conception of u-learning such as mobility, immanency, supports to keep learning without real tutor by cyber tutor, and removes technological and economical costs, verify the validity.

Development of a Free School Year Program for Sustainable Fashion Education I -Focused on Status Analysis and Suggestion about the Program- (지속가능패션교육을 위한 자유학년제 프로그램 개발 (제1보) -프로그램 현황 분석 및 제안을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a free semester program using sustainable materials therefore improving the clothing & textiles section of the middle school textbook and the systematic and in-depth sustainable fashion education based on theme selection activity, as one of free semester system activities in the middle school. Our analysis on the programs, which was performed from 2018 to 2019, showed that the clothing & textiles programs were majorly focused making simple household items through basic needlework and knitting. The programs that related to the sustainable fashion education were environmental programs associated with other textbooks, or mainly included simple upcycling and were mainly operated as arts & physical education or club activities, rather than theme selection programs. According to results from a questionnaire survey on teachers incharge of the system, they had an intention of starting sustainable fashion education program or clothing & textiles section but failed due to low number of participants, practice cost, and time burden. Based on our analysis, this study proposed a 17-session based free semester program that includes the understanding of the sustainable fashions concept, classification of sustainable materials and systematic and stepwise practice in association with the middle school textbook clothing & textile section. The teaching materials developed in this study are expected to be incorporated in the program that helps students understand the right concept of sustainable fashions and respond to the pending environmental issue actively and systematically.

Research of Evaluation Criteria for Educational Program of Human Resources Development (인재개발 교육프로그램의 평가준거 개발을 위한 기초연구)

  • As the concern with the educational training for human resources development in organizations grows, various programs are being offered in many places. Accordingly, the issue of securing the validity of the education and the importance of its assessment at the level of continuous quality management of the programs draw our attention. The purpose of this study is to offer the basic data of evaluation criteria for human resources development which knowledge-and-information saturated society requires, and also to draw out the greater area of human resources development educational program based on CIPP(Context, Input, Process, Product) model by Stufflebeam, an evaluation model concentrated on process, through literature and case study in and out of Korea. The result of the study is as follows. First, the evaluation areas drawn out by the greater sphere of context evaluation of human resources education program are needs analysis, goal setting, and organizational environment. Second, the evaluation areas drawn out by the greater sphere of input evaluation of human resources education program are educational program strategies, human resources, and physical resources. Third, the evaluation areas drawn out by the greater sphere of process evaluation of human resources education program are educational program management, teaching-learning strategies, and educational support environment. Fourth, the evaluation areas drawn out by the greater sphere of product evaluation of human resources education program are influence, effect, durability, and transference. The author supposes that these results will be able to become the basic materials for the systematic approach to educational programs through the analysis of evaluation criteria for and the greater sphere of educational program of human resources development.

A Study on the Application of RFID to Teaching-Learning in u-Learning Environment (u-러닝 환경에서 RFID의 교수-학습 적용에 관한 연구)

  • With the advent of ubiquitous society, the paradigm of education is also changing. In u-learning in ubiquitous environment, mobile devices such as cellular phone, PDA, PMP, UMPC and TPC will become important learning tools. Particularly if RFID, a key technology in ubiquitous society, is utilized in teaching-learning along with mobile devices, we can expect much more meaningful learning. The present study proposed four types of application of RFID to teaching.learning, which were RFID-card, RFID-book, RFID-label and RFID-test, and examined their possibility and effectiveness. According to the results of this study, technology was insufficient to support the application of RFID-label to teaching-learning and continuous research was required for modeling the application of RFID to teaching-learning.

A Case Study on Economic and Social Impact of K-University (ESI(사회경제적 영향)에 관한 K대학의 사례연구)

  • Universities need to contribute to the sustainable development of their communities, with a primary purpose of education and research. Recently, the Economic and Social Impact(ESI), a measure of sustainability of universities, has been emphasized, but there is a lack of research on this. Therefore, this study examined the ESI indicators of existing universities and introduced cases of ESI development applied to K-university. In this study, we reviewed the ESI literature, analyzed domestic and international cases, and conduct an analysis of economic effect. As a result, we developed ESI indicators that includes both supply and demand side effects, and proposed an ESI assessment method that distinguishes the influence of universities and their impact on the community. Therefore, it is meaningful that this is a case of how universities measured ESI and how to use it. Future research will require advancement of the university's ESI assessment methodology, development of multipliers appropriate for the university, and comprehensive ESI indexing.

Is Lowest-Low Fertility going to Continue in Korea? (초저출산은 지속될 것인가?)

  • Low fertility has become quite commonplace worldwide, and Europe has experienced below replacement fertility for several decades. In addition, lowest-low fertility, defined as period total fertility rate below 1.3, has rapidly spread in Europe during the 1990s and is likely to expand further. After the turn of century, lowest-low fertility started spreading in Eastern Asia. Korea's TFR of 1.19 in 2008 is lower than most European countries, although it is higher than the Hongkong(1.02) and Taiwan(1.09). The purpose of this paper is to examine the socioeconomic determinants of lowest-low fertility in Korea. In doing so, this paper discusses the effects of female labour force participation, labour instability on family formation and fertility. The data includes female labour force participation rate, unemployment rate, age at first marriage, and total fertility rate from 1980 to 2008. First, the economic recession hindered young people's economic independence and propensity to marry. Married couples were also depressed with uncertainty toward the future and avoided to have children. Second, the growth in female labor force participation had a negative impact on fertility, under the low level of compatibility between women's work and childrearing. Moreover, this paper argues that the rising cost of children including public and private educational costs is thought to be the main reason of the recent low fertility in Korea. Policy implications and some comments on population policies are also presented in the final section.

A Study on Effects of a MAKEathon Programme Focusing on Problem-Solving for Sustainable Development (지속가능발전 문제해결 중심 메이커톤 프로그램의 개발 및 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate a MAKEathon programme designed to address climate change and dietary concerns, and to enhance competencies related to entrepreneurship and sustainable development. The programme was developed as a voluntary-based extracurriculum for the middle and high school students in South Korea. In order to verify the effectiveness, surveys were conducted before and after the program, focusing on the measures of the three competencies i.e. sustainable development competencies, creativity, and entrepreneurship, as well as the programme satisfaction and demographic background. Paired t-tests of pre-/post-tests were conducted on the responses of 29 participants and the results indicate significant improvement in the three competencies and high programme satisfaction. These findings underscore the value of incorporating extracurricular programmes related to sustainability in home economics education, suggesting potential for broader application in topics like clothing, food, and housing. Such programmes are poised to enhance educational effectiveness in teaching problem-solving for sustainable development.

  • 가뭄은 사회기반시설, 인적 자본 등과 같은 자산에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않으나 물을 중요한 투입재로 사용하는 농업부문에 피해가 집중된다. 가뭄 재해는 준비와 대응에 따라 피해에 큰 차이가 크기 때문에 다른 재해와는 달리 강도뿐만 아니라 지속기간을 고려해야 한다. 효과적인 가뭄 위험 관리를 위해서는 가뭄의 특징과 가뭄 준비 및 대응 수단에 따른 환경 및 경제적 영향을 평가할 수 있는 모형 구축과 다양한 농업자원을 동시적으로 연계 평가하여 지속가능성을 판단할 수 있는 기술 개발이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기후변화 등의 외부요인을 반영한 물-에너지-식량 (Water-Energy-Food, WEF) 넥서스 기반 농업 가뭄 평가 플랫폼 설계를 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위해 물-에너지-식량 넥서스 연계 해석 고도화 기술을 개발하고, 생물-물리학적 모델 및 경제학적 모델 연계형 기후-토양-물-에너지-식량 넥서스 (CS-WEF NEXUS) 플랫폼을 구축하여, 최종적으로 기후변화 및 농업부문 가뭄 준비 및 대응 수단의 영향 평가를 바탕으로 한 의사결정 지원 도구를 제시하는 것이 최종 목표이다. 본 연구에서 구축된 플랫폼은 넥서스 연계 해석을 통해 농업 가뭄 대응을 위한 식량 및 에너지 안보 정책에도 미칠 수 있는 영향을 분석할 수 있으며, 다양한 식량-물-에너지 정책들이 타 요소들에 미치는 영향을 쉽게 평가할 수 있다는 점에서 정책적 의사결정 지원 시스템으로서 활용도가 높을 것으로 예상한다.

Intensity-persistence day-frequency analysis of future extreme heat wave event using Bayesian method and uncertainty assessment (베이지안기법을 이용한 미래 폭염사상의 강도-지속기간-발생빈도 해석 및 불확실성 평가)

  • 극한 폭염사상은 지난 20세기 이후 점점 더 빈번하게 발생하고 있으며, 더 광범위한 지역에서 발생하고 있다. 이러한 폭염사상은 다가오는 지구 온난화 시대에서 그 강도가 더 강해지고 지속기간이 길어질 것으로 예상되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 극한강우에 대한 강우강도-지속기간-빈도(intensity-duration-frequency, IDF)곡선의 개념을 폭염사상에 적용하여 미래의 극심한 폭염사상에 대한 발생확률, 강도 및 지속날짜(heat wave intensity-persistence day-frequency, HPF) 간의 관계를 확인해보고자 한다. 또한 해당 모델의 불확실성은 베이지안 기법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 우리나라 6개 주요 지역(대관령, 서울, 대전, 대구, 광주, 부산)에 대해 16개의 미래 일 최대 기온 앙상블 자료를 이용하여 비정상성 HPF곡선을 적용하였다. 미래 극한 폭염 앙상블 결과를 분석한 결과, 2050년을 기준으로 지속기간 2일에 대해 극한 폭염의 강도가 RCP 4.5 이하 시나리오 기준 1.23 ~ 1.69 ℃ 범위에서 상승할 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났으며, RCP 8.5 이하 시나리오 기준의 경우 1.15 ~ 1.96 ℃ 범위로 나타났다. 또한 HPF 모델의 매개변수 추정으로 인한 불확실성의 경우, 다양한 기후 모델의 변동성으로 인한 불확실성보다 크게 나타났다. 모델의 매개변수 추정에 따른 불확실성을 반영한 결과, 2010~2050년에 해당하는 폭염의 강도에 대한 delta change의 95% 신뢰구간은 RCP 4.5 이하에서 0.53 ~ 4.94 ℃, RCP 8.5 이하에서 0.89 ~ 5.57 ℃로 나타났다.

Education Platform for Real Estate Industry on the Fourth Industrial Revolution : Proposing the Smart Space EduPlatform (4차 산업혁명시대 부동산 산업을 위한 교육플랫폼 연구: Smart Space EduPlatform 제안)

  • The Fourth Industrial Revolution has been revolutionizing industry and education. This paper proposes an education platform, Smart Space EduPlatform (SSEP), for the real estate industry, aimed at educating the basic real estate technology (RETech) for workers in the real estate industry so they can achieve the highest and best use of the real estate in the smart environment. The habitat of SSEP is driven by the donation system ensuring sustainability, various technical functions such as tools for content production and learning participation, and learning behavior frameworks each in form of a learner, a teacher, and a helper. Services of SSEP consist of 17 important RETech lectures under 6 categories-planning and design, decision-making, management, economics, construction, and equipment-and project-based learning (PBL) curriculums. The lectures are provided along with video contents, additional learning materials and learning management service, while teachers' workshops, learner invitation and registration management, curriculum operation services are offered for the PBL curriculums.
