  • Places exposed to mass media induce behavior by forming curiosity and expectations for potential travelers. The places reported through mass media influence viewers. Among TV programs, the most influential genre is drama, and reality programs that provide immersion with different characteristics from dramas influence viewers' choice of destination. CVM is mainly used for estimating the value of objects that cannot be evaluated in the market, such as tourist destinations. This study conducted an economic valuation of filming locations for dramas and travel entertainment programs using CVM, and then compared and analyzed the research results of the two filming locations. Linear and log logit analysis were performed to measure the willingness to pay for the filming location of the drama/travel entertainment program, and the payment amount was derived. The conclusion of the study is that as the travel cost required to visit the filming location of the drama/travel entertainment program increased, the intention to visit decreased. The amount payable when visiting the filming location of the drama/travel entertainment program was higher than the average consumption amount for a day trip, and the amount payable for the drama was higher than that of visiting the filming location of the travel entertainment program.

  • The goal of this study is to estimate economic benefit of restoring ecological stream of Hong Cheon river. The benefit is determined by estimating willingness-to-pay for the value of Hong Cheon river because it is a non-market good which is difficult to be measured in terms of monetary value. Specifically, the spike model, one of the contingent valuation methods, is used to distinguish respondents having zero willingness-to-pay for Hong Cheon river. The results show that a household located near the Hong Cheon river is willing to pay 3,300~4,628 Korean Won per year, while a household not located near the Hong Cheon river is willing to pay 1,308~2,929 Korean Won per year. Thus, total benefit of restoring ecological stream of Hong Cheon river is estimated as 97.6~216.3 billion Korean Won.

  • A geographical indication is a protected trade name or mark for a product that corresponds to a specific geographic location or origin. Geographical indications have been widely used in European countries over the last three decades, mainly for wine and food products. This study investigates the consumer perception of geographical indications for agricultural and processed products and purchase experiences of consumers. It also examines consumer intention to pay more for geographical indication products. The findings from the empirical investigation showed that only 24.0% of the respondents have purchased geographical indication products whereas 49.5% of the respondents have not. Meanwhile, 26.5% of the respondents reported that they were unaware of geographical indications. Main reasons of purchasing geographical indication products were trust in quality, safety, and better taste. On the other hand, main reasons of not purchasing geographical indication products were lack of knowledge and no distinctive quality. The respondents answered that they would pay more for geographical indication products especially for luxury items such as ginseng, wine, and beef.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the economic feasibility of Busan Regional Central Library. The four candidate sites were included for the analysis. To achieve the purpose of this study, we applied three types of indices such as Benefit-Cost analysis, Net Present Value, and Internal Rate of Return. We used CVM(Contingent Valuation Method) to calculate the benefit; we conducted two investigations to calculate WTP, which are for pretest and for main survey. From results of pretest, we designed five optimal prices. On the basis of them, main survey was accomplished to figure out WTPs for four candidate sites. The results show that four candidate sites were all feasible from an economic point of view. Of these, the Busan Citizen Park site got the highest point of B/C ratio.

  • This study was conducted to provide resonable price of timber that come out from certified forests for sustainable forest management. To accomplish this study objectives, we analyzed compound interest method, willingness to pay (WTP) and price sensitivity measurement (PSM) when buying certified pulp. In case of compound interest method, we used prime cost by average price per ha of each area (Hongcheon, Inje, Shinnam) and unit price that add up the pulp price and investment costs. Interest rate reflects 2 to 6% and investment period apply to 5 years. WTP and PSM data were collected from questionnaire survey. As a result, if apply to interest rate of 2% and investment period of 3 years, result values are quite similar to WTP of 5% and optimal pricing point of PSM. That also showed similar pattern in each area.

  • The contingent valuation method used survey questions to elicit people's preferences for public goods by finding out what they would be willing to pay for specified improvement in them. The method is thus aimed at eliciting their willingness to pay in money amounts. It circumvents the absence of markets for public goods by presenting consumers with hypothetical markets in which they have the opportunities to buy the good in question. The hypothetical markets may be modeled after either a private goods market or a political market. Respondents are presented with material, often in the course of a personal interview conducted face to face. An on-site survey was conducted to 1107 randomly selected P-mountain users using a dichotomous choice questionnaire for the contingent valuation method. Seventeen different bid sets were chosen ranging from the lowest bid of 300won to the highest bid of 2,100won to elicit a reasonable entrance fee in the suggested bid had been determined, and the expected value of willingness to pay was estimated using binary-logit model. The average public value of P-mountain per individual user was estimated to be 1,055.92won∼1,995.61won according to the binary-logit model. The economic value of this P-mountain which includes both use value and existence value can be determined by aggregating the average value giving total willingness to pay for the entire population, in this case 5.491 billion ∼ 10.377 billion.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate economic value of forest landscape function using conditional logit model, applied by Choice Experiment. For the study, we have chosen attributes and levels of forest landscape. In specific, topographical forest type, forest type, forest density, recreational factor (side trip, accessibility of valley) and WTP were included in attributes. Based on factors, we have made 48 choice sets with Balanced and Orthogonal form using SAS 9.1. The efficiency of questionnaire was 6.02 (D-Error: 0.1) and choice set and socio-economic variable were selected. In order to reduce cognitive load of respondent, 96 choice sets were divided into 4 types in questionnaire so that respondent could respond to 12 choice sets respectively. Population was citizens from 7 metropolitan cities including Seoul, and the interview survey was conducted to find out average annual WTP per household for the total 280 interviewees. As a result, In the Non-ASC model, Mcfadden' ${\rho}$ had 0.21, and Log Likelihood: -2,631. Average annual WTP per household for forest landscape was 266,723 Won(Korean currency).

  • This study analyzes empirically main factors of willingness-to-pay for mobile IPTV emphasized as a key service in mobile environment. By structure equation analysis, the results shows that service diversity has influence on usefulness and service quality influences both usefulness and ease-to-use. Secondly, usability has positive impact on attitude and satisfaction. Thirdly, attitude and satisfaction influence willingness-to-pay. These result mean that quality assurance(ex, QoS) and improvement of usability are essential for revenue improvement revenue in mobile IPTV. And also this study can give empirical implications for service portfolio, pricing and bundling strategy as a leading study for mobile IPTV.

  • The word is endeavoring to reduce greenhouse gases with the sense of crisis caused by the continuous climate change. As a method to decrease greenhouse gases, motors driven by fossil fuels are being substituted by EV in the field of transportation. Meanwhile, for the spread of EV, charging installations are divided into general charging type and quick charging type. Also, charging amount and time are main factors to decide charging pay. But, because the opportunity coast for the charging time varies depending on the private situations, it is very important to understand exact phenomenon for the spread of EV charging installations and charging pay policy. Therefore this paper suggested the choice model of charging installation and time value in various situations by using Logit model to make clear the relationship between a choice of charging installation, charging time and willingness to pay for charge.
