A Grid-based Matching Algorithm far High Performance Fingerprint Recognition (고성능 지문인식을 위한 그리드 기반 매칭 알고리즘)

  • 지문은 사람마다 고유한 특징 정보를 가지고 있어 오래 전부터 가장 신뢰할 수 있는 생체 특징으로 알려져 왔다. 따라서 범죄수사, 출입통제, 입출금 서비스 등 많은 분야에서 지문을 이용하여 개인 인증을 실시하고 있다. 그러나 지문인식은 아직까지 인식성능, 처리속도 대용량 지문 분석 등에서 많은 문제점을 가지고 있다. 특히 지문인식에서 인식성능은 다양한 지문수집 환경의 변화와 실시간 인증에 적응하도록 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 지문인식에서 흔히 사용하는 특징점 추출 방식을 개선하여 전체적인 인식성능을 향상시키기 위한 방법으로 그리드 기반 매칭 방법을 제안하고 기존의 매칭 알고리즘과 비교하여 결과를 분석한다. Nitgen DB 4로 실험한 결과, 일반적인 매칭 알고리즘인 Jain의 특징점 패턴 정렬 매칭 방법 보다 인식성능이 우수함을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문에서는, 지문인증 시스템에 있어서 방향성분의 통계적 방법을 이용한 reference point 검출 알고리즘과 이 reference point를 중심으로 하여 기존의 filterbank의 단점을 개선한 feature 추출 알고리즘을 소개한다. 제안한 reference point검출 알고리즘은 기존의 Poincare방법의 단점인 세밀한 전처리 과정과 arch type의 지문에 대해 장점을 가지며, 개선한 filterbank방법은 기존의 filterbank방법보다 reference point의 검출 위치에 덜 민감하며, 좀 더 높은 인증률을 보였다.

  • According to the rapid development of information and communication, various services are offered using information and communication infrastructure for example e-commerce, internet banking, stock dealings, etc. This time, the most important problem is personal identification. But now secret number that is used to personal identification mostly can be misappropriated. To solve this problem, this paper proposes smart card identification system using 1 vs. 1 fingerprint matching. Information protection and security of smart card excel and use is convenient. And fingerprint becomes the focus of public attention in biometric field. Implemented system in this paper is based on PC. This system stores minutia that is fingerprint information into smart card and compare it with personal minutia. Therefore this system is sure to be on personal identification. If this system is applied to various services, safety degree of services will be enhanced.

  • Medical information is an important personal information for patients, and it must be protected. In particular, when medical personnel approach electronic medical records, authentication for enhanced security is essential. However, the existing public certificate-based certification model did not reflect the security characteristics of the electronic medical record(EMR) due to problems such as personal key management and authority delegation. In this study, we propose a fingerprint recognition-based authentication model with enhanced security to solve problems in the approach of the existing electronic medical record system. The proposed authentication model is an EMR system based on fingerprint recognition using PEMS (Private-key Escrow Management Server), which is applied with the private key commission protocol and the private key withdrawal protocol, enabling the problem of personal key management and authority delegation to be resolved at source. The performance experiment of the proposed certification model confirmed that the performance time was improved compared to the existing public certificate-based authentication, and the user's convenience was increased by recognizing fingerprints by replacing the electronic signature password.

  • 패스워드, PIN, 패턴 락, 지문 인증 등은 현재 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 모바일 장치의 사용자 인증 수단이다. 그러나 사용자가 기억의 편의성을 위해 쉬운 패스워드를 반복 사용한다는 것은 널리 알려진 사실이며 이를 보완하기 위해 개발된 그래픽 패스워드, 또는 지문 등 생체 인증은 사용성 개선을 이루어냈으나 여전히 사용성, 안전성에서 많은 취약점이 보고되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 장치에서의 인증 기법에 관한 연구동향을 살펴보고 분석한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 많은 잡음으로 인해 손상된 지문으로부터 향상된 특이점 추출에 관한 방법을 제안한다. 최근 들어 주민등록증 뒷면의 지문 이미지와 본인의 생체 지문을 비교하여 본인임을 판단하는 시스템에 관한 연구가 활발하게 진행되어지고 있다. 그런데 생체지문 인식 장치를 통해 입력받은 지문 이미지는 왜곡과 잡음이 없는데 반해 주민등륵증상의 지문이미지는 입력 당시 잉크를 통해 회전날인 방식으로 입력받아 잡음과 왜곡이 심하여 두 이미지간의 인증율이 좋지 않다. 이에 주민등록증의 지문 이미지에 대한 잡음과 왜곡보정 필터링과 오류 특이점 제거 등을 통하여 향상된 지문인식 시스템을 구성할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다.

  • Biometric-based authentication can provide strong security guarantee about the identity of users. However, security of biometric data is particularly important as the compromise of the data will be permanent. In this paper, we propose a secure and efficient protocol to transmit fingerprint images from a fingerprint sensor to a client by exploiting characteristics of fingerprint images. Because the fingerprint sensor is computationally limited, however, such encryption algorithm may not be applied to the full fingerprint images in real-time. To reduce the computational workload on the resource-constrained sensor, we apply the encryption algorithm to a specific bitplane of each pixel of the fingerprint image. We use the LSB as specific bitplane instead of MSB used to encrypt general multimedia contents because simple attacks can reveal the fingerprint ridge information even from the MSB-based encryption. Based on the experimental results, our proposed algorithm can reduce the execution time of the full encryption by a factor of six and guarantee both the integrity and the confidentiality without any leakage of the ridge information.

  • Interest about a latest security connection technology rises, and try to overcome security vulnerability Certification about on-line user methods through fingerprint that is biometries information apply. In this study, designs and implements fingerprint recognition system that is invariant to rotation by fingerprint recognition system for certification about on-line user. Proposed method focused in matching process through pre-process of fingerprint image, feature point extraction. Improved process time and correct recognition rate in fingerprint recognition system that is invariant to rotation presented in existing study. Also, improved noise, distortion problems that happen in preprocess of existing study applying directional Laplacian filter.

  • Fingerprint authentication identifies individuals based on user specific information. It is widely used as it is convenient, secure and has no risk of leakage, loss, or forgotten. However, the latent fingerprints remaining on the smart device's surface are vulnerable to smudge attacks. We analyze the usage patterns of individuals using smart device and propose methods to reconstruct damaged fingerprint images using fingerprint smudges. We examine the feasibility of smudge attacks with frequent usage situations by reconstructing fingerprint smudges collected from touch screens. Finally, we empirically verify the vulnerability of fingerprint authentication systems by showing high attack rates.
