This study look into the place-name change by social influence around Jin-An region. The place-names were made through joining natural environment with social condition. The place-names were born as a river name firstly, and it was selected as the artificial administration district name in this region(Ju-Chon, Jeong-Chon, An-Chon). Generally the place-name is reflected by a terrain feature of narrow area but this region's place name was made by wide river drainage area as a system. It is different point to others place-name and the social factor played more important role than natural environment in this process. The displacement process of mountain name which is from Ju-Jul to Un-Jang was through social situation change without the natural conditions change. It was used to the Ju-Jul firstly and coexistent the Ju-Jul with Un-Jang and only use the Un-Jang recently. Formal change period was 1910s in the map, Mt. Un-Jang(雲長山) had the advantage at the pronunciation and written than Mt. Ju-Jul. Mt. Gu-Bong(九峰山) was played important role for new mountain name and Song Ik-Pil(宋翼弼) was appeared for rationalization of Mt. Un-Jang.

At present, 3 names about undersea features in the East Sea - Korean Plateau, Tsushima Basin, Syun-yo Bank - are listed on Gazetteer Any explanations are not given for registration of these names. Just it seems that the names written on International marine chart(INT 511) were recorded to Gazetteer. Furthermore Tsushima Basin and Syun-yo Bank have no oceanographic, geologic reason and geographical relevance, and the names should be replaced by Ulleung Basin and Isabu Tablemount, respectively, that is deeply related to geographical relevance and genetic origin.

The purpose of this study is to find one of the standard scales of outside space. Fortunately, Korea has interesting old geographical name representing the environment where people feel comfortable by being enclosed by hills or mountains like in a room. The name of Chinese letter "谷" meaning valley is enunciated as "Gog", and Korean native equivalent word is "Sil." We thought we can find the standards of scale of the villages with name that ends with "Gog" or "Sil" by examining the scale of the village of the certain geographical name. We could collect 33 village's geographical names in Jin An Gun area, examined the scale, and considered the results from various aspects. The main conclusions are following: 1) Almost of the 33 villages with geographical names of "Gog", or "Sil" were surrounded by the hills of mountains, and the scales of the spaces surrounded were roughly 10~25ha. 2) Our ancestors felt comfortable be being enclosed with hills or mountains like in a room, and they have recognized the certain scale of the enclosed spaces. 3) After converting the 33 areas into squares for convenience, the scales of the spaces with the geographical name of "Gog" or "Sil" were roughly $300m{\times}300m{\sim}500m{\times}500m$.

The name of a place represents the social and political power relations as well as showing a certain physical space. In particular, the East Sea is not only a representative name of areas represent our country, but also the name of place being in competition with the Sea of Japan internationally. Korea is committed in many ways to spread the name of East Sea in the international community, and gradually expand its name power. The purpose of this study was to investigate the names used in the newspapers and broadcasting in Francophone countries except France by analyzing the newspaper articles and broadcasting contents, and to illuminate how the names of the East Sea produced in France, and the discussion about the names were diffused in Francophone countries and what kind of influence they had on those countries. This study selected Algeria in North Africa, Belgium and Luxembourg in West Europe, and Quebec in Canada for the research areas. As a result, while Algeria in North Africa and Luxembourg are showing inhospitality to the name East Sea, Belgium and Quebec are taking a flexible attitude toward this name. In general, most Francophone countries are provided with press releases from AFP in France. Even in same article provided by AFP, The result shows that some media stick to use the name Sea of Japan solely, and others demonstrate a will to use both name East Sea and Sea of Japan simultaneously. This study was able to show that the diffusion and spread of the place name was significantly influenced by social, political interests and powers, the mess geopolitics in pop cultural materials.

There are 18,638 insect species recorded in Korea, representing 35.4% of Korean Biodiversity (52,628). In this study, we classified Korean common name into 11 categories (color, size, shape, plant, location, ecology, foreign language, personal name, native, physiology, positive/negative) and assigned every species into each categories and researched the meaning of Korean common names. We conducted further analysis on 506 cases of hate speech (disability, racial·regional·appearance discriminations). Also we analyzed 508 cases of Japanese expressions (person's name, place name, Japanese language), and proposed alternative words in case of inappropriate usages.

과거 할인점에서의 상품구색은 대체로 가격이 저렴한 제품들로 구성되어 있었지만, 외국계 할인점이 국내에 진출하고 할인점들 간 경쟁이 치열해지면서 할인점은 매장을 고급스럽게 디자인하고 상품가치가 높고 지명도가 높은 제품들로 구색을 갖추고 있다. 이러한 할인점의 새로운 위상정립에 따라 할인점에서의 화장품 매대도 진열과 구색이 변화되고 있는데, 본 연구는 할인점에서의 화장품 매대 및 취급상표의 특징, 그리고 화장품 매대를 쇼핑하는 소비자의 행태에 관한 자료를 수집 및 분석한 후, 그 결과를 종합하여 메이커와 소비자 측면에서 할인점을 통한 화장품 판매현황을 분석하였다. 조사결과 소비자들은 화장품 구매 장소로서 할인점을 기존 화장품 전문점보다 모든 측면에서 우수한 구매 장소로 인식하고 있었고, 백화점에 비해서도 나쁘지 않은 것으로 평가하고 있었다. 또한 메이커들도 할인점의 화장품매장에 대한 지원을 강화하고 있고, 할인점 전용상표를 개발하여 일반 화장품 전문점 및 백화점과 차별화된 유통경로를 구축하기 위하여 노력하고 있음이 확인되었다.

This study intends to explore the relationship between export motivating factors and export channel-structure. Two proactive motivating factors (market-opportunity development and productivity improvement) and one reactive motivating factor (business-risk hedge) were extracted from the survey data collected from Korean exporting firms. The data show that the two proactive motives enhance the likelihood of using the export channels that allow strong controls over export-marketing activities. This study also finds that these proactive motives tend to increase the amount of relationship investment in an export distribution channel.

This research aims to analyze Baekdu mountain are with it's the east flowing streams which are the issues on the old maps. Also, it will analyze the eastern flows, Tomoon river; Boongye river; Dooman river, from Baekdu mountain which have been the border settlement issues since Josun dynasty. Also, it will analyze the north-eastern flows, Heukryong river; Songhwa river; Sockpyung river; Tomoon river; Boongye river; Dooman river, from Baekdu mountain which have been the border settlement issues since Josun dynasty. The mainly issued Baekdu mountain's north-eastern flows can be classified into six different flows by the classifications, it proves that there are various Baekdu mountain north-eastern flows on the old maps. the two streams theory of Tomoon and Doman river explains the perspective of the northern expansion, and the one stream theory expresses it by stating Boongye and Sockpyung river as the same one. However, in the case of the meaning of Boongye river is Haeran river on the middle of one stream theory map, there is no region expanding perspective but the same border perspective that Korean peninsula and China match. Boongye river is expressed into four different meanings. (1) It is the same river with Sockpyung and shows the regional expanding perception. (2) It is the same river with Tomoon and the down stream of Tomoon river.(3) It expresses the current name, Haeran river. (4) It simply means the river shows the boundary.

This paper describes a dune field on shoreline of Young Gwang. To clarify geomorphic characteristics, made an analysis of grain size of the sand sediments samples and surface texture of quartz grains, and field survey. The following results were obtained : 1) Young Gwang sand dune is taking to pieces by human impact, and dose not move ahead the process of sand dune. 2) there was a turbulence of sand sediments outcrops saying to the cryoturbation that represents cold climatic environments, 3) Constituents of sand dune are mainly fine and very fine sand(2.5~4.5Φ) consisted by quartz and feldspar. Young Gwang sand grians have some analogy with different sites in west coast 4) In surface texture, roundness is thought to have been formed sub-angular, and some V cracks represented mechanical weathering environments. Especially, the dune environment has significant cultural and archaeological values arising from the occupation of human in the past. Those areas where occupation is known provide a valuable source of past records relating to human settlement.

As digital contents based on 3D graphics are increased, the requirement for low power 3D graphic hardware for mobile devices is increased. We design a transformation engine for mobile 3D graphic processor. We propose a simplified transformation engine for mobile 3D graphic processor. The area of the transformation engine is reduced by merging a mapping transformation unit into a projective transformation unit and by replacing a clipping unit with a selection unit. It consists of a viewing transformation unit a projective transformation unit a divide by w nit, and a selection unit. It can process 32 bit floating point format of the IEEE-754 standard or a reduced 24 bit floating point format. It has a pipelined architecture so that a vertex is processed every 4 cycles except for the initial latency. The RTL code is verified using an FPGA.
