In this study, for the application of land resource evaluation using GIS map overlay method, I have considered about the process that can draw out right results from the problems involving multiple hierarchical indicators and weights. The assumption of this research is that there are two processes in the application of analytic hierarchy process(AHP) and the different results will appear. The two processes are as follows; (1) calculate directly the comprehensive weights to the indicators and overlay the layers(Method I) and (2) repeat the process of map overlay and standardization(Method II). The two precesses are applied on the study site based on the envirosystem in Bong-Hwa, and then some differences were found in the results and it was suggested that the Method II is more reasonable.

Disaster management in Korea so far was centered on recovery efforts rather than prior mitigations. Besides, there were no systematic attempts to assemble appropriate information for even for the past disasters. In this reason, the nation has been repeatedly suffered from similar disasters. To prevent and minimize damages from disasters, it is necessary to build an information system that can gather and organize proper information and that can analyze and visualize spatial patterns of past disasters. This research aims at proposing policy measures to foster a GIS based urban disaster management system. To do so, the paper firstly takes a close look at the FGIS in the City of Taegu as an example. Then it examines the effects of GIS based urban disaster management system and suggests future directions to promote it.

For a long time, the ocean was regarded as unknown area ruled by god, consequently, not so much things were developed in scientific methods and activities. Despite a rapid development of geographic information systems(GIS) marine and ocean fields still remained in the scope of traditional tools and intuitive experiences by the late of 1990. However, land based concepts and technology models require additional customization to apply GIS effectively in marine domains, which are resulted from her dynamic, complex and seamless massive nature. This paper gives a brief review of marine spatial data characteristics and also presents strategic approaches to meet the unique marine GIS requirements.

우리나라의 GIS 구축을 육상과 해상으로 나누어 볼 때 육상부분은 국가지리정보체계사업에 의해 대도심지 중심으로 거의 구축이 완료된 상태이다. 그리나, 해상부분에 있어서의 GIS 구축은 해양수산부가 중심이 되어 구축중이나 아직 지리정보와 속성정보의 정의와 초기구축단계에 있는 실정이다. 지리정보체계는 보다 효율적인 활용방안을 위해 GPS와 연결되어 항법 및 위치추적시스템과 연결되어 그 파급효과를 극대화시키는 연구가 많이 이루어지고 있다. GPS는 정확도면을 기준으로 볼 때 항법용과 정밀측량용으로 나누어진다. 현재는 GPS 기술이 상당히 발전하여 저가격의 정밀측량용 GPS 장비가 소개되고 있지만, 아직은 그 비용면에서 사용자가 원하는 정도의 저가격은 되지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서, 자동차나 선박항해를 위해 사장되는 GPS 장비는 저가격의 항법용 GPS 장비가 현재 많이 사용되고 있다. 본 연구는 항법용의 저가격의 GPS 장비를 이용하여 해양부분에 있어서 정밀 선박항법 및 위치추적시스템으로 활용하기 위해 측지학적인 좌표해석을 기본으로 한 선박항법시스템을 구축하는 것이다. 또한, 본 연구를 통하여 각자의 선박항법과 더불어 관리국에서 많은 선박을 관리하기 위한 인터넷 GIS 구축에 대한 필요성을 게시하고자 한다.

The government is spending a large amount of budget to establish NGIS due to the importance of geospatial information. This paper deals with the study of schema mapping technique which can efficiently establish military topographic DB forest layer using digital forest map and other existing geospatial DB. In order to accomplish this each schema of these types of DB was analyzed then, mapping table which connects related attributes was created and finally, military topographical DB forest layer of the area of interest was efficiently established. This research was able to display solutions that resolved compatibility issues between existing geospatial DB of these types, established by the schema mapping techniques described in this research.

Books on world geography, so called "萬國地誌" had an important influence on changing Koreans' views of the world and the nation through the introduction of new world geographical knowledge during the period of modern enlightenment(1894~1910). "小學萬國地誌" was published in 1895 by Hakbu as an early world geography textbook. This study sought to discuss the significance and influence of "小學萬國地誌" by focusing on its contents organization and description style. The findings are as follows. The six regional contents organization adopted the modern regional geographical method by regional scale classification, describing the human geography based on the physical geography, comparing regional characteristics or studying the relationship between human and the nature. In addition, this textbook was written using the kukhanmun style that displays several characteristics of modern printing culture. Many geographical names were written in Korean characters and geographical knowledge was accepted actively from the modern world, subsequently contributing to the generalization of geographical knowledge. This textbook led to the transition of the Koreans' worldview from a China-centric focus by providing practical and specific knowledge about the world, toward the Korean modernization based on the multiple ideologies of social Darwinism and the advent of enlightenment, imperialism and nationalism.

In literary works, space plays a background role, but in geography, it becomes the target of study. Space could, therefore, be a matter of common interest in literary and geographic education. "Chunhyangjeon" contains a great amount of geographic information, such as landscape, itineraries, and spatial consciousness. This information is a part of narrative development and represents the geographical situation of the late Yi-dynasty. Thus, "Chunhyangjeon" could be the common material for literary and geographic education. Using "Chunhyangjeon" as the common material, through narrative incidents, learners in a literature class can appreciate the role of geographic information in narrative development, and the same learners can, in geography class, recognize the geographic information and gather the sense of place that the characters experience. For the construction of common realm of the two subjects, it is necessary to compare the aims of two subjects and systematically ensure that the aims correspond. This systematic correspondence of aims could be the foundation for curriculum integration.

본 연구는 산경표에 기초한 최근 한국 산맥논의를 검토하였다. 산경표는 풍수지리학에 기초를 둔 우리나라 전통 산맥 체계로 분수계 체계이다. 이 체계에 기초를 둔 논의들은 하천이 산맥을 절단하고 있는 것을 받아드리지 못하며, 이 체계의 중심 맥인 백두대간은 많은 기원이 다른 산맥들을 연결하여 이름하고 있다. 지형학에서 산맥은 구조 운동이나 차별 침식의 결과로 형성된 산지의 선적 배열이다. 같은 원인에 의하여 형성된 산지의 선적 배열을 하나의 산맥으로 이름을 부여하고, 형성 원인이 다르거나 방향성이 다른 것을 합쳐서 하나의 산맥으로 이름 하지 않는다. 지형학에서 정의되는 산맥은 선행 하천에 의해 절단될 수 있고, 분수계 이동 현상도 일어나기 때문에 산맥이 분수계와 일치하는 것은 아니다. 따라서 백두대간이란 이름은 우리나라의 상징성을 표현할 때 사용하고, 교과서에서는 우리나라의 지형을 설명할 때는 기존의 산맥체계를 사용해야 할 것으로 본다.
