  • Researching Stromatolites spread all over Gyeong-San, province Gyeongsangbukdo, it raise an objection for preservation of original state caused by natural weathering, artificial destruction, illegal emission and enviromental pollution. Stromatolites in Gyeong-San was formed on lake Meszoic era cretaceous. So it is representative rock of geological feature of sediment formed in water and landscape. It could be used as educational data on mesozoic stratum and earth surface, and resources of observation and experience program. It could apply as educational venue place in terms of Mesozoic era cretaceous motif. And it is managed various programs appling 4H (Healing, Hiking, Hand, History) experience program based on local community. And it is concerned software program introducing augumented reality, furthermore discuss with related field.

  • The location of tourist function is influenced by the accessibility of fishing villages and tourist potential in the villages. In Jeju island, the accessibility of fishing villages is not enough of a difference, therefore tourist potential in the villages has a dominant influence on the tourist location. In the location of the tourist function, there is all the difference between sea or land. Because sea and land are a remarkable contrast in physical condition and tourist activity space. Consequently, the basic types of the tourist location are sea-oriented, land-oriented, sea land-oriented. Besides, fishing villages adjacent to the beach and islands are to be the types of the tourist location. The former is not central fishing village in the tourist location, the latter is not good in the accessibility of the basic three types. And the location of the tourist function has a dominant influence on the difference of tourist fishing villages, therefore the types of the tourist location is to be the types of tourist fishing villages.

  • The aim of this study is to evaluate the contributions of each hydrogeological factors to groundwater recharge ratios in order to determine areal estimates of recharges in entire inland area of South Korea. For this purpose, various statistical analyses and overlay techniques of GIS were conducted fur entire area and 4 river basins of South Korea. As a result, the spatial distribution of recharge, South Korea were visualized.

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the weights of the factors for landslide susceptibility analysis using artificial neural network. Landslide locations were identified from interpretation of aerial photographs, field survey data, and topography. The landslide-related factors such as topographic slope, topographic curvature, soil drainage, soil effective thickness, soil texture, wood age and wood diameter were extracted from the spatial database in study area, Yongin. Using these factors, the weights of neural networks were calculated by backpropagation training algorithm and were used to determine the weight of landslide factors. Therefore, by interpreting the weights after training, the weight of each landslide factor can be ranked based on its contribution to the classification. The highest weight is topographic slope that is 5.33 and topographic curvature and soil texture are 1 and 1.17, respectively. Weight determination using backprogpagation algorithms can be used for overlay analysis of GIS so the factor that have low weight can be excluded in future analysis to save computation time.

  • Although tourism has been quite popular as development strategy, the outcomes may vary dependent upon managing stakeholders involved. Thus, stakeholder management has been the subject of growing research interests recently. Collaboration theory was suggested as an alternative to this question; however, collaboration theory may provide potential benefits, it lacks in consideration into stakeholder power relations. The purpose of this paper is two foleded. One is to examine critically collaboration theory in the context of tourism development, and address the necessity of stakeholder analysis framework, and the other is to provide the framework. This paper argues that careful analysis of stakeholders from diverse perspectives should be done in advance, and presents stakeholder analysis framework which consists of six analysis indicators: interest, perspective, power base(resource), involvement, influence, and legitimacy. The framework consists of three stages: (1) identifying stakeholder, (2) assessing stakeholder, and (3) establishing strategies. It is argued that the framework in this paper can be useful to analyze stakeholders and to set up strategy for more collaborative tourism development.

  • We investigated the genetic variation in Stewartia koreana Nakai by examining 61 I-SSR amplicons in 120 individuals distributed among six natural populations in Korea. The overall percentage of polymorphic I-SSR amplicons was 81.9% and mean number of amplicons per I-SSR primer was 12.2. Levels of genetic diversity within 6 populations were similar each other[Shannon's Index $0.358{\sim}0.467$(mean: 0.407)]. The Mt. Obong population had the highest level of genetic diversity and was most distinctive from the other populations. Most variation existed among individuals within population(88.2%). Genetic differentiation among populations(${\phi}_{ST}$) was 0.118. The UPGMA dendrogram based on the genetic distance failed in showing decisive geographic relationships.

  • Mt. Apsan is well known to be one of the most popular tourist sites around Daegu. Annually, more than 16 million persons visit Mt. Apsan. Although, in the mountain there are varieties of geomorphic and geological resources, there has been less concern to utilize the resources for geo-tourism. For example, there are about 10 valleys within Mt. Apsan and various landforms are scattered around the valleys. In this context, this study, based on field surveys centering around Gosangol valley, Anjiranggol valley and Dalbigol valley, focuses on exploring ways towards developing Mt. Apsan as an example geo-tourist site. The main findings are as follows: 1) The main landforms of Mt. Apsan include river cliff, cavern, free face, mud crack, ripple mark, fold, sheeting joint, talus, alluvial fan, pot hole, fault line, gnamma, columnar joint and metamorphic rock. 2) The guide notes on the landforms are developed. 3) In order to raise a learning effect of visitors on geomorphic resources, 9 nature trails are designed according to valleys and the length of visitor's stay.

  • Distributional surveys for vascular plants were carried out in Daecheong island, Ongjin-gun, South Korea, from 2008 to 2010. The vascular plants recognized from the island were in tatal 402 taxa that were of 90 families, 269 genus, 350 species, 3 subspecies, 43 varieties, 6 forms. Among the investigated 402 taxa, 2 Korean endemic plants, 8 rare and endangered plants which was designated by Korea Forest Service, 35 specially plants designated by the Ministry of Environment were included. The naturalized plants were identified as 40 taxa and the percentage of naturalized plants index was 9.9%. In addition, an unrecorded species, Thyrocarpus glochidiatus Maxim (Boraginaceae), was recognized from the island.

  • As creative city is increasingly considered as a paradigm of urban development, it was explored that some of major concepts consisting of creative city such as creativity, creative class and creative industry have an implication. Those concepts reveal a diverse meaning rather than universal one in the application depending on regions and countries across the world. This study tried to grasp the meaning of creative city in the northern region of Gyeongbook where the concept itself was not apparently distinctive. The result is that the inherent meaning of creative city was expanded to culture and athletic fields, though it was originated from taking advantage of nature, agricultural products in the region, and cultural and historical based tourism. On the other hand, the role of regional authority was examined to explore how the concept of creative city is realized in practice. There are some differences among the local authorities in the aspect of leadership. network system within the region, and social network with outside.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the landslide susceptibility, containing the process, which reveals spatial relationships between landslides and geospatial data sets, which occurred in Janghung area in 1998. Landslide locations were detected from remotely sensed image and field survey and topography, soil, forest, and land use data sets were constructed as a spatial database in GIS. As the landslide occurrence factors, slope, aspect, curvature and type of topography, texture, material, drainage and effective thickness of soil, type, age, diameter and density of wood and land use were used. To extract the relationship between landslides and geospatial database, likelihood ratio was calculated and compared with the result of Yongin area. Also, the landslide susceptibility index was calculated by summation of the likelihood ratio and the landslide susceptibility map was generated using the index. As a result, it is expected that spatial relationships between landslides and geospatial database is helpful to explain the characteristics of lilndslide and the landslide susceptibility map is used to reduce associated hazards, and to plan land use and construction.
