  • In most absorption machines, absorption enhancement has been achieved by adding small amount of surfactant additive, which introduced the surface tension difference between absorbent and surfactant droplets in the vapor absorption. The aim of this study is to understand a basic mechanism of Marangoni convection and its effectiveness in the vapor absorption enhancement. In this study, nonflowing aqueous solution of LiBr 60 mass% was exposed to saturated water vapor under the condition that two dropwises surfactant were fixed on the absorbent surface. Our experiments achieved to visualize the enhanced heat and mass transfer phenomena by the effect of Marangoni convection through the laser holographic interferometry. Also, Marangoni convection behavior was obtained by using tracer method.

A Study on Partial Load Performance of Absorption Type Heat Pump for Waste Heat Recovery of Closed Cooling Water (기기냉각수 폐열회수용 흡수식 히트펌프의 부분부하 성능에 관한 연구)

  • As absorption type heat pump for waste heat recovery is installed in combined cycle power plant for Energy Service Company, performance test is implemented to confirm the operation data on partial load. The operation data changes according to the heat pump operation on partial load are as follows. Total heat output increases, because waste heat of closed cooling water and a portion of LP steam from HRSG is supplied. But electric power output of steam turbine is reduced, because LP steam to steam turbine is reduced. And heat output from HP district heater and LP district heater is reduced, because HP turbine exhaust steam to HP district heater and LP district heater is reduced. On partial load operation, turbine output reduction is higher than the base load operation. Therefore, on partial load, heat pump should be operated in consideration of the heat output increase and electric power output reduction.

  • CIS(CuInSe2)계 화합물 태양전지는 높은 광흡수계수와 열적 안정성으로 고효율의 태양전지 제조가 가능하여 화합물 태양전지용 광흡수층으로서 매우 이상적이다. 또한 In 일부를 Ga으로 치환하여 밴드갭을 조절할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 미국 NREL에서는 Co-evaporation 방법을 이용해 20%의 에너지 변환 효율을 달성하였다고 보고된바가 있다. 본 연구에서는 미국의 NREL과 같은 3 stage 방식을 이용하여 광흡수층을 제조하고자 한다. 본 실험에서는 Se 증기압을 각각 $200^{\circ}C$, $230^{\circ}C$, $240^{\circ}C$, $245^{\circ}C$로 달리 하며 실험을 실시하였다. 이때 1st stage의 시간은 15분으로 고정하였으며 기판온도는 약 $250^{\circ}C$로 고정 하였다. 2nd stage는 실시간 온도 감지 장치를 이용하여 Cu와 In+Ga의 조성비가 1:1이 되는 시간을 기준으로 Cu의 조성을 30%더 높게 조절하였으며 기판 온도는 약 $520^{\circ}C$로 고정 후 실험을 실시하였다. 3rd stage의 경우 Cu poor 조성으로 조절하기 위해 모든 조건을 10분으로 고정 후 실험을 실시하였다. 각각의 Se 증기압에 따른 물리적, 전기적 특성을 알아보기 위해 FE-SEM, EDS, XRD 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 기판은 Na이 첨가되어있는 soda-lime glass를 사용 하였으며 후면 전극으로 약60nm 두께의 Mo를 DC Sputtering 방법을 이용해 증착 하였다.

  • This paper deals with the basic principles and procedures involved in the steam-chest molding process used for manufacturing expanded polypropylene (EPP) bead foam. Steam-chest molding is an integral process for EPP technology. However, little research has been carried out on the processing conditions for steam-chest molding this process. The characteristics of EPP foam are energy absorption, multiple-impact protection, low weight, structural strength, and durability. In this study, the steam pressure in steam-chest molding was varied to determine the optimum conditions for manufacturing EPP foam. Moreover, annealing was performed after EPP-foam molding to prevent the shrinkage of the steam-molded product. It was possible to verify the mechanism of foam shrinkage by observing the change in weight with time at different annealing temperatures. Moreover, a tensile test and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis were performed to support these experimental results. The dimensional stability of each molded product was investigated at different steam pressures.

  • 페놀의 작업 노출에 대한 TLV-TWA는 5ppm ($19mg/m^3$)으로 눈과 호흡기계의 자극과 함께 심장, 간, 신경 독성 영향을 최소화하기 위해 설정되었다. 페놀은 증기상과 액상 또는 고체상 형태로 피부에 접촉되면 흡수되어 심각한 계통 영향을 유발하여 최종적으로 사망에 이르게 한다. 피부를 통한 흡수율은 흡입에 의한 체내 흡수율과 거의 동일한 수준이다. 따라서 현재 Skin notation(피부흡수 경고) 물질로 지정되어 있다. 발암성 여부를 결정하기 위한 동물 실험 결과에서는 음성 또는 발암성을 판정하기에는 데이터가 부족한 관계로 A4로 지정되어 있다. 또한 SEN과 TLV-STEL도 유용한 자료의 부족으로 아직 설정되지 않고 있다. 페놀은 BEIs로 활용될 수 있는 기질 중 하나이다.

태양열을 이용한 냉방장치 -급수식 냉동기를 중심으로-

  • 태양열을 냉방에 이용하기 위한 시스템은 집열기,열교환기,냉동기 등으로 구성된다. 집열기는 난 방시와 마찬가지로 볼 때 냉난방을 병용하는 집열기를 사용하면 유리하다. 열교환기는 집열기에 서 수집한 열을 냉방기에 전달시키는 기능을 가지는데 용도에 따라 이것을 사용하지 않는 경우도 있다. 냉동기로는 보통 흡수식 냉동기를 사요하나 그외 개방식, 분사식 등의 냉동기도 사용된다. 그러나 분방식 냉동기는 취급은 용이하나 흡수제의 재생조건이 까다로워 높은 습기를 갖는 경우 재생온도가 역시 높아져야 하므로 우리나라의 경우에는 여름철의 습도가 높기 때문에 재생온도가 높아져야 하므로 태양열 냉방에는 부적당하다. 또 분사식 냉동기의 경우 성적계수(Coefficient of Performance) 가 다른 냉동기에 비해 낮고 증기압력이 낮으면 이것이 극히 낮아지기 때문에 태양 열 냉방에 많이 사용하지 않는다. 그래서 태양열 냉방에 있어서 냉동기는 거의 흡수식을 사용하 고 있으며, 여기에서도 주로 흡수식 냉동기를 사용한 냉방에 대하여 논하고져 한다.

Evaluation on solubility and vapor pressure of H2O/(LiBr+CaCl2) solution as a working fluid (H2O/(LiBr+CaCl2) 3성분계 흡수용액의 용해도 및 증기압 특성 평가)

  • Solubility on $(LiBr+CaCl_2)$ in water has been measured systematically and compared with those of pure LiBr. It has been observed that there exists optimum value of $CaCl_2(LiBr+CaCl_2)$ in solubility when total$(LiBr+CaCl_2)$ concentration is higher than 57wt%. As total concentration increases up to 65wt%, it is found that the optimum value also increases monotonically. From the experimental results, a master plot has been constructed, with which optimum ratio of LiBr to $CaCl_2$ can be found in terms of total concentration. Vapor pressure of $H_2O/(LiBr+CaCl_2)$ solution with optimum contents of $CaCl_2$ has been observed to be changed negligibly at relatiely low temperature. However, as temperature increases, it is found that increasement in vapor pressure is significant.

  • Film absorption involves simultaneous heat and mass transfer in the vapor-liquid system. In the present work, the absorption process of water vapor by an aqueous soluton of LiBr flowing inside of the vertical tube was investigated. The continuity, momentum, energy and diffusion equations for the solution film and vapor were formulated in integral forms and solved numerically. The model could predict the film thickness, the pressure gradient, and the heat and mass transfer rate. Particularly the effects of vapor flow conditions on the absorption process were investigated in terms of the vapor Reynolds number. As the vapor Reynolds number increased, the shear stress at the vapor-solution interface also increased. Consequently solution film became thinner at higher vapor flowrate under the co-currentflow condition. Thinner film was capable of higher heat transfer to the wall and leaded to higher absorption rate of the water vapor into the solution film.

  • This paper discusses the thermodynamic study on the suction cooling-steam injected gas turbine cycle. The aim of this study is to improve the thermal efficiency and the specific output by steam injection produced by the waste heat from the waste heat recovery boiler and by cooling compressor inlet air by an ammonia absorption-type suction cooling system. The operating region of this newly devised cycle depends upon the pinch point limit and the outlet temperature of refrigerator. The higher steam injection ratio and the lower the evaporating temperature of refrigerant allow the higher thermal efficiency and the specific output. The optimum pressure ratios and the steam injection ratios for the maximum thermal efficiency and the specific output can be found. It is evident that this cycle considered as one of the most effective methods which can obtain the higher thermal efficiency and the specific output comparing with the conventional simple cycle and steam injected gas turbine cycle.
