With regard to CSR, Proactive CSR has been less researched in small and medium enterprises(SMEs). This study examines empirically the association between SME's organizational capabilities, proactive CSR and performance as well as a moderating role of perceived uncertainty between capabilities and proactive CSR. Using quantitative data collected from sample of 485 SMEs in Korea, we find that all specified capabilities are positively associated with adoption of proactive CSR by SMEs and that proactive CSR is, in turn, associated with an improvement in firm performance. In addition, we also find a mediating role of proactive CSR on the association between capabilities and performance as well as a moderating role of perceived uncertainty between capabilities and performance. The study is likely to contribute to SME's CSR strategy.

This research empirically analyzes not only the direct impact of the external technological information network diversity of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on the sales growth from their technology development but also the mediating impact of their productivity improvement and the moderating effect of the technology development driven by CEO on this direct impact in order to deepen the research stream on SMEs' external technological information network. Based on the ordinary least squares regression by using 2,200 data of South Korean SMEs, this study reveals the three findings. First, SMEs' external technological information network diversity positively influences their sales growth from technology development. Second, SMEs' productivity improvement partially mediates this positive influence of the external technological information network diversity. Third, SMEs' technology development driven by CEO moderates the positive influence.

In the recent efficiency study became accomplished generally a listed company, the efficiency study of small manufacturing industry is deficient. The purpose of this study analysis efficiency of small manufacturing industry by using the DEA model. DEA model is non-financial approach method to measure relative efficiency by input factors and output. The panel data from 1996 to 1999 are used for the analysis. The relative mean-efficiency can be summarized as follows. The wholesale trade and commission trade manufacturing industry 68.99%, communication equipment manufacturing industry 60.58%, food products and beverages manufacturing industry 91.05%, motor vehicles, trailers and semitrailers manufacturing industry 85.80%, basic metals manufacturing industry 88.96%, pulp, paper and paper products manufacturing industry 96.53%, chemical and chemical products manufacturing industry appeared with 78.67%. The results is expected to provide the empirical evidence useful to enhancing the competitiveness of manufacturing industry in korea.

The production management is one of the essential capabilities of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the information technology sector (IT). Therefore, this study empirically analyzed the effects of such important factors as external information network diversity and manufacturing capability on IT SMEs' production management capability. Based on the 310 data collected from Korean SMEs in the IT sector, the ordinary least squares regression results from this study by using the SPSS version 22 have empirically shown that IT SMEs' external information network diversity has a positive and significant effect on their production management capability and this effect is fully mediated by their manufacturing capability. These findings provide a meaningful implication that the positive impact of IT SMEs' external information network diversity is linked to their production management capability through their manufacturing capability.

This research suggests the security countermeasures for solving technology outflow of small-medium companies in New IT Environment through level comparison of security cognition and security management between small-medium companies and major big companies. According to analysis results, it is poor for small-medium companies' level of security cognition and security management compared with major big companies. Small-medium companies need to manage technology outflow to major big companies' level in New IT Environment. Small-medium companies has started to build New IT Environment recently and it must build the appropriate security system for small-medium companies at the same time. Small-medium company has more problem with budget and proffessionals to maintain the security of technology outflow. Therefore government has to support systematic management for the security of technology outflow to Small-medium companies

The purpose of this study is to investigate the actual effect of government R&D support and regulation as a policy on technology innovation of SMEs. Because the previous studies did not consider the endogeneity of R&D support and made inconsistent conclusions in the case of regulation, the empirical research was conducted by logistic, negative binomial regression and 2SLS analysis for 1,223 SMEs. The analysis results show that government support has the effect for technology innovation even considering the endogeneity of government R&D support, and government regulation has a positive effect on technology innovation which supports Porter's theory. These results imply that government R&D support is important in inducing technology innovation because of the vulnerability of SMEs technology development environment and government should foster SMEs technology innovation through appropriate regulation policies rather than unconditional deregulation.

This study argued problems and improvement of export support system for SMEs in the uncertain world global trade environment with G2(US-China) risk. In SMEs export support system, The authorities needs stronger control tower to promote consistent export support policies. There is also another problem of repetitious work that export support system has been operated by individual project. In order to overcome these problems, first, the authorities set clearly organization to control various export support policies. Second, export support system needs the efficient operation based on long term road map. Third, the authorities defines clear roles and responsibilities of supporting units, and enhances cooperation between the different organizations. Finally, the system should arrange performance evaluation index and feedback system to build the desirable export support system.

Information is a valuable asset regardless of the size of the enterprise and information security is an essential element for the survival and prosperity of the enterprise. However, in the case of large corporations, Security is ensured through rapid introduction of information security management system. but In the case of SMEs, security systems are not built or construction is delayed due to complex factors such as budget constraints, insufficient security guidelines, lack of security awareness. In this paper, we analyze the actual situation of information security management of SMEs through questionnaires, and We would like to suggest a comprehensive security plan for SMEs in free or inexpensive ways. We believe that by applying the method presented in this paper, SMEs will be able to implement the lowest cost basic information security and will benefit SMEs who plan to establish an information security plan.

Despite a quantitative increase in the export of small and medium sized businesses due to various policies supporting export that have been continually promoted by the government, the majority of export growth has been centered around conglomerates. As research has shown that export companies are superior in terms of job creation and growth compared to domestic companies, the conversion of domestic companies to export companies will not only result in job creation and increase in exports, but it will also enable the improvement of such companies. It is therefore important to support the export of small and medium sized businesses and maintain their status as export companies with supporting policies. The purpose of this study is to analyze the present state of the export environment of Korean and foreign small and medium sized businesses in order to elicit ideas for establishing strategies for the promotion of export and maintaining the status as an export company.

The competence of SME's technological innovation is deemed as one of the crucial factors in national and regional economies. Yet, as seen in previous studies, there is a dearth of studies on this subject, and policy and academic circles had been inclined to relatively underestimate the contribution of the SMEs to economies and industries (such as, job creation and GDP contribution). Generally, there is a bias that the innovative activity of the large-sized firm is likely to perform better than that of the small-sized company. According to several case studies, however, SME possesses a more appropriate form for innovative activities, and significantly contributes to creating advanced industrial agglomeration. Hence, this study analyses the contribution of the SME innovation to the national and regional economy along with analysing the extant literature. In doing so, we can reason out theoretical and policy implications.
