Comparative Characteristics of Small and Medium-sized Firms in Korea (우리나라 중소기업법인의 업종별 지역별 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Over the past 20 years new and small firms have been identified as significant components of economic strategies for job and wealth creation. Implicit in these strategies has been the search for policies which will increase the supply of new firms, and will encourage established firms' growth. Yet the majority firms spend the whole of their economic life within the small firm sector. The aim of this paper is to suggest a multidimensional approach to the understanding of the comparative characteristics of the small firm by providing evidence as to the factors which describe firms of different sizes, regions and industries. And I discuss in the context of policy options for regional economic development in Korea. The results from the analyses are summarized as follows. The size of the small firms in the sample measured in terms of both number of employees and sales revenue are characterized by regions, export performance and R&D. There is also some indication that growing firms may develop more complex environment. These results are based upon a multi-dimensional analysis of the strategic profile of a sample of small firms using KIS. From this observation of the firms during the data collection period, this is a conclusion that I find intuitively appealing.

Business Failure: Overview and Research Trend (사업실패에 관한 국내외 연구동향)

  • The main purpose of this study is to analyze research trend of 'business failure' from academic papers published in Asia Pacific Journal of Small Business. In this review, first, we reviewed research trend of failure, published in academic journals at abroad, explored the major topics, and set forth the framework of classification. Second, we selected and analyzed 16 Korean articles in a refined search from total 1,060 articles published in Asia Pacific Journal of Small Business from 1979 to 2019. Third, in order to understand overall research trend in Korea, additional publication search was done by online database system using keywords, and 24 other articles were selected. As a result, five research themes were identified and analyzed: (1) bankruptcy prediction, (2) emotion before and after failure, (3) costs of failure, (4) causes of failure, and (5) reentry determinants. We believe that this purposed review will offer future research issues regarding business failure.

  • 국내 ICT 산업은 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖추고 경제발전에 크게 이바지 해왔으며, 현재는 4차산업과 다양한 산업들의 융합의 구심점으로 인식되며 앞으로의 경제 성장 동력으로 주목받고 있다. 이러한 ICT 산업을 국내외에서 다양한 모습으로 인식하고 있다. 그 중, 국내외를 막론하고 ICT 산업에 대해 존재하는 강한 스테레오타입은 ICT는 남성중심(masculine)적인 산업이라는 것이다. 본 연구는 이런 ICT산업의 남성 중심성이 서과에 이떠한 여햐을 주는지 고찰하기 위해서 2015년 중소기업 기술통계조사 결과를 활용하여 ICT 중소기업에서 젠더와 기술적 및 경제적 성과 간 관계를 살펴보았다. 공동연구선호여부나 R&D 지원을 받은 경험이 중소기업의 기술적 및 경제적 성과와 어떤 관계가 있는지 분석하였다. 특히 본 연구는 ICT산업여부와 여성연구원 보유여부가 정책지원과 성과의 관계에 영향을 주는 중요한 요인으로 보고 분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구의 결과에 따르면 ICT기업 중 여성연구원을 고용하고 있는 기업은 그렇지 않은 ICT기업에 비해 높은 기술적 성과를 보이고 있었다. 경제적 성과의 측면에서는 여성연구원을 고용하고 있으며 단독연구를 선호하는 ICT기업이 다른 ICT기업에 비해 높은 신기술개발 매출액을 보였다. 연구의 결과는 ICT 중소기업의 지원정책을 구상하는 정책입안자들과 여성의 ICT산업 고용 및 경제 활동 진흥 정책을 구상하는 정책입안자들에게 다양한 시사점을 제공할 것으로 기대한다.

The Study of Protective Solution and People in Technology Outflow about SMEs (중소기업 기술유출 및 기술인력 방지제도에 관한 연구)

  • Cause of the technology leakage and trade secrets can be leaked to the lack of infrastructure, lack of coping skills of SMEs. In addition, small businesses can avoid technology outflow and re-experience the same half of the damage, even when the external leak developed after the fact and does not demonstrate such technology leakage time for the technology and situation which did not take any action, security, infrastructure investments difficult, work-related knowledge, lack of security, trade secret protection dedicated staff, inadequate legal and institutional measures have been identified as such complaints to date. For subcontracting, etc. mid-sized transactions, hinder the growth of SMEs, SME cross-technology leakage to the increase in unfair practices, including useful, and this has been accompanied by growth-based business-to-business it weakened.

  • 최근 4차산업혁명으로 산업계에 전반적으로 확산하고 있는 디지털트랜스포메이션과 코로나19로 인한 장기적인 경기 불황의 여파로 대응 역량이 제한적일 수밖에 없는 중소기업의 어려움이 갈수록 심화하고 있다. 중소기업은 기업의 성과를 높이기 위해 경영혁신과 함께 조직구성원들의 역량을 강화하기 위한 다양한 노력을 지속하고 있다. 이러한 중소기업의 성장과 조직구성원의 역량 향상은 국가 경제에 매우 중요한 의미를 가지고 있다. 이에 조직구성원의 자발적인 참여와 동기부여를 통해 직무만족도를 높이고 조직성과를 창출하려는 관심이 날로 높아지고 있다. 본 연구의 목적 역시 중소기업의 조직문화와 조직구성원의 자기효능감이 직무만족도와 어떠한 상관관계를 가지고 있는가를 조사하고 잡 크래프팅의 매개 역할 여부를 분석하는 데 있다. 본 연구에서는 조직문화와 자기효능감이 중소기업의 잡 크래프팅을 활성화하고, 활성화된 잡 크래프팅이 직무만족도에 영향을 미칠 것이라는 인과적 관계를 검증하고자 한다. 불확실한 경영환경 아래서 중소기업의 지속적인 생존과 성장을 위해 자기주도적으로 새로운 변화에 빠르게 대응할 수 있는 잡 크래프팅을 매개변수로, 그리고 조직구성원의 핵심 역량으로 요구되고 있는 직무만족도를 종속변수로 설정하여 본 연구를 진행하였다.

A self-assessment model for 'good jobs' in SMEs (중소기업 '좋은 일자리'를 위한 자가평가 모형)

  • The youth job problem is becoming more serious due to COVID-19. To solve this problem, a "good job platform" was proposed that allows young job seekers to easily and conveniently find excellent SMEs they want to work for. This study developed a "good job self-assessment model" that grasps the preferred jobs of young job seekers and evaluates SMEs and applied them in the platform. In this process, the characteristics of good jobs from the viewpoint of job seekers were identified through conjoint analysis from the viewpoint of salary level, performance compensation, working environment, corporate soundness, and organizational culture. Next, the importance of 13 detailed evaluation items was reflected through AHP for industry, academia, and research experts. The self-assessment model of this study can be used as a tool to improve awareness that changes the SME environment into a job favored by young job seekers. As a result, it could provide an opportunity to change the job problem from providing cost-oriented support to a qualitative solution.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the relationship between teamwork and job satisfaction in team leadership behavior of SMEs. For this study, the survey data of 158 SME employees in the Seoul metropolitan area were analyzed by structural equation modeling. The results of the study are as follows. Team leadership behavior had a significant effect on teamwork. Teamwork was found to have a positive effect on job satisfaction. Therefore, this study identified ways to enhance competitiveness and stimulate team leadership behavior by cultivating team leadership behavior and teamwork competencies in accordance with the strategies of SMEs. It can also contribute to the development and strategy formulation and management of team leadership competencies to improve performance in SMEs.

  • SME have typically different financial constraints. However, small company need technological innovation in order to survive. The Purpose of this paper is to strengthen their technology innovation of Korean SMEs through international technological cooperation with the EU. This study has six chapters. Section 2 deals with the innovation force about the theoretical background for SME and Chapter 3 is innovation force and international technical cooperation in SME. Chapter 4 consist of methods. And Chapter 5 is the case study of european SMES, which attain enhancing technical innovation through the EUREKA Project. Finally Chapter 6 is discussed conclusions and implications.

  • 경기도 안산시에 위치한 경기테크노파크(원장 배성열)는 '산업기술단지 지원에 관한 특례법' 에 의거해 현재 광역지방자치단체별로 설립된 전국 16개테크노파크중 하나다. 1998년 개원이후 유망벤처기업의 발굴육성을 비롯,교육 훈련,정보교류, 연구개발 등 중소기업을 위한 지원활동을 펼쳐왔으며 산업자원부 ,경기도, 안산시의 재정.행정지원을 바탕으로 한양대학교를 비롯한 인근 6개 대학을 연결해 경기도 중소기업을 위한 연구지원활동을 하고있다. 현재 59개 중소벤처기업이 입주해 있고 연구개발, 시제품 생산, 품질인증, 위탁생산, 마케팅, 경영컨설팅 등을 지원받고 있다. 경기지역의 명실상부한 첨단지식산업 육성의 요람으로 자리매김하고 있는 경기테크노파크를 찾아가본다.

An Empirical Study of the Effects of Corporate Social Responsibility Fitness of Small and Medium Enterprise on Corporate Reputation and Purchase Intention (중소기업 CSR 적합성이 기업명성과 구매의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Social responsibility of enterprises has recently been emphasized in practice. However, most of the previous studies on social responsibility has been mainly made on the large enterprises, not including small and medium enterprises. This study investigates the literature of previous studies and conducts the survey to find out how the fitness of small and medium enterprises' social responsibility affects corporate reputation and purchase intention. According to the analysis results of 101 valid responses, the study shows that fitness of small and medium enterprises' social responsibility affects corporate reputation and purchase intention, and corporate reputation has an effect on purchase intention. The results of this study may provide many small and medium enterprises with guidelines for their social responsibility activities.
