Deformation of Moho in the Southern Part of the Korean Peninsula (한반도 남부 모호면의 변형 구조)

  • The Moho structure and its deformation in the southern part of the Korean Peninsula were estimated using gravity and topography data. Gravity signals from the upper and lower crust were separated using a filter that was computed from isostacy and elastic thickness. The result of this study shows three characteristic features of the Moho deformation. First, the Moho folding structure is parallel to SKTL (the South Korean Tectonic Line), which indicates positive association with the collision of the Yeongnam and Gyeonggi Massifs and repeated compression afterwards. In contrast, noticeable deformation of the Moho was not observed along the Imjingang Belt, which is interpreted as another continental collisional belt in the Korean Peninsula. Second, the Moho beneath the Gyeongsang Basin has remarkably risen; this seems to be the result from both the collisional compression and buoyancy caused by magmatic underplating. Third, the Moho deformation is shallowest in the east of the Taebaek Mountains and deepens toward the west, consistent with the topographic characteristic of the Korean Peninsula of "high east and low west". It can be interpreted as the results of the opening of the East Sea and Ulleung Basin. A tectonic explanation for this could be the ascent of the mantle induced by continental rifting and horizontal extension at the early stage of the opening of the East Sea. The Moho deformation model computed in this study correlates well with the earthquake distribution and crustal movement measured by GPS. We suggest that the compression along the SKTL is still exerted, consequently, the Moho deformation is active, although it may be weak.

A Study on Forecasting Trip Distribution of Land Development Project Using Middle Zone Size And Gravity Model (중죤단위와 중력모형을 이용한 택지개발사업의 통행분포 예측방법에 관한 연구)

  • In case of land development projects constructed, to solve induced transportation volume needs analysis of traffic demand. Trip-generation of land development projects is exactly predicted by using traffic instigating-basic-unit in each facility of land developments. But in case of a phase of trip-distribution, because a range of destinations is very enormous and it needs enormous data to reflect all of its characters, whenever trip-distribution is predicted, the method which assumes the rate of trip-distribution is same both before completion of land development projects and after is often used. But because there is no exact criterion, the method suggested above is also affected by subjective opinion. Accordingly, this study look over using trip-distribution of specific areas's DB and suggests a size of zone to predict a distribution of land development projects exactly. Also production - constrained gravity model which uses the gap between a distribution of suggested ranges and induced land development project is suggested for more exact prediction of trip-distribution. Besides accuracy of prediction is scrutinized by using Mean Squared Error.

Geophysical Investigation of the change of geological environment of the Nanjido Landfill due to the Stabilization Process (난지도 매립장의 안정화에 따른 지질환경 변화 조사를 위한 지구물리 탐사)

  • We have conducted multiple geophysical surveys to investigate the geoenvironmental change of the Nanjido Landfill due to the stabilization process. Geophyscial surveys are comprized of gravity, magnetic, dipole-dipole electrical and SP methods. Due to the field conditions, surveys were conducted on the top surface of the landfill no.2 and southern border areas in front of landfills. The gravity anomalies obtained on the top surface of the landfill no.2 in 1999 show that the gradient of the anomaly on the central area is decreasing in comparison with that observed four years ago. The complexity of magnetic anomaly pattern it also decreasing. These facts suggest that the stabilization work of the Nanjido landfill makes some progress by compaction process due to repetitive subsidence and refilling. The dipole-dipole electrical resistivity and SP data obtained on the outside of the waterproof wall at the landfill no.1 were severely affected by unsatisfactory surface conditions. On the other hand, the dipole-dipole electrical resistivity profiles obtained on the inside and outside parts of the waterproof wall at the landfill no.2 show the blocking effect of leachate flow by the waterproof wall. Few SP anomalies are observed on the top and side surfaces of the landfill no.2, but SP anomalies obtained on the base area inside the waterproof wall strongly reflect the effect of leachate collecting wells.

Dewatering of Sewage Sludge by Electrokinetics (동전기를 이용한 슬러지 탈수에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, an experiment of sewage sludge dewatering is carried by using electrokinetic method, and the electrokinetic dewatering efficiency of digested sludge is analyzed. Digested sludge without coagulants is selected and gravitational and pressing dewatering methods are applied in combination with electro-osmotic and electro-osmotic pulse technology. After the test of digested sludge, dewatering test of thickened sludge is carried to evaluate the electrokinetic dewatering feasibility of thickened sludge. Under the condition of constantly applied voltage, however, electrical resistance increases with decreasing of water content so that dewatering rate decreases with time. To reduce such a hindrance caused by constantly applied voltage, electro-osmotic pulse technology which is considered to reduce the difference of water content with height, is applied. For the application of electro-osmotic pulse, the dewatered flow rate and the dewatered volume became more increasing from the middle of the dewatering process than that of continuous voltage. Through the test of thickened sludge, electro-osmotic dewatering combined with gravitational and expression also showed high dewatering rate, which proved the possibility of using electrokinetic dewatering.

  • 플렉시블한 관절을 가지고 있는 로보트에 대하여 계단(step) 혹은 경사(ramp) 함수로 기준입력이 주어졌을 때, 모델의 불확실성이나 외란 아래에서 추적오차가 없는 디지찰 제어기법을 제시하고 실제로 실험을 통하여 제어기를 MC 68000으로 구현함으로써 제안한 제어 알고리즘의 유용성을 보였다. 제어기 설계에 있 어서 고려한 사항들은 비선형 마찰력, 중력에 의한 외란, 구동기와 부하사이의 뒤틀림 스프링 효과, 구리고 측 정할 수 없는 상태변수들이다. 또한 미분불가능한 쿨롱마찰로 인하여 전체 시스템이 이산/연속 혼성 시스템이 되어 출력에서 나타나는 리미트 싸이클을 해석/추정하기 위하여 혼성 시스템에서의 기술함수(Describing Function) 법을 제시하였다.

  • We developed the S/W which calculate the Planetary and the Moon ephemerides. The ephemeris of the Solar system objects was obtained from a simultaneous numerical integration of the equations of motion for the nine planets and the Moon. The mathematical model includes contributions from (1) point-mass interactions (2) figure effect (3) earth tides (4) the orientations of the Earth and the Moon. The calculated ephemerides are compared with DE200 data produced by JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory).

EFFECTS OF DAMPING LENGTHS ON THE WIND VELOCITY FOR 32 CYG (감쇄길이 변화에 따른 32 Cyg의 항성풍 속도분포)

  • We calculated the wind velocities for 32 Cyg in order to understand how influence a damping length on the wind of supergiant driven by Alfven waves. Four cases, $\lambda$=0.9, 1.0, 5.0, the ratio of the damping length to the supergiant's radius, and the damping length increasing linearly with the distance from the star, were compared. The results showed the forces by Alfven waves gave the major contribution to the wind velocity but the forces by the pressure and gravitation did little. The model for the damping length with the linear relation showed the rapid increased due to short damping length near the surface of the star.

  • 본 논문에서는 최근 이슈가 되고 있는 문화 컨텐츠인 WebToon 의 단순한 표현력을 보완하고 정적인 카툰이 아닌 동적인 카툰을 제공하는 서비스에 대해 기술한다. Background, Object, Particle 3 개의 Multi Layer 를 기반으로 중력가속도, 모멘트연산을 이용한 물리엔진이 적용된 Particle system 을 사용하여 컨텐츠에 동적인 효과를 나타내준다. 컨텐츠 제작자가 PC Tool 에서 작업한 컨텐츠를 리얼툰 서비스를 통하여 관리하고, Application 을 통하여 독자에게 제공하는 서비스에 대한 Architecture 를 제안한다.

  • In this work variations of orbital parameters are first derived from the perturbation equations using difference equation method under Earth oblateness and atmospheric drag. A simple and effective scheme is proposed to compute the required delta v and fuel consumption to compensate for atmospheric drag. The scheme is applied to KOMPSAT example. And by means of numerical simulations we quantitatively analyze influences due to each perturbation source, i.e., nonspherical Earth, atmospheric drag, third body gravities (Sun, Moon), and solar radiation.

  • Particle suspension is frequently observed in many natural flows such as in the atmosphere and the ocean as well as in various engineering flows. Recently, airborne micro or nano-scale particles in atmosphere attract much attention from environmental society since small particle cause serious environmental problems in the industrialized areas. Also, the characteristics of such heavy particles' behavior is quite different from its fluid particles because the inertia force and buoyance force acting on the heavy particles are different than those acting on fluid particles. Therefore, our studies is to investigate the characteristics of the behavior of heavy particles considering the inertia effect with or without gravity effect, but do not consider modification of turbulence by the particles, that is one-way interaction. We carried out direct numerical simulation of isotropic turbulence with particles under the Stokes drag assumption for a spherical particle. These results can be used in the development of a stochastic model for predicting particle's behavior.
