Analyzing Recent Trends and Efforts for Developing Teaching Competences in China's Higher Education (대학의 교원교육을 위한 최근의 노력 및 동향 분석 :중국의 교수학습지원시스템을 중심으로)

  • Recently, the Chinese government has appointed the 'Centers for Faculty Development' (CFD) in 30 universities as the nationally-levelled model center for faculty development in October 2012, and its policy for the quality of college education and teaching expertise has begun. Therefore, this study is aimed at grasping the current situation and problems of Chinese universities' CFDs, and suggesting future development directions. Especially, it attempted to analyze the operational condition of 'the Center for Faculty Development' of H University located in Hebei Province, China. The following research questions were constructed; 1) At the national level, it quantitatively analyzed the China's developmental steps of higher education by using the data of China's Ministry of Education, and along with this national background, this study tried to grasp teachers' perceptions of teaching activities and their demands toward CFD programs, through a questionnaire survey of faculty members of H University. The data analysis indicated that those centers for faculty development in China were established quickly, and has evolved into specialized organizations for enhancing teaching expertise. This study can contribute to promoting productive exchanges of higher education between Korea and China in the future.

Analysis on the Trend and Reality of Higher Education Marketization in China (중국 고등교육의 시장화 추세와 실상 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze widely how the higher education of China introduced market mechanism, adjusted and changed its structure, and what is its characteristic today. The market-orientedness of China's higher education has been strengthened as the direction of Chinese socialism was converted to the improvement of productivity and Socialist's Market Economy proceeded. It developed gradually from the experimental stage of the introduction of market economy, through its real introduction stage and the stage of strengthening of market-orientedness, and finally to the deepening and development stage. Through these processes, China's higher education has got the characteristic of market-orientedness. It is being improved for the strengthening of autonomy, privatization, and raising of competitiveness and has China's unique local trait.

A Comparative Study on High School Chemistry Curricula in Korea and China (한국과 중국 고등학교 화학 교육과정의 비교 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze high school chemistry curricula in Korea and China in order to identify possible implications for the improvement of the Korean curriculum. The school curricula of Korea and China had been developed by the Ministry of Education of both countries as national curricula. The 1996 Chinese high school chemistry curriculum, and the 7th Korean high school chemistry curriculum announced in 1997 were compared in respect to the characters, objectives, history, time allotment, structure, subject contents, and assessment plans. Based on the comparative analysis of the curricula, some of the ideas, which provide implications for the improvement of Korean chemistry curriculum, were identified. The identified ideas were elaborated to seek directions for the solutions of current problems in chemistry curriculum. such as common science subject. tentative implementation of curriculum, compulsory provision of chemistry, subjects in science course, enlargement of curriculum, and methods of assessment.

  • 본 고에서는 현재 중국에서 추진되고 있는 고등교육 부문에 대한 진흥시책을 "211공정(工程)"을 중심으로 조망해보았다. 등소평의 중점대학 육성 구상에 따라 중국 국내의 제반 여건을 고려하여 "구오(九五)"기간 중에 개시된 "211공정(工程)"의 주요내용은 국가중점대학(國家重點大學)과 국가중점학과(國家重點學科) 건설 사업이다. 강역민(江澤民) 집권 후에는 "과교흥국(科敎興國)"을 기본국책으로 설정하여 교육부(敎育部)내의 과학기술사(科學技術司)에서 기지건설과 인재양성을 중점적으로 담당하면서 과학기술교육을 고등교육 발전의 기본축으로 삼아 적극적으로 추진하고 있다. 중국의 경우 이와 같은 국가 주도적인 진흥책을 중국공산당중앙위원회(중공중앙(中共中央))와 국무원의 방침 결정에 따라 집중육성(중점(中点)) 항목 결정 및 관리를 국무원 산하 유관부문이 상호 협조 하에 분담하여 지원하고 있다.

  • The "Belt and Road" economic development strategy provides new ideas for the transformation of my country's higher education. Under the guidance of the new development concept and relying on a good competitive platform, my country's higher education will have more possibilities for internationalization. The analysis of the connotation of the development concept of my country's higher education internationalization is mainly reflected in the development and tolerance of my country's higher education, and the innovation and sharing of development concepts. With this as the direction, my country's higher education institutions can combine the school's own school-running philosophy to formulate new teaching standards that are in line with international rules. Do a good job in the penetration of our country's excellent traditional culture, and handle the relationship between cultures of various countries. Actively learn from international advanced teaching concepts to build a scientific and perfect talent training mechanism.

Exploratory Analysis of High School Students' Expectation on the Benefits of Higher Education in China (중국 고등학생의 고등교육수익에 대한 기대에 관한 탐색적 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to do an exploratory analysis on the expectation of Chinese high-school students on the benefits of higher education. Higher education benefits were categorized into monetary-investment benefit, non monetary-investment benefit and consumptive benefit. The differences in expectation according to independent student factors and family background were analyzed. The survey data on every high school's 300 students and 300 their parents total 1200 in 2 high schools in YanTai was put into the analysis. The differences among groups and items were analyzed using Cross tabulation, ANOVA, etc with SPSS. The major findings are as follows. First, Chinese high-school students' overall expectation on higher education benefits was high. Second, Expectation on higher education benefits differed according to independent student factors, such as gender, academic year, grade, etc. Third, expectation on higher education benefits differed according to factors of family background. Fourth, level of expectation on higher education benefits between parents and students differed. In the future, the government should consider such various expectations and differences when dealing with higher education policies and university operation.
