  • In this paper, we investigate the secrecy outage probability when using a partial relay selection scheme in cooperative communication systems based on decode-and-forward with multi-relay. It is assumed that both the receiving node and the eavesdropping node receive signals at both the transmitting node and the relaying node. The two received signals are used to obtain the diversity gain using the MRC scheme. In this paper, we compute the theoretical formula of secrecy outage probability and compare the theoretical value with the simulation value to prove that equation is valid. The simulation results show how the secrecy outage probability varies with the number of relays.

  • Conventional wireless sensor network(WSN) has limited power and bandwidth. In order to develop multimedia sensor technology, high data rate communication systems are required. Cooperative communication system can help to decrease power consumption through spatial diversity. In cooperative transmission, one partner node assists one sensor node to transmit their data to destination. Instead of using M partners for M sensor nodes, we propose 1 partner for M sensor nodes. Proposed protocol offers similar diversity order as conventional one with much less bandwidth and hardware. It is able to almost reduce scattered nodes interference using orthogonal sub-carriers. In addition, we examined a power allocation between sensor nodes and relay that optimize the system performance.

  • Non Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) is a technology to guarantee the explosively increased Quality of Service(QoS) of users in 5G networks. NOMA can remove the frequent orthogonality in Orthogonal Multiple Access (OMA) while allocating the power differentially to classify user signals. NOMA can guarantee higher communication speed than OMA. However, the NOMA has one disadvantage; it consumes a more energy power when the distance increases. To solve this problem, relay nodes are employed to implement the cooperative NOMA control idea. In a cooperative NOMA network, relay node participations for cooperative communications are essential. In this paper, a new bandwidth allocation scheme is proposed for cooperative NOMA platform. By employing the idea of Vickrey-Clarke-Groves (VCG) mechanism, the proposed scheme can effectively prevent selfishly actions of relay nodes in the cooperative NOMA network. Especially, base stations can pay incentives to relay nodes as much as the contributes of relay nodes. Therefore, the proposed scheme can control the selfish behavior of relay nodes to improve the overall system performance.

  • In this paper, we propose EPCM(Efficient Prediction-based Context-awareness Matrix) algorithm analyzing connectivity by predicting cluster's context data such as velocity and direction. In the existing DTN, unrestricted relay node selection causes an increase of delay and packet loss. The overhead is occurred by limited storage and capability. Therefore, we propose the EPCM algorithm analyzing predicted context data using context matrix and adaptive revision weight, and selecting relay node by considering connectivity between cluster and base station. The proposed algorithm saves context data to the context matrix and analyzes context according to variation and predicts context data after revision from adaptive revision weight. From the simulation results, the EPCM algorithm provides the high packet delivery ratio by selecting relay node according to predicted context data matrix.

  • In this paper, the outage probability of efficient partial relay selection(EPRS) using only one-hop channel information in multi-hop systems is analyzed in Rayleigh fading channels. In particular, we derive an exact and closed-form expression for the outage probability of decode-and-forward relaying based EPRS. In order to prove the usefulness of EPRS in multi-hop systems, we also analyze the correlation between the end-to-end signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) and the SNR for each hop at an arbitrary relaying path. Furthermore, through numerical investigation, we compare the outage performances for EPRS and the best relay selection using all channel information.

  • User cooperation provides high reliability in wireless communication systems by employing relay nodes to transmit the same information. In this paper, a bit error rate (BER) study is presented for decode-and-forward (DF) relaying for user cooperation in independent and identically distributed Rayleigh fading channels. For an arbitrary number of relays, exact and closed-form expressions of the BER are proposed for M-ary PAM (Pulse Amplitude Modulation), QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) and PSK (Phase Shift Keying), respectively. It is also shown that the analytic results are perfectly matched with the simulated ones.

  • Distributed multi-hop relay scheme to reduce delay-constrained outage probability for broadcast network is proposed. We consider multi-hop relay scheme, which is similar to distributed beamforming, where multiple nodes simultaneously relay packets, and we propose channel access control and power control for relaying nodes to satisfy energy constraint. Compared with flooding which is multi-hop relay scheme used for ZigBee, the proposed scheme is better in terms of outage probability and average reception throughput.

  • In this paper, assuming that the transmitter can exploit imperfect channel state information (CSI), the diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) functions of three adaptive decode-and-forward (DF) relay protocols, each of which uses multiple-antennas at the destination node, at the relay node, or at the source node are derived. When the imperfect CSI qualities for the source-relay link, the relay-destination link, and the source-destination link are subject to asymptotic conditions, the additional diversity gains attainable by exploiting the imperfect CSI at the transmitter for those three adaptive DF relay protocols are investigated.
