Evaluation of Train Running Safety During Construction of Temporary Bridge on Existing Railway (기존선에서 가설교량 시공에 따른 열차의 주행안전성 평가)

  • Installing the temporary bridge after excavating the railway requires installing movable cross beam, but as it doesn't requires isolating the catenary or cutting the rail, it's applicable to double-track with frequent operation. In this study, a displacement meter was placed on temporary bridge to monitor the displacement pattern in curve section (R400) completed using temporary bridge method, and wheel load, lateral pressure and derailment coefficient were measured to evaluate the load imposed on track and the stability in curve section (R400) for quantitative evaluation of training running safety. As a result of the measurement, when trains passing over a temporary bridge, the maximum value of Wheel load and Lateral Force is analyzed as the 51% and 81% of standard level according to foreign country's performance tests, There is no trouble with stability analysis in Wheel load and Lateral Force occurring. Additionally, Wheel load and Lateral Force considered as the safety standard are tested 49% of limiting value regardless of trains, which the norm value quite well, there is no problem with train running.

Study on Obstacle Avoidance Algorithm of Autonomous Mobile Robots Using Infrared Sensor and Camera (적외선센서와 카메라를 이용한 자율주행로봇의 장애물회피 알고리즘 연구)

  • This paper proposes an algorithm for autonomous mobile robots to effectively navigate obstacles. In order to detect obstacles infrared sensors and cameras are employed. The infrared sensor is utilized to calculate the distance to obstacles while the captured images from the camera are used to determine the width of obstacles. To compute obstacle width, binary image processing, contour detection, and the minimum area rectangle technique are employed. Using the distance to obstacles and obstacle width, the avoidance angle is calculated, and this angle is incorporated into steering control. The proposed obstacle avoidance algorithm was implemented on an autonomous robot, and experimental results demonstrated a maximum reduction in avoidance time by 8.5 seconds compared to using only infrared sensors when the obstacle width is 30cm.

  • 본 논문은 차량의 공회전시 불완전연소로 인한 일산화탄소의 배출량이 최대인 점에 착안하여 일반 네비게이션에서 제공하는 최단거리 모드로 주행했을 시와 '막힘없는 길 안내를 제공' 한다는 최신 공간정보기술인 실시간교통정보서비스를 적용했을 시의 공회전시간 및 일산화탄소 배출량을 비교 평가하여, 실시간교통정보서비스의 일산화탄소 저감효과를 추정해보기 위해 진행되었다. 대구시내의 교통정체구역인 수성구청에서 성서초등학교에 이르는 약 12km의 구간을 선정하여 2주간 동일구간을 요일별 시간대별로 주행함으로써 최단거리 안내서비스 주행시와 실시간교통정보서비스를 적용한 경로주행시의 공회전시간을 기록하고 환경부에서 제공하는 연료별 배출계수와 평균속도에 따른 일산화탄소 배출계수를 이용하여 일산화탄소 배출량을 산정하였으며, 측정결과 공회전시간이 약 28%, 일산화탄소 배출량은 약 57%의 감축효과를 보임을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 자율주행 로봇의 제어를 위한 온톨로지 설계 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 '감지', '획득', '인식', '(경로 ${\cdot}$ 행동)계획', '행동'의 다섯 단계로 구성된 '인지 사이클'에서 '감지', '행동계획', '행동' 단계를 온톨로지를 이용하여 구현함으로써 온토롤지에 의한 로봇의 제어가 가능하도록 한다. 즉, '감지' 단계에서는 자율주행 로봇이 센서를 통해 감지한 환경 정보를 온톨로지로 표현하고, '행동계획' 단계에서는 온톨로지를 이용하여 로봇 주변의 상황에 따른 국소 영역에서의 로봇의 행동을 계획하며, '행동' 단계에서는 온톨로지를 통해 로봇 구동부의 제어가 가능하도록 한다. 그리고 차동구동형 로봇을 제작하고, 실제 환경에서의 실험을 통해 그 타당성을 검증한다.

  • High-speed trains have been developed widely in European countries and Japan in order to transport large quantity of people and commodities in short time. Additionally, a high speed train is one of the most desirable and environmentally friendly transportation methods. When a high speed train enters a tunnel, aerodynamic resistance is generated suddenly. This resistance causes micro pressure wave and discomfort to passengers. Due to this aerodynamic pressure against the train, a large amount of traction is required for the operation of a train in a tunnel. Therefore, it is essential to incorporate a pressure relief system in a tunnel in order to reduce aerodynamic resistance caused by a high-speed train. A pressure relief duct and a vertical shaft are representative measures in a tunnel. This study represents the effect of pressure relief ducts in order to alleviate positive and negative normal pressures acting on a train. One-dimensional numerical simulations were carried out in order to estimate the effect of pressure relief systems.

Assessment of Running Speed of Large Logging Trucks on the Forest Road Structure (임도 구조에 따른 대형 목재운송차량의 주행속도 분석)

  • This study analyzed the running speed of logging trucks (25 tons), depending on the structural state of forest roads, on four main forest roads in the national forest management offices in Chuncheon and Hongcheon for trafficability. The speeds for the curved and straight sections were 7.6 km/h and 8.7 km/h, respectively, which were less than the designed speed (20 km/h). Thus, it would be necessary to improve the forest road's structure to fulfill minimum running speed. No significant difference was observed in the running speed by the longitudinal gradient up to 13%, while it was increased at more than 100 m by the distance in the straight section. By the facility's location in the curved section, the running speed was 6.2%-9.3% lower in a ridge than a valley. The running speed was lowest at the internal angles of <90° and at the curved radius of <15 m, respectively. When this radius was less than 15 m, the substandard sections for widening amounts were more than 50%; thus, sufficient widening was not achieved.

Red Light Violations Analysis Using Statistical Methods - in case of Chungbuk 4-Legged Signalized Intersections - (통계적기법을 이용한 신호위반 분석(충청북도 4지 신호교차로를 중심으로))

  • This case study investigated red light violations at CBD, suburban and rural signalized intersections in chungbuk. The goal of this study is to understanding the collection between red light violations and various driver, vehicles and environmental factors. This study uses descriptive statistics analysis and logistics analysis with SPSS 12.0 software. The major results of this study are as follows. First, red light violations occurred at rural and CBD more than suburban area. Second, About 81.1% of the violators were traveling at or below the posted speed limit. Moreover, 77.3% of the violations occurred within 2 seconds after the on set of red light. Finally, the logistic regression model, which is statistically significant(chisquare=0.000, McFadde=0.265)was developed, and includes the local type(CBD/suburban/rural), violators' gender, season, vehicle type, time of day, vehicle speed as the independent variables. In this study did not find significant relationship between red light violators' age and their driving behavior approaching signalized intersections.

Analysis of Visual Distortion and Suggestion of Design Criteria at Curve Sections (곡선부 시각왜곡현상 분석 및 설계기법 제시)

  • Driver's perceived curve radius is different from actual curve radius at curve sections. This is called visual distortion. It has effect on operation speed according to driver's perception and finally bad effect on safety at curve sections. At present, however, there is no research on quantitatively analysis of visual distortion and no criteria for curve section design considering the visual distortion. Therefore, this study focus on finding degree of visual distortion and suggesting design criteria by visual distortion analysis. The process of this study is as below; First, a calculaiton model of perceived curve radius was developed by survey using computer simulation. In this model, a dependent variable is perceived curve radius and an independent variable is geometric factors. Second, degree of visual distortion was calculated from ratio of perceived curve radius to actual curve radius. Finally, design criteria were suggested through influencing factor analysis of visual distortion at curve sections.
