The perception of subjective speed sense by drivers' age on types of median (중앙분리대 형태에 따른 운전자 연령별 주관적 속도감 지각)

  • This study focused on the effects of median type on drivers' subjective sense of speed and the changes in this sense by driver age. Participants were 61 drivers: 20 young (aged 20-39 years), 19 middle-aged (40-59 years), and 22 older drivers (60+ years). The participants watched each of two driving scenarios, showing either a guardrail-equipped or a concrete median. The participants were asked to push a button when they perceived speeds of 60 km/h, 80 km/h, or 100 km/h. All drivers perceived higher speeds in the guardrail condition than in the concrete condition. Perceived speeds increased with driver age in both guardrail and concrete conditions. These results mean median type affects drivers' subjective sense of speed even as driver age increases, and that drivers' subjective sense of speed tends to increase with age.

  • This paper discusses an autonomous navigation system for urban environments. For the localization of the robot, EKF (Extended Kalman Filter) algorithm is used with odometry, angle sensor, and DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System) measurement. Especially in an urban environment, DGPS is often blocked by buildings and trees and the resulting inaccurate positioning prevents the robot from safe and reliable navigation. In addition to the global information from DGPS, the local information of the curb on the roadway is used to track a route when the global DGPS information is inaccurate. For this purpose, curb detection algorithm is developed and implemented in the developed navigation algorithm. Four different types of navigation strategies are developed and they are switched to adapt to different localization conditions according to the availability of DGPS and the existence of the curbs on the roadway. The experimental results show that the designed switching strategy improves the navigation performance adapting to the environment conditions.

  • As a new suspension is being designed, the designer should consider that the vehicle has a good ride and handling performance. It is not easy for a yound desigineer to decide the design parameters. In this study, the design process of a suspension system is described. the method of optimized design to achieve the target of vehicle performance from the initial layout to detailed design stage is also described.   • 승차감이나 안전에 관련된 부분 중 하나인 자동차 시트는 차량 주행시 전달되는 충격이나 진동을 적절하게 흡수하여 승객에게 안락성을 제공한다. 또한 이러한 여건을 만족시키면서 승객의 안전을 보장하는 충분한 강성과 강도를 가져야 한다. 자동차 시트는 2가지의 모델로 설계를 하고 구조 해석을 하였다. 그 결과, 시트 백프레임의 모델 (b)가 (a)보다 적은 변형량과 피로 수명을 보였고. 모델의 중앙에 해당되는 허리부분에서 가장 많은 변형량과 파손 가능성을 보였다. 고유진동수를 적용한 진동해석에서, 모델(a)의 경우는 모델의 바깥쪽에서 안쪽으로 변형이 되었고, 모델(b)의 경우는 모델의 안쪽에서 바깥쪽으로 변형이 되었다. 전반적으로 모든 면에서 모델(b)가 (a)보다 구조적으로 안전하다고 사료된다.

Multiple Target Tracking and Forward Velocity Control for Collision Avoidance of Autonomous Mobile Robot (실외 자율주행 로봇을 위한 다수의 동적 장애물 탐지 및 선속도 기반 장애물 회피기법 개발)

  • In this paper, we used a laser range finder (LRF) to detect both the static and dynamic obstacles for the safe navigation of a mobile robot. LRF sensor measurements containing the information of obstacle's geometry are first processed to extract the characteristic points of the obstacle in the sensor field of view. Then the dynamic states of the characteristic points are approximated using kinematic model, which are tracked by associating the measurements with Probability Data Association Filter. Finally, the collision avoidance algorithm is developed by using fuzzy decision making algorithm depending on the states of the obstacles tracked by the proposed obstacle tracking algorithm. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated through experiments with the experimental mobile robot.

  • 일반적으로 21세기에는 로봇이 기존의 인간이 가지고 있던 작업영역을 대처 할 거라고 말해지고 있으며 가까운 미래에 재난 현장, 인명구조, 지뢰제거, 정찰과 같은 위험작업 영역에 대해서 먼저 기존 인력을 대처할 수 있는 이러한 로봇의 필요성이 두각 되고 있다. 그러나 이러한 위험 작업 현장에서 운영이 가능한 로봇이 만들어지기 위해서는 일차적으로 일반적인 위험작업 지역인 계단과 같은 비 평탄 지형에 대한 이동 성능을 보장할 수 있는 로봇 이동 기술의 개발이 필요하다 일반적으로 이동형 로봇은 Wheel Type, Track Type 그리고 Walking Type으로 구분이 된다. 하지만 비평탄 지역에서 Wheel Type은 Track Type에 비해서 상대적인 주행성능이 떨어진다고 일반적으로 말해지고 있으며 또한 Walking Type은 제어방식이 복잡하고 제어부의 크기가 커서 앞의 두 방식에 비해 절대적으로 이동속도가 느리다는 단점을 가지고 있다.   • Abnormal cab vibrations in the Y direction in commercial vehicles during driving(70~90kph) are not common vibrations that happen to vehicles during driving and can be an obstacle to normal driving. This study conducted Operation Deflection Shape(ODS) testing to identify the causes of those abnormal cab vibrations and find solutions for them and also a sine sweep test to find resonance and frequency in the cab suspension system and set directions for improvement. The study also altered the shape of the bush inner part for changes to the rigidity features of the cab bush in the Y direction and revised the design with optimal rigidity in the Y direction, thus improving abnormal cab vibrations in the Y direction during driving.

  • AGT system is a kind of light railway train. AGT system use of concrete track and rubber tire, so it can be reduce the noise and vibration, compare to the normal train system. And, the dynamic responses of normal bridge are influenced by the dynamic characteristics of bridge, the speed of vehicle and the surface roughness of railway. But the AGT system bridge is influenced not only the above facts but also the guiderail unevenness, because, AGT vehicle steered by guiderail. So, in this study, optimized service condition is suggested for the design and operation of AGT system, by the means of experimental study. The experiments are executed for PSC bridge with length of 30m, at the AGT test line in Kyongsan. The test results are compared and investigated according to the prominence. In the test result, the guiderail prominence influenced on the dynamic response of bridge. It shows a increase as compared with no guiderail prominence in the dynamic response value acceleration, displacement, stain.

  • 장대레일 궤도의 부동구간에서 발생되는 과도한 축력은 혹서기 궤도의 좌굴을 유발시켜 주행하는 열차의 안정성을 위협할 수 있다. 궤도 제원을 제외한 압축응력과 관련된 레일온도 인자, 궤도 강성과 관련된 도상저항력, 궤도의 초기결함인 궤도틀림과 같은 인자들은 기후조건, 궤도 운영조건, 유지관리조건 등에 의해 임의적으로 변동되는 불확실성이 높은 궤도 매개변수이다. 그러므로 장대레일 궤도의 좌굴은 불확실성이 높은 현상임을 알 수 있다. 따라서 궤도 매개변수들의 불확실성 및 임의성을 합리적으로 고려하기 위해서는 확률론적 접근방법의 적용이 필수적이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 본 연구진에 의해 개발된 장대레일 궤도의 좌굴확률 평가시스템을 이용하여 장대레일 축력을 산정하기 위한 필수요소인 중립온도의 확률분포 특성에 따른 좌굴 안정성을 분석하였다.

  • Neural network based AI computing is a promising technology that reflects the recognition and decision operation of human beings. Early AI computing processors were composed of GPUs and CPUs; however, the dramatic increment of a floating point operation requires an energy efficient AI processor with a highly parallelized architecture. In this paper, we analyze the trends in processor architectures for AI computing. Some architectures are still composed using GPUs. However, they reduce the size of each processing unit by allowing a half precision operation, and raise the processing unit density. Other architectures concentrate on matrix multiplication, and require the construction of dedicated hardware for a fast vector operation. Finally, we propose our own inAB processor architecture and introduce domestic cutting-edge processor design capabilities.
