IPv6 Address Autoconfiguration for AODV in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (이동 애드혹 네트워크 환경에서 AODV를 위한 IPv6 주소 자동 설정)

  • An advantage of the mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is that mobile nodes can self-organize the network topology without the help of network infrastructure. However, for the perfect self-organization of the MANET, each mobile node needs to self-configure its address. Even though a mobile node configures a unique address during the booting time, its address may conflict with nodes in other MANETs since MANETs containing the same address can be merged. The address autoconfiguration protocol implemented in this work consists of the strong DAD (Duplicate Address Detection) and the weak DAD. A unique address of a node is assigned by the strong DAD during the booting time and the weak DAD is used to detect address conflict and resolve address conflict during the ad hoc routing. In this work, we have implemented address autoconfiguration in the IPv6-based MANET using AODV as the routing protocol. We describe how the IPv6 address autoconfiguration is implemented and verify our implementation by showing the test scenarios on our testbed.

An Analysis of the Media's Report on the Adoption of the Address of Things using Topic Modeling and Network Analysis (토픽 모델링과 네트워크 분석을 활용한 사물주소 도입에 대한 언론보도 분석)

  • This study analyzed media reports on the Address of Things, which are being introduced through the amendment of related law and pilot projects. The titles and its texts in the media's reports were collected by searching for 'Address of Things' on the Naver News Platform. Then, we analyzed the corpus using by topic modeling and network analysis. As a result, there were four topics: 'Promotion of the address of things system', Proof of assigning Address of Things', 'Improvement of usage of the Roadname Address Systems', and 'Education and public relation for the address activation'. It was confirmed that the topic 'Proof of assigning Address of Things' was the main agenda. We presented some implication by comparing the results with the 「3rd Basic Plan for Address Policy (2018-2022)」 of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security.

Comparison between the Road-based and the Parcel-based Address Coordinates for Urban Air Pollution Estimation - A Case Study of Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, Korea - (도심대기오염추정을 위한 도로명주소좌표와 지번주소좌표의 비교 - 서울 영등포 지역의 사례연구 -)

  • The address system in Korea was changed to the road-based system in 2014, but the current address coordinates are still largely based on the old, parcel-based system. Compared to the parcel-based address system that defines the center of a parcel as its coordinates, the road-based system locates the coordinates at a certain distance away from the road on which the parcel fronts. The difference in coordinates between these two systems is small, but it can be crucial for micro-level modelling. In order to assess the impact of the discrepancy between the two address systems, this study measured the degree of air pollution exposure at two different locations, the road-based address coordinates and the parcel-based address coordinates, for each of 252 buildings in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. The air pollution values were estimated using a microscopic air pollution dispersion model, CALINE4, and t-tests and F-tests were conducted to evaluate statistical significance on the observed difference. The results showed a considerable difference in the level of air pollution exposure between the two address systems, suggesting that the on-going use of the parcel-based address coordinates could cause potentially significant errors in micro-level analysis.

  • MANET(mobile ad hoc network) cn be one of the access networks of BcN(broadband convergence network), and an user node requires address auto-configuration protocol for mu14i-hop environment. Some address auto-configuration protocols are proposed for independent MANET, but they don't consider BcN-accessable MANET environment. In this paper, new address auto-configuration protocol for wireless nodes is proposed. With this proposal, they ran configure their global addresses automatically in hybrid MANETs as BcN access networks. The autoconfiguration protocol modifies IPv6 NDP(neighbor discovery protocol) messages to deliver global prefix information to all wireless nodes, and avoids message boradcasting to minimize network overhead.

  • In order that routers forward a packet to its destination, they perform IP address lookup which determines the next hop according to the packet's destination address. In designing high speed routers, IP address lookup is an important issue. In order to design high speed routers, this paper proposes a parallel IP lookup scheme which consists of several IP lookup engines without any modification of already fabricated indirect IP lookup chipsets. Also, we propose a simple rule for partitioning IP prefix entries In an overall forwarding table among several IP lookup engines. And we evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme in terms of the memory size required for storing lookup information and the number of memory accesses on constructing the forwarding table. With additional hardware logics, the proposed scheme can reduce about 30% of the required memory size and 80% of the memory access counts.

  • This study found that there are problems in sending mails at the postal service reception desks and proposes a system which transmits address information to POSNET(the terminals at post office reception) without the use of an additional security system based on address information which is stored in the terminals of mobile phones. The system proposed transforms the information of users into two-dimensional barcode(QR code) of the POSNET and a number of address information is texturized and transmitted to the POSNET with the use of how to read QR code and LAN such as bluetooth. When the system proposed is connected to the postal reception system, it can create and output mail addresses for mobile computers automatically and contribute to better performance for the post office reception clerks and better economic results.

  • DHCP는 인터넷에서 호스트의 설정 정보를 전달하는데 주로 이용되고 있는데, 내부자 위험에 취약하고 그룹별로 동적인 주소 할당이 어렵다는 문제점을 안고 있다. 장기적으로는, 보안 위협을 해소하기 위해 제안된 DHCP 메시지 인증을 이용하면, 이러한 문제점들을 해결할 수 있지만, DHCP 서버와 상대적으로 다수인 DHCP 클라이언트 양측의 기능 확장을 요구하므로 단시간내의 실제 적용이 불가능하다. 본 논문에서는 DHCP 서버만의 기능 확장과 DHCP 서버 감시자를 통해 그룹별 동적 주소 할당과 내부자 보안 위협을 해소하는 방법을 제시한다.

  • In this paper, I will describe the trends of multicast address allocation mechanism. IP Multicast efficiently supports this type of transmission by enabling sources to send a single copy of a message to multiple recipients who explicitly want to receive the information. Generally, MAAs server or MADCAP servers are used to allocate multicast addresses. As the need of home networking and autoconfiguring network mechanism has been increased, not only automatic host IP configuration but also automatic multicast address generation mechanism was demanded. in this paper, I will explain the automatic multicast address mechanism in a host. management techniques and the trends of multicast address generation and allocation mechanism that is bong now discussed In IETF.

  • 현재의 인터넷은 IPv4를 기반으로 하며, CIDR(Classless InterDomain Routing)을 이용하여 IP의 고갈을 막으려고 노력하고 있다. 그러나, 이는 근본적인 대책이 아니다. 그 때문에 IP는 점차 고갈되어 미래에는 IPv6로 옮겨갈 것이다. 이렇게 IPv6로 발전함에 따라 IP 주소는 매우 늘어날 수 있으나, 출발지 주소와 목적지 주소의 헤더가 커짐에 따라 헤더의 IP 주소를 모두 읽어보는 데에 많은 비용(cost)이 들게 된다. 따라서, 각각의 ISP(Internet Service Provider)들은 MPLS(Multiprotocol Label Switching)를 사용하여 이 문제를 해결하려 노력할 수 있다. 또한, MPLS는 기존의 IP 주소를 이용한 라우팅은 경로를 찾기 위해 필요이상으로 많은 정보를 요구한다고 보고, 레이블 개념을 도입하여 스위칭해주는 역할을 하기 때문에 라우팅을 위해 IPv6로 인하여 더욱 길어진 IP 주소를 요구하지 않고 단지 레이블을 붙임으로 속도를 향상시킬 수 있다. 이러한 환경에서의 이동 IP는 COA를 얻게되면 레이블을 붙여서 목적지까지 전달되게 되고, 이렇게 전달되는 이동 IP에서 COA와 레이블을 합쳐서 하나로 보내는 방식으로 이동 IP의 효율을 높일 수 있다.
