The both groups received the rehabilitation therapy during for 4 weeks. The experimental group performed Tabata exercise based on health care application, supervised under caregivers, during 30 min/day. The control group performed self-exercise supervised under caregivers, during 30 min/day. Both groups exercised for 4 weeks, 3 times a week, 30 min/day. Tabata exercise was trained by an physical and occupational therapists. The outcome measures were the BBS(: Berg Balance Scale), TUG(: Timed Up and Go, K-MBI(: Korean Modified Barthel Index). In results, the experimental groups showed a significant improvements after intervention in all assessments(p<.05), The control groups showed a significant improvements after intervention in BBS(p<.05) The experimental group showed a greater significant improvements than control group in TUG, BBS, K-MBI(p<.05). • Rural life improvement has remained a key policy concern for the governments of most developing countries. However, developing countries mostly focused on agricultural productivity and technology development while implementing rural development policies. This paper was aimed at constructing the trends and identify the major tasks implemented through the rural life improvement programs in Korea and describing rural development efforts in Ethiopia after the Second World War. The data was generated through an intensive review of literature and focus group interview in Korea. The two countries in general and their rural areas in particular, were poor and almost similar initially. While the condition of rural Korea rapidly transformed since 1960s, rural Ethiopia has not yet experienced major improvement. Although different rural development efforts have been made in Ethiopia, erratic policies implemented by the different political regimes across time emerge to be one of the main factors behind the poor performance of the of the rural sector. Further, while the Korean government's rural development policy gave equal emphasis to improvement of agricultural production base as well as rural life improvement right from its inception, the Ethiopian rural development policy has rather neglected the rural life improvement aspect. Diversification of rural economy was also another priority area in Korea's rural development policy through agro-processing, rural tourism, and non-farm employment opportunities whereas this has not been the case in Ethiopia's rural development policy. We suggest some lessons that Ethiopia might adapt for its rural life improvement endeavors.

  • In this study, the positive thinking, academic self-efficacy, and school adjustment of freshman dental hygiene students were identified. The correlation between each variable was identified and the influencing factors were investigated. Data collection was conducted from October 1 to October 21, 2019 on 213 freshman dental hygiene students in Gyeonggi-do, Chungcheong-do, Jeolla-do, and Gyeongsang-do regions. According to the study, the significant influence of freshman dental hygiene students' school adjustment was in the order of academic self-efficacy, positive thinking, and career program experience, and the most influential factors were academic self-efficacy, and the regression model explained was 47.7%. Since this study has been investigated and conducted on some freshman dental hygiene students, there is a limit to generalizing the results, subsequent studies will require continuous study of various variables for positive thinking and academic self-efficiency to school adjustment. However, based on this study, it is meaningful that it can be used as data to supplement the prior study related to school adjustment, and by presenting factors related to the school adjustment of freshman dental hygiene students, it is thought that it became basic data that confirmed the necessity of developing the school adjustment program.

Secondly, it indicated that adolescents' satisfaction with school life was a factor that had a positive impact on self-acceptance, environmental control, and the goal of life among the sub-factors of psychological well-being. It turned out that peer relationships could have a positive impact on positive interpersonal relationships, likewise school lessons and peer relationships could have a positive impact on autonomy. According to the results of analysis, factors related to strengths of family life and satisfaction with school life could affect adolescent psychological well-being. Therefore, these findings can be applied to establishing major youth policy.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a computerized cognitive training(CCT) on cognitive, depression, life satisfaction and activity of daily living in older adults with mild dementia. The participants were 32 older adults diagnosed with mild dementia who reside in nursing hospital and were randomly divided into an 16 for an experimental group and 16 for a control group. A CCT was performed for a day/week for 8 weeks in an experimental group. The CoTras-G was used for CCT. The MMSE-K, SGDS-K, ELS and BI were administered to the experimental group and the control group in the same way in order to examine the effects of CCT. The difference of the effects between before and after a CCT conduction were identified by paired t-test. Moreover, the Mann-Whitney U-test was conducted to identify differences in variances between groups. Only participants in the experimental group reported significant improvements in cognitive function, depression, life satisfaction and activity of daily living when compared to those in the control group after CCT. There was a significant difference in cognitive function, depression, life satisfaction and activity of daily living between the experimental group and the control group after CCT. These findings suggest that the CCT can be used as effective cognitive training program to improve cognitive function, depression, life satisfaction and activity of daily living in older adults with mild dementia.

  • This study aimed to investigate the effect of virtual reality training focus on ADL on upper extremity function and activities of daily living in stroke patients. 20 patients with chronic stroke were included in this study. The participants were divided into the experimental (n=10) or control (n=10) groups. Both groups received conventional rehabilitation therapy for 30 min a day, 5 times per week for 4 weeks. The experimental group also performed virtual reality training focus on ADL for 30 min a day, and the control group performed general virtual reality training for 30 min a day. The Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) and Functional Independence Measure (FIM) scores were evaluated before and after the intervention, and both groups showed significant improvement (p<.05). Compared to the control group, the experimental group showed significant improvement in the FMA wrist score and the FIM total, self-care, and sphincter control scores (p<.05). These findings suggest that virtual reality training focus on ADL may have a positive effect on wrist function and overall ADLs compared to that using general virtual reality training in stroke patients.
