This research uses the panel survey to explore ageing society in 2012 made by Korean Labor Institute, which studied 1,756(born in 1955~1961). SPSS 21.0 Package was applied to analyze the date and multi-regression analysis was conducted. As a result, first, the findings show that as the consumption level increases, the life satisfaction of the baby-boom generation goes up. Second, the findings reveal that subjective expectation partially mediates the influences of consumption level on the life satisfaction of baby-boom generation. This study further discusses the theoretical and political implication of the direction properties on baby-boomer based upon the results of the study.

  • This study attempted to understand the effect of subjective class consciousness on the quality of life of female elderly people and to verify the multi-mediated effect of expectation of living standards and depression. To this end, an analysis was conducted using the SPSS Process Macro for 8,070 female elderly people aged 55 or older in the data of the "2018 Aging Research Panel Survey 7" of the Korea Employment Information Service. As a result of the analysis, first, it was found that the higher the subjective class consciousness of the elderly women, the higher the quality of life. Second, the higher the subjective class consciousness of the elderly women, the higher the expectation of living standards and the lower the depression. Third, in the relationship between the subjective class consciousness and quality of life of female elderly, when expectations and depression of living standards were simultaneously put into the regression equation, both variables were found to have significant mediating effects. Based on these research results, practical and policy implications for improving the quality of life of the elderly women were discussed together.

  • In this study, using KLoSA data, it was verified whether subjective expectations and depression had a multi-mediated effect on life satisfaction of the elderly with dementia and mild cognitive impairment. As a result of the analysis, first, it was analyzed that the higher the IADL of the elderly with dementia and mild cognitive impairment, the lower the subjective expectation, the higher the depression, and the lower the life satisfaction. Second, it was analyzed that as the subjective expectations of the elderly with dementia and mild cognitive impairment increased, depression decreased and life satisfaction increased. Third, it was analyzed that IADL in the elderly with dementia and mild cognitive impairment not only directly affects life satisfaction, but also indirectly affects life satisfaction through subjective expectations and depression, so it has a multi-mediated effect. Therefore, it is necessary to expand subjective expectations by expanding service providers that can support daily life restrictions for the elderly with dementia and mild cognitive impairment, providing regular programs by experts to reduce depression, and establishing new national pension benefits for dependents.

  • Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing(KLoSA)', launched in 2006, has developed a research network with 'Health and Retirement Study(HRS, US),' Studies on Health and Retirement in Europe(SHARE, EU),' and 'English Longitudinal Study of Ageing(ELSA, UK)'and tried to construct a mega data library. The KLoSA team has designed their research with focusing on the following three points, in order to use KLoSA for international comparative studies. First, KLoSA shares the key research areas such as family structure, health, employment, income, asset, subjective expectations with the comparable studies. Second, KLoSA team has developed the instrument to reflect the Korean culture and institutions. • The purpose of this study is to analyze the influential factors on the change in life satisfaction of elderly households. In this study, single and couple elderly households were defined as elderly households and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th data of the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Ageing (KLoSA) provided by the Korea Employment Information Service (KEIS) were used. And 677 respondents aged 65 and over who had replied to all 3 sessions were included in the final subjects. multinomial logistic regression analysis was conducted to examine the influential factors on life satisfaction by the type of elderly households according to consumption pattern and the result showed that there were common influential factors such as house owning status and subjective health status and the factors that influence specific types such as expectancy of standard of living. In addition, in the longitudinal analysis of life satisfaction of elderly households, individual satisfaction level was confirmed to reduce with time and the factors that influence the longitudinal change in the level of life satisfaction of elderly households was analyzed through the conditional model of a latent growth model. The analysis results showed that household type, house owning status, and subjective health status influenced the initial value of life satisfaction of elderly households while household type and expectancy of living standard influenced the change rate of life satisfaction of elderly households. Based on the results of this study, the followings are suggested. There is a need to improve the life satisfaction of old age by increasing the opportunity for self-realization of elderly households and also policy approach should be made selectively taking various types into consideration.
