  • 본 논문은 이동 통신 및 IEEE 802.lla WLAN에서 사용하고 있는 컨벌루셔널 부호의 복호기인 비터비 복호기의 SMU(Survivor Metric Unit)의 최적 메모리 제어에 관한 연구이다. 비터비 복호기기 구조는 크게 BMU, ACSU, SMU부로 구성된다. 이때 SMU부는 최적의 경로를 역추적 하여 최종 복호 데이터를 출력해 주는 블록으로, 역추적 길이에 따라 메모리 사용 양과 복호 성능이 좌우된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 최적 메모리 제어 알고리즘을 제안함으로써 복호 속도의 향상과 메모리 사용 양을 줄이는 방법을 제안한다. 제안 알고리즘의 성능을 검증하기 위해 기존의 비터비 복호기와 역추적 길이에 따른 비터비 복호기의 성능을 실험을 통해 분석함으로써 제안 방법의 객관적인 성능을 분석한다.

Center-based Shared Route Decision Algorithms for Multicasting Services (멀티캐스트 서비스를 위한 센터기반 공유형 경로 지정 방법)

  • Recently, with the IPTV services, e-learning, real-time broadcasting and e-contents, many application services need the multicasting routing protocol. In this paper, the performance of the algorithm to assign the rendezvous router (RP: rendezvous point) in the center-based multicasting mesh network is analyzed. The estimated distance to select RP in the candidate nodes is calculated, and the node minimizing the distance is selected as the optimal RP. We estimate the distance by using the maximum distance, average distance, and mean of the maximum and average distance between the RP and members. The performance of the algorithm is compared with the optimal algorithm of all enumeration. With the assumptions of mesh network and randomly positioned for sources and members, the simulations for different parameters are studied. From the simulation results, the performance deviation between the algorithm with minimum cost and optimal method is evaluated as 6.2% average.

Bio-inspired Node Selection and Multi-channel Transmission Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서망에서 생체시스템 기반의 전송노드 선택 및 다중 채널 전송 알고리즘)

  • WireWireless sensor networks(WSNs) are generally comprised of densely deployed sensor nodes, which causes highly redundant sensor data transmission and energy waste. Many studies have focused on energy saving in WSNs. However, delay problem also should be taken into consideration for mission-critical applications. In this paper, we propose a BISA (Bio-Inspired Scheduling Algorithm) to reduce the energy consumption and delay for WSNs inspired by biological systems. BISA investigates energy-efficient routing path and minimizes the energy consumption and delay using multi-channel for data transmission. Through simulations, we observe that the BISA archives energy efficiency and delay guarantees.

A study on frequency gain control of frequency shift keying signals using the preamble error rate for underwater acoustic communications (수중 음향 통신에서 주파수 편이 변조 신호의 프리엠블 오류율을 이용한 주파수 이득 조절 연구)

  • The main characteristics of the underwater acoustic channel have varying multipath and fast fading. Especially, Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) signals with multiple frequency bands caused loss of information bits allocated on the specific frequencies due to selective fading phenomenon. Therefore, this paper proposes frequency gain control algorithm based on preamble error rates. The proposed algorithm estimates optimal gain value in the range of preamble error rate with less than 10 % for specific faded frequency. By employing turbo equalized FSK signals with rate of 1/3, the experiment was conducted on a lake in Munkyeong city with distance of 300 m to 500 m. The result confirms that packets are decoded successfully by applying proposed algorithm as increasing number of iterations.

  • The major interest of general mobile robot is making a route and following a maked route. But, In the case of robot that is in need of movement of partial high speed, the condition of dynamic limitation is exist, and in these conditions, it demands controlling against movements we want. In this paper, in respect of the following a route at the situation that don't have the environmental map, that is, unknown environments, to prevent the slide of moving robot or the overturn that can happen for it moves fast, we organize the dynamic condition of limitation using the fuzzy logic, and we obtain more safe and fast route tracing ability by changing the standard velocity. Especially, by modeling the line tracing mobile robot, we design the tracing controller against a realtime changing target, and using the fuzzy optimized velocity limitation controller, we confirm that our robot shows its stable tracing ability by limiting its velocity intelligently against the continuously changing line.

  • In order to prevent collision accidents of ships, which has been increasing recently, research on artificial intelligence-based autonomously operated ships (Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship, MASS) is underway. However, most of the studies related to autonomous ships mainly target medium-to-large ships due to the size and cost of the autonomous navigation system, and the sensors used here have a problem in that it is difficult to mount them on small ships. Therefore, this paper provides a path tracking system equipped with GPS and IMU sensors for autonomous operation of small ships. GPS and IMU sensors are utilized to determine the exact position of the vessel, which allows the proposed system to manually control the small vessel model to create a path and then when the small vessel travels the same path. Use the Pure Pursuit algorithm to follow the path. As a result, In this research, it is expected that a lightweight and low-cost sensor can be used to develop an autonomous operation system for small ships at low cost.

  • For playing a multimedia presentation in a Internet, the case that the presentation QoS(Quality of Services) at a destination nay be different from the QoS of multimedia data at the source occurs frequently. In this case, the process of trancoding the multimedia data at the source Into the multimedia data satisfying the QoS at the destination should be requited. In addition, even the presentation description having the homogeneous QoS at both sides may have different transcoding paths due to the limitation of display terminals or network bandwidth. That is, for a multimedia description, it is required to regenerate a proper transcoding path whenever the displaying terminals or the network environment gets decided. And the delay time required to go through the transcoding path may affect the playability of the give presentation. Therefore it should be checked whether the presentation requiring a transcoding process is able to be played in a real time. In this paper, the algorithm for generating all the possible transcoding paths for a given multimedia description under a fixed set of transcoders and the network environment is proposed. The algorithm adopts the concept of QoS transition diagram to Prevent from a trancoding Path being cycled by the repetition of a cyclic Path which generates the same QoS of multimedia data as its input QoS. By eliminating all the cyclic Paths, the algorithm can guarantee the termination of the process. And for the playability check, a method of computing the transcoding time and the delay lime between logical data units are proposed.Finally all the proposed methods were implemented in the stream engine, called TransCore and the presentation-authoring tool, called VIP, we had developed. And the test results with sample scenarios were presented at the last.

  • User travel behavior is based on the existence of complete traffic information in deterministic user optimal principle by Wardrop(1952). According to deterministic user optimal principle, users choose the optimal route from origin to destination and they change their routes arbitrarily in order to minimize travel cost. In this principle, users only consider travel time as a factor to take their routes. However, user behavior is not determined by only travel time in actuality. Namely, the models that reflect only travel time as a route choice factor could give irrational travel behavior results. Therefore, the model is necessary that considers various factors including travel time, transportation networks structure and traffic information. In this research, more realistic deterministic optimal traffic assignment model is proposed in the way of route recognizance behavior. This model assumes that when users decide their routes, they consider many factors such as travel time, road condition and traffic information. In addition, route recognizance attributes is reflected in this suggested model by forward searching method and backward searching method with numerical formulas and algorithms.

Improvement of Position Estimation Based on the Multisensor Fusion in Underwater Unmanned Vehicles (다중센서 융합 기반 무인잠수정 위치추정 개선)

  • In this paper, we propose the position estimation algorithm based on the multisensor fusion using equalization of state variables and feedback structure. First, the state variables measured from INS of main sensor with large error and DVL of assistance sensor with small error are measured before prediction phase. Next, the equalized state variables are entered to each filter and fused the enhanced state variables for prediction and update phases. Finally, the fused state variables are returned to the main sensor for improving the position estimation of UUV. For evaluation, we create the moving course of UUV by simulation and confirm the performance of position estimation by applying the proposed algorithm. The evaluation results show that the proposed algorithm is the best for position estimation and also possible for robust position estimation at the change period of moving courses.

자율 주행 자동차 관련 SW기술 동향

  • 자율 주행(스마트) 자동차는 첨단 IT기술을 이용하여 사람의 개입을 줄여서 운행하는 자동차를 말한다. 자율 주행(스마트) 자동차는 자율적으로 차량 주변 환경 및 상황을 판단하여 정해진 목적지까지 안전하게 이동하는 차량을 의미한다. 자율 주행(스마트) 자동차는 주행 안전성과 운전자의 편의성을 향상시키기 위한 연구 형태로 주로 이루어지고 있다. 자율 주행(스마트) 자동차 기술은 자율 주행의 정도를 적용하여 단계별로 개발이 진행될 것으로 보인다. 자율 주행 자동차 기술은 인간 세상에 또 다른 변혁을 몰고 오고 있다. 자율 주행 자동차와 관련한 기술은 첨단 IT기술을 기계 자동차에 접목하는 것인데, 적용하는 IT 기술은 HW, SW기술로 나눌 수 있다. IT HW 기술로는 환경 인식에 필요한 HW, 위치 인식 HW, 판단/제어를 위한 여러가지 센서 HW 등이 있다. IT SW 기술로는 IT HW를 구동하기 위한 실시간 OS, IT HW 전장장치를 구동할 수 있는 여러가지 SW 관련 기술, 자율 주행을 위한 경로 알고리즘 등이 있다. 본 고에서는 자율 주행 자동차에 적용되는 IT SW 기술 중심으로 살펴본다.
