  • In general the stability of soil nail-slope system, the shear resistance is neglected because the tensile resistance of nail acts mainly for slope stabilization. This is because that deformed steel is generally used for nail and it does ductile behavior. In other side when the steel pipe with high rigidity is used for nail, the shear resistance at failure surface work more than deformed steel. In order to analyze effects of shear resistance at the soil nail-slope system with high steel piped nail, a series of numerical analyses were performed. Also numerical analyses at 3 conditions - 5 nailed, 7 nailed, 9 nailed at the same slope were perfomed for investigating the trend of shear resistance effect. From these 3D numerical analyses, it was found that the maximum shear resistances at each nails were larger in case of steel piped nail and because of this, the factor of safety at the condition of the steel piped nail appears larger than that of deformed steel nail.

  • This study introduces a layered sectional analysis for a PSC girder with a vaiable cross section and curved tendons. To consider the shear equilibrium at a concrete layer with curved tendons, the shear stress distribution has been computed at each section. In addition, to improve the convergence to the solution, a system identification technique is newly adopted in the solution process for strain computation. To examine the feasibility of the proposed approach, a static load test has been conducted for a full scale PSC girder with variable cross section. The prediction shows a good agreement with experiment. It is seen that a uniform cross section has the same moment capacity with a variable cross section while the variable cross section has more shear capacity than the uniform cross section. It is also noted that the maximum displacement of a variable cross section is a little smaller than a uniform cross section.

  • The effects of various manufacturing conditions on the characteristics of metal particle tape using ultra-fine metal powder were investigated. As functions of kneading conditions and milling solid contents. coating thickness, orientation, calender and curing conditions. various properties of the tapes were studied. By the consideration of physical and eletromagnetic properties of the tapes, optimum process conditions were determined. As a result of above investigations, we concluded that manufacturing processes were very important factor in addition to dispersion behavior of particles for achieving maximum properties of the metal particle tape.

본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 개선하고자 새로룬 동적 스케쥴링 정책인 CAP(Counter-based Adaptive Priority)을 제안한다.

  • Some sections of concrete highway pavements have been viewed with great concern by highway officials and engineers due to the severe cracking and failure problems. This is mainly due to the traffic loads in addition to temperature variations between top and bottom of concrete slab, which cause the concrete slab to curl up and down depending on the thermal gradient, respectively. Subsequently, a major consideration was given to the derivation of stiffness matrix and equivalent nodal loads due to the uniform gravity load, temperature and shrinkage of concrete. And the structural behavior of concrete highway pavement due to the temperature variations throughout the nations has been emphasized.

  • Cyber-Physical system(CPS) is characterized by collaborating computational elements controlling physical entities. In CPS, human desire to acquire useful information and control devices anytime and anywhere automatically has increased the necessity of a high reliable system. However, the physical world where CPS is deployed has management complexity and maintenance cost of 'CPS', so that it is impossible to make reliable systems. Thus, this paper presents an 'Autonomic Control System towards High-reliable Cyber-Physical Systems' that comprise 8-steps including 'fault analysis', 'fault event analysis', 'fault modeling', 'fault state interpretation', 'fault strategy decision', 'fault detection', 'diagnosis&reasoning' and 'maneuver execution'. Through these activities, we fascinate to design and implement 'Autonomic control system' than before. As a proof of the approach, we used a ISR(Intelligent Service Robot) for case study. The experimental results show that it achieves to detect a fault event for autonomic control of 'CPS'.

  • Vibration modes obtained from a modal analysis can be better explained from a screw theoretical standpoint. A vibration mode can be geometrically interpreted as a pure rotation about the vibration center in a plane and as the twisting motion on a screw in a three dimensional space. This paper, presents the method to diagonalize a spatial stiffness matrix by use of a parallel axis congruence transformation. It also describes that the stiffness matrix diagonalized by a congruence transformation, can have the planes of symmetry depending on the location of the center of elasticity. For a plane of symmetry, any vibration mode can be expressed by the axis of vibration. Analytical solutions for the axis of vibration has been derived.

  • In this work, we develop on-line traffic prediction algorithm for real-time VBR traffic. There are a number of important issues: (i) The traffic prediction algorithm should exploit the stochastic characteristics of the underlying traffic and (ii) it should quickly adapt to structural changes in underlying traffic. GOP ARIMA model effectively addresses this issues and it is used as basis in our bandwidth prediction. Our prediction model deploy Kalman filter to incorporate the prediction error for the next prediction round. We examine the performance of GOP ARIMA based prediction with linear prediction with LMS and double exponential smoothing. The proposed prediction algorithm exhibits superior performam againt the rest.
