The Research on Reproduction of White Bamboo Paper in Ming-Qing Dynasty : Reproduction of Paper Woven Painting and Repair Paper (명-청시대의 백죽지(白竹紙) 재현 연구 : 지류문화재 보수지(補修紙)와 지직화(紙織畵) 재현을 중심으로)

  • Adding chemical additives in bamboo paper making procedure in China became common in last decades to increase productivity. Supply of repair paper for paper based artefacts became more and more difficult due to this tendency. Furthermore, stains and spots on paper which happen to appear during dying procedure make it difficult to use modern bamboo paper for repair treatment. In this research, lime fermentation and sun bleaching were main elements which affect texture and color of paper. Impurities, however, add some effects on paper quality. Less thouroughly washed raw materials after fermentation also affects texture of paper substrate. One most significant impurity is lime. Minimum residue of lime can make stains and spots after dying. Reproduction of white bamboo paper would become useful resource in various conservation treatments as a repair paper, and also, for reproduction of paper woven painting. However, further research to improve quality at early stage of paper making procedure in China required.

Zigbee Communication Based Wireless System for Measuring Lap Time on a Sprints (지그비 통신에 기반한 단거리 육상경기 기록측정 시스템)

  • This paper introduces a ZigBee network-based four-lane lap time measurement system that can be set up for short-distance races. The instructions "Ready-Set-Go" can be announced at the entry point node when the start button is pushed, and foot switches installed at the exit point node can be stepped on by the runner for lap time measurement of the race. The start and exit point nodes are connected to a ZigBee network to communicate time synchronization packets. The exit point node maintains synchronized local time within 10 ms at most. The system does not need expensive measurement equipment and provides lap time recording in a more convenient manner than conventional lap time measurement methods.

  • 이 논문은 지난 10년간(1986-1995)의 영국의 사건강보험(private health insurance) 시장의 전반적 추이를 관찰, 국민 의료 써비스(National Health Service)와의 관계 및 역할 변화를 고찰한 것이다. 가장 대표적인 PMI(private medical Insurance)와 PHI(permanent health Insurance), LTCI(long term care insurance)를 집중 연구하였으나 지면관계상 PMI를 중점적으로 다루고 PHI나 LTCI는 간략히 소개하였으며 관련도표는 모두 생략하였다. 영국의 사건강보험 시장은 1990년대 초의 정체기를 거친후 이제 서서히 가시적인 성장을 보이고 있다. 많은 영국 국민들은 정부가 기본적인 복지혜택 외에는 더 이상의 치료와 미래 간호를 보장할 수 없다는 사실을 이해하고 있으나 아직 대부분은 어떤 형태로든 NHS 외의 보호장치를 가지고 있지 못하다. 따라서 영국민의 사건강보험에 대한 관심은 점차 고조되고 있는 것이 현실이다. 사건강보험 시장의 성장은 몇가지 중요한 요소에 좌우된다 첫째, NHS의 capacity이다. 달리 말하면, NHS에 대한 정부의 각종 정책과 태도는 시장에 직접적인 영향을 미친다. 둘째, 경제성장은 상당히 결정적인 요소이다. 1990년대 초의 침체에서 이미 보았듯이 경기후퇴와 그와 동반된 높은 실업은 사적 의료써비스의 구매력을 감소시킨다. 셋째, 시장을 극대하려는 보험회사의 노력 또한 배놓을 수 없는 중요한 요소이다. 새로운 구매자를 위해서 또 시장에서의 치열한 경쟁에서 살아 남기 위해서 보험회사들은 폭넓은 범위의 상품을 개발하고 노동자들을 위한 값이 저렴한 상품들을 소개시켜 왔다. 비록 이런 종류의 저렴한 상품들은 커버하는 범위가 불충분하지만 총 인구의 보험 가입을 증가시킨다. 현 상황에서 PMI는 NHS에 대한 대안이 되지 못하고 단지 부분적 대용책일 뿐이다. 또한 시장을 극대시키려는 정부의 노력에도 불구하고 극소수의 사람들만이 PHI에 커버되고 있다. LTCI는 너무 비싸 지극히 부자들만이 구매할 수 있을 뿐, 평균임금 또는 그 이하의 사람들은 보험료를 감당할 수 없다. 한편. 영국의 사건강보험 시장에 대한 전망 또한 복합적이다. 즉 PMI 부문은 서서히 성장, PHI 부문은 계속적으로 꾸준히 증가, LTCI 부문은 제한적이기는 하나 발전하리라 보는 것이다. 따라서 미래시장을 예견하는 것은 그리 쉽지 아니하다. 결론적으로 영국국민은 질병, 또는 치료가 필요한 경우 전적으로 NHS에 의존하고 있으며 현재의 사건강보험은 다양한 질병위험에 대한 보호를 제공하기보다는 단순히 부가적인 혜택에 지나지 않을 뿐이다.

A Study on the Contact Seam Tracking Sensor by Using Strain Gauges (스트레인 게이지를 이용한 접촉식 용접선 추적 센서에 관한 연구)

  • There are many kinds of seam trackers in the industrial welding field. We are proposed the contact seam tracking sensor applying strain gauges kind of contact sensor that mostly used in welding part now. For this seam tracking experiment, we made the strain gauges sensor by ourselves and tested how well the sensor tracks the seam. The experiment device consist of strain gauges sensor, amplifier circuit of strain gauges signal, saw wave generator, MOSFET power diving circuit and X-Y slide by moved DC motor. The tracking areas are X-Y planes(left, right, up and down) and the change of strain gauge resistance causes to move DC motor that connected to X-Y slide. As a result of experiment, we confirmed that the strain gauges sensor tracks a seam well, and X-Y slide DC motor was controlled by PWM control.

The Characteristics Analysis of GIDL current due to the NBTI stress in High Speed p-MOSFET (고속용 p-MOSFET에서 NBTI 스트레스에 의한 GIDL 전류의 특성 분석)

  • It has analyzed that the device degradation by NBTI (Negative Bias Temperature Instability) stress induced the increase of gate-induced-drain-leakage(GIDL) current for p-MOSFETs. It is shown that the degradation magnitude, as well as its time, temperature, and field dependence, is govern by interface traps density at the silicon/oxide interface. from the relation between the variation of threshold voltage and subthreshold slope, it has been found that the dominant mechanism for device degradation is the interface state generation. From the GIDL measurement results, we confined that the EHP generation in interface state due to NBTI stress led to the increase of GIDL current. Therefore, one should take care of the increased GIDL current after NBTI stress in the ultra-thin gate oxide device. Also, the simultaneous consideration of reliability characteristics and dc device performance is highly necessary in the stress engineering of nanoscale CMOSFETs.

Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome Related with Blood Transfusion in a Dog with Chronic Kidney Disease (만성신장질환 개에서 수혈과 관련된 급성호흡곤란증후군)

  • An 11-year-old intact male Yorkshire terrier had intermittent vomiting, anorexia and depression for a month. Clinical laboratory works showed azotemia and anemia. Chronic kidney disease with developing anemia was diagnosed clinically. Clinical signs were resolved but anemia was deteriorated and blood transfusion was performed. On 10 hours after transfusion, the dog showed acute respiratory distress. Transfusion related acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) was diagnosed based on acute clinical signs, risk factors of transfusion, bilateral alveolar infiltration on thoracic radiographs, and $PO_2:FiO_2$ ratio less than 200 on arterial blood analysis. The dog died within 2 hours after ARDS diagnosis.

  • This paper presents the analysis of the human driving behavior based on the expression as a GMDH technique focusing on the driver's collision avoidance maneuver. The driving data are collected by using the three dimensional driving simulator based on CAVE, which provides stereoscopic immersive vision. A GMDH is also introduced and applied to the measured data in order to build a mathematical model of driving behavior. From the obtained model, it is found that the longitudinal distance between cars($x_1$), the longitudinal relative velocity($x_2$) and the lateral displacement between cars($x_4$) play important roles in the collision avoidance maneuver under the 3D environments.

Performance Characteristics of a Partially Admitted Small Mixed-Type Turbine (부분분사에서 작동하는 소형 사류형 터빈에서의 성능특성에 관한 연구)

  • A mixed-type turbine was adopted and the rotor outer diameter was 108 mm. Turbine rotors were designed to the axial-type blade because the turbine operated at a low partial admission rate of 1.7-2.0% with two stages. Performance characteristics were studied when the spouting from the nozzle was toward radially inward or outward direction. Additionally, the effect at each stage of the rotor was measured. For comparing with each turbine performance, properties were measured based on various rotational speeds. Measured net specific torque was used to compare with the turbine system performance. On the mixed-type turbine, better performance was obtained when the operating air spouted toward radially inward direction. The specific torque was increased by 7.8% from using the second stage although its effect depended on the rotational speed.

GARCH Model with Conditional Return Distribution of Unbounded Johnson (Unbounded Johnson 분포를 이용한 GARCH 수익률 모형의 적용)

  • Financial data such as stock index returns and exchange rates have the properties of heavy tail and asymmetry compared to normal distribution. When we estimate VaR using the GARCH model (with the conditional return distribution of normal) it shows the tendency of the lower estimation and clustering in the losses over the estimated VaR. In this paper, we argue that this problem can be resolved through the adaptation of the unbounded Johnson distribution as that of the condition return. We also compare this model with the GARCH with the conditional return distribution of normal and student-t. Using the losses exceed the ex-ante VaR, estimates, we check the validity of the GARCH models through the failure proportion test and the clustering test. We nd that the GARCH model with conditional return distribution of unbounded Johnson provides an appropriate estimation of the VaR and does not occur the clustering of violations.

Occlusion of Patent Ductus Arteriosus in a Chihuahua Dogs Using Amplatzer Vascular Plug though Femoral Vein (동맥관 개존증에 걸린 치와와 개에서 대퇴정맥을 통한 Amplatzer 혈관플러그를 이용한 중재술적 치료)

  • A 9 month-old female Chihuahua (weighing 1.5 kg) was referred with loud left basal murmur and exercise intolerance. Diagnostic imaging studies revealed the elongation of left ventricle (LV) with classic triple bumps on the main pulmonary artery, aorta and left atrium on the dorsoventral view of radiograph. Echocardiography revealed patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) duct and continuous turbulent shunt flow (maximal velocity 5.73 m/s) between the aorta and pulmonary artery with left to right direction. The PDA in this dog was successfully closed though femoral vein (transvenous approach) using an Amplatzer$^{(R)}$ vascular plug. To the best of author's knowledge, this is the first case of PDA occlusion treated with vascular plug through femoral vein.
