Development of an Evaluation Method for the Compressive-Bending Plastic Buckling Capacity of Pipeline Steel Tube (라인파이프 강관의 압축-휨 좌굴 성능 평가 기법 개발)

  • 본 논문에서는 라인파이프 강관의 압축-휨 좌굴 성능 평가 기법을 개발하기 위해 비선형 유한요소해석을 사용하였다. 고강도 강재의 연성거동을 모사하기 위해 범용 유한요소해석 프로그램인 ABAQUS의 사용자 재료모델을 사용하여 GTN(Gurson-Tvergaad-Needleman) 모델을 작성하였다. 실험결과와의 비교를 통해 재료모델상수를 결정하였으며 압축-휨 좌굴 실험의 모사에 사용하였다. 압축-휨 좌굴 성능 평가는 비선형 유한요소해석의 결과로부터 얻어진 한계압축변형률과 최대휨모멘트를 기준으로 수행될 수 있다. 개발된 성능 평가 기법은 고강도 강재를 이용한 라인파이프의 설계 시 대변형 거동 분석에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.

  • This research presents two methods to prevent local buckling from circular tube brace and then verify their performance capacity through a cyclic loading test. As control methods on local buckling, one is to restrict local buckling as attaching cover plate at range of buckling. And the another is to exclude danger of buckling as inserting contraction device with rod and spring at the center of brace. The purpose of this research is to develop structural device for restriction of local buckling or for exclusion of its. And we investigate appliance of suggested methods through an experiment. We also estimate the improvement of performance capacity in a quantitative respect.

A Study on the Evaluation of Member Buckling Performance of Space Frame Structures (스페이스 프레임 구조물의 부재좌굴성능 평가방안 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the safety and rationality of buckling strength and length coefficient by comparing with the design standards of domestic and foreign compression materials based on the buckling test results of circular steel pipe with ball joints. The types of round steel pipes selected for buckling performance evaluation were ø$48.6{\times}2.8t$, ø$60.5{\times}3.2t$ and ø$76.3{\times}3.2t$. For the design of domestic and foreign compression materials, Korea 's Load Resistance and Factor Design, Japan' s Limit State Design, and British Standard BS5950 standard were applied. In this study, we compared and analyzed the buckling performance between the experimental results of the previous research and the domestic and foreign design standards. The results were summarized as follows. As a result of applying the full length of the member to the buckling length in the compression materials design standards of each country, it was 64-89% of the buckling strength by the experiment. Therefore, it is deemed desirable to perform the member design according to the current design standard formula for safety. Experimental results show that the measured buckling strength was 1.02-1.43 times higher than the buckling strength of pure cylindrical steel tubes in the design standards of Korea, Japan and the United Kingdom compression materials. Consequently, it seemed that the buckling strength of individual member in the design of space frame structure should be considered buckling coefficient as the length of pure round steel pipe rather than the length of inter-node.

Influence of Lateral Ballast Resistance on the Buckling Fragility Curve of the Continuous Welded Rail Tracks (장대레일 궤도의 좌굴 취약도 곡선에 대한 도상횡저항력의 영향)

  • 기존 장대레일 궤도의 안정성 평가는 궤도 매개변수에 대하여 고정된 안전측의 값을 사용하는 결정론적인 해석에 의존해서 평가되어져 왔다. 그러나 실제현장의 궤도조건은 많은 영향인자들에 의해 그 특성이 불확실하게 변하고 있다. 따라서 온도하중에 의한 궤도 좌굴에 영향을 미치는 궤도 구성인자들의 불확실성 및 임의성을 보다 합리적으로 고려하기 위해서 확률론적 기법을 적용하는 것이 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 기존 본 연구진에 의해 개발된 장대레일 궤도의 좌굴확률 평가시스템을 이용하여 좌굴 취약도 곡선을 나타내었으며, 궤도 좌굴에 영향을 미치는 주요변수 중 하나인 도상횡저항력에 대한 영향을 분석하였다. 좌굴확률 평가시스템에서는 장대레일 궤도의 좌굴확률을 산정하기 위하여 구조물의 안정과 파괴를 판단할 수 있는 기준을 한계상태방정식으로 표현하고, 이 한계상태방정식으로부터 확률론적 기법 중 하나인 AFOSM(Advanced First Order Second Moment) 방법을 이용하여 파괴확률의 간접적인 지표인 신뢰도지수(${\beta}$)를 통해 좌굴확률을 계산한다. 한계상태방정식에서 구조물의 강도(보유성능)에 해당하는 부분은 궤도의 허용좌굴온도이고, 하중(요구성능)에 해당하는 부분은 레일온도하중으로써 현재 레일온도와 중립온도의 차로 반영된다. 허용좌굴온도 산정에 고려되는 주요변수는 곡선반경(Radius), 도상횡저항력(Lateral Ballast Resista nce), 연직도상강성(Vertical Ballast Stiffness), 궤도 틀림량(Misalignment), 틀림길이(Half Wave Length), 열차운행속도(Velocity)이다. 각 확률변수들이 갖는 확률분포는 모두 정규분포로 가정하였다. 궤도의 기하학적 특성은 곡선반경 5,000m에 대해 고려하였으며, 열차는 KTX의 제원을 사용하여 정지된 상태에서 고려하였다. 틀림량과 틀림길이는 이에 대한 통계적 특성자료가 부족하여 확률변수로 고려하지 않고 결정론적 값으로 취급하였다. 레일온도의 통계적 특성치는 본 연구진에 의해 구축된 기후요소 및 레일온도 DB를 근거로 결정하였으며, 중립온도는 선로관리지침에 따라 $25{\pm}3^{\circ}C$를 기준으로 결정하였다. 또한 도상횡저항력은 실측 데이터를 참고로 하여 평균값에서 10%의 변동량을 갖는 것으로 보고 통계적 특성치를 결정하였다. 도상횡저항력이 좌굴확률에 미치는 영향을 매우 큰 것을 알 수 있었으며, 레일온도 $60^{\circ}C$일 때 도상횡저항력이 증가하면서 감소되는 좌굴확률이 도상저항력이 커질수록 그 감소량이 작아지는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • The Buckling-Restrained Braces (BRB) has been developed to inhibit buckling and exhibit stable behavior under both tensile and compressive cycles. In this study, an experimental has been conducted by using the strength of its members and loading protocols as parameters to evaluate the structural performance of BRB (without in-filled concrete). Specimens are composed of an inner core and an outer tube with different steel strengths. When high-strength steels were used as inner cores, the ductility of BRB decreasedm and the requirements (Cumulative Plastic Ductility) of the AISC Seismic Provisions were not satisfied. However, when high-strength steels were used as inner cores instead of conventional strength steel cores, the maximum capacity increased significantly and displayed similar performance in total energy dissipation.

Seismic Behavior of Concrete-Filled HSS Bracing Members Reinforced by Rib (리브 보강된 콘크리트 충전 HSS 가새부재의 이력 거동)

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the seismic behavior of the bracing members. Lee and Goel's (1987) concrete filling in the hollow structural section (HSS) reduced the severity of local buckling and increased the fracture life. However, concrete filling in the HSS did not prevent the occurrence of local buckling in the midsection of the bracing member, which resulted in continuous strength degradation. This study investigated the seismic behavior of the concrete-filled HSS bracing member, which is reinforced by ribs in the midsection of the bracing member. The main variable of the specimens is rib length. The test results showed that buckling mode, cyclic compression strength, and energy dissipation capacity of the bracing members were affected by rib length. Specimen reinforced with ribs with a length of 63% had better structural performance.

The study on structural performance of fiber metal laminates (섬유금속 적층판의 구조적 성능 연구)

  • In this paper, yield stress, tangent modulus and failure strain were varied to ascertain the influence of impact response such as impact force histories and residual energy. And the buckling behavior of FML(Fiber Metal Laminates) were analyzed using numerical method. A number of analyses on FML and aluminum panel were conducted for shear and compression loading to compare the capability of stability. And to evaluate the static performance, static analysis has performed for box beam structure. Low-velocity impact analysis has performed on FML made of aluminum 2024 sheet and glass/epoxy prepreg layers. And the buckling and static performance of FML have been compared to aluminum using the analysis results. For the comparison of structural performance, similar analyses have been carried out on monolithic aluminum 2024 sheets of equivalent weight.

  • The characteristics of smart skin for wireless LAN system under compression load are investigated. The smart skin structure is composed of 3 layers of face material and 2 layers of core material. Theoretical formula for determining buckling load is derived by Rayleigh-Ritz method and compared with experimental result. The maximum length of specimen that buckling does not occur is determined by assuming that the compression load is sustained by only face material. In the experiment, if buckling occurs obviously then it follows the theoretical result well. In the process of buckling, the load supporting capability and the antenna property such as radiation pattern and reflection coefficient were examined.

  • The efficient beam members for modern greenhouse need to be much lightweight with the required flexural and buckling strength. To confirm the applicability and practicality of the trussed web beam recently proposed for column and beam members of greenhouse, the flexural behavior and buckling characteristics were analyzed by the finite element approach. On the basis of analytical studies, the member design process was presented considering the lateral and local buckling behavior. Also, two improved alternatives which were capable of retaining the lateral and local buckling effectively were suggested.
