The development of new media has gradually decreased the use of newspapers, which had previously occupied the largest share of media. Subscriptions have declined gradually and fell to 14 percent in 2016. This study explores the effects of Newspaper reader's characteristics on regular newspaper subscriptions. The data used for analysis was provided by the Korean Press Foundation and Media Audience Awareness Survey Data in 2016 and 2017. We considered gender, age, education, income, number of days of reading, reading time and amount of reading as the characteristics of the reader. Multiple logistic regression was fitted and interpreted to see what characteristics affect regular subscription.

국회 강성천 황영철 의원이 주최하고 자원순환연대가 주관하며 한국농어민신문과 당 협회가 후원한 '농수산물 스티로폴 상자 종이스티커 재질개선 간담회'가 지난 2월 29일 국회의원회관에서 열렸다. 이날 간담회에서 EPS 포장재의 재활용률을 높이고 상품의 이미지를 제고시키기 위해 종이 스티커 대신 PS(폴리스틸렌) 필름 스티커를 붙여야 한다는 데 의견이 모아졌다. 한국농어민신문이 정리한 이날 종합토론에서 개진 된 참석자들의 의견을 발췌했다.

This study aims at grasping the degree of change on the layout of newspaper through the analysis on the visualization of the Online Newspaper. It was analyzed on the basis of six dependent Online Newspapers. Six news companies' home pages and NAVER news homepage were compared and analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it has been found that the layout of the Online Newspaper has been changed rapidly through the visualization. Especially, the visualizations of some Online Newspaper have already reached the high level, and those of other newspapers are also under way rapidly. The visualization of the Online Newspaper is going on in the way that the size of images and the number of times of their being used in the news stories are increasing. Consequently, the visualization of the Online Newspaper follows the course of that of paper-based newspaper, and the relative importance of 'a newspaper that sees with an eye' to 'a newspaper that reads with an eye' grows bigger and bigger.

This research examines factors affecting behavioral intention to use integrated platform (IP), which is one of the business models regarding paid digital contents, based on extended United Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2). IP is a service which is designed to make digital content charged. It combines digitalized format of newspaper, premium news or behind news, and additional information. The results of this paper show that effort expectancy, social influence and hedonic motivation have positive relationship with behavioral intention to use IP (BI). Satisfaction with newspaper shows negative relationship with BI, which means that newspaper and IP can be replaced with each other. Newspaper subscribers tend to have higher BI than non-subscribers. Performance expectancy, gender, age, and satisfaction with website do not have significant effect on BI.

This study set out to investigate the reality of local press and changes to the occupational identity of reporters through the job mobility of reporters at local newspapers. The study examined what reasons the reporters had when they retired from one of three paper newspapers in Daejeon, where they moved to, and how their career mobility was. Some of them remained in the field of journalism including paper newspapers of the same kind and Internet newspapers, and others moved to various areas including politics, administration, academy, economy, and culture and art. The biggest number of them said they left their old paper newspapers because of poor wages and welfare benefits and absence of future visions. Their decision of leaving their old paper newspapers was also influenced by restructuring, restrictions to coverage and reporting, and great workload. Before the IMF foreign currency crisis in 1997, the press labor market was a typical internal labor market with the practitioners joining a newspaper in open recruitment and climbing up the promotion ladder from a common reporter through Deputy Head and Head of a department to Director of a bureau. The emergence of new media and the financial difficulties of newspaper corporations were currently making the internal labor market worse. Reporters made active use of social capital such as regionalism, alumni ties, and news beats rather than changing jobs by increasing their professionalism through self-development, thus causing side effects including the weakened supervision and criticism functions of local newspapers and damaging their occupational identity as reporters.

본 실험에서는 최근 급 신장된 국내신문인쇄의 윤전지절에 관해 지절발생수준 및 원인에 관해 분석하였다. 국내 신문사의 윤전지절 발생수준은 구미수준이며, 자동계지 (Autopasting)시 지절이 많았다. 전체적으로 국내 신문인쇄정비기술 및 장력수준은 양호하나 전기적친 정비기술, 신문사란 통일된 관리기법이 요구된다. 종이물성측면에서 기존의 인장, 인열강도 등의 관리로는 미소의 상관성 또는 부분상관성으로 전체적인 지절예측에는 한계가 있으며, 인열강도를 현실성있게 표현한 Fracture Toughness(FT)가 상관관계가 있음을 보여주었다. 또한 마찰계수 역시 지절상관성이 기대되는 물성임을 알 수 있었다. 윤전지절은 인쇄기의 불안정과 종이결함이 복합된 결과로 인쇄기의 안정성유지와 종이의 결함을 최소화하는 것이 필요하다. FT와 마찰계수를 이용한 관리기법으로 지료조성 및 펄프의 개질, 초지공정에 응용하여 최적강도 포인트를 찾아야 할 것이다.
