Folk paintings influence the lifestyle of the general public, and is visible practical communication presenting emotion, feelings and phenomenon through various functions and aesthetic molding specificity. Illustration as a medium for conveying information in modern society is time communication forming time circumstance based on a creative image, becoming an importance in the means of molding an active information society. Folk paintings and illustration express the subject of various kinds of stories of surroundings of daily lives ironically, humorously and symbolically, convey it in an accurate and detailed way in the various use of color and shape representation, and have a similar specificity as the general public's art influencing the society, culture, and environment, the general public's emotion and feelings of that time. The current research is to suggest the possibility and direction of Korean image representation in illustration by analyzing folk painting and illustration characters based on social, cultural function and role and molding specificity.

This paper deals with the basic principles and procedures involved in the steam-chest molding process used for manufacturing expanded polypropylene (EPP) bead foam. Steam-chest molding is an integral process for EPP technology. However, little research has been carried out on the processing conditions for steam-chest molding this process. The characteristics of EPP foam are energy absorption, multiple-impact protection, low weight, structural strength, and durability. In this study, the steam pressure in steam-chest molding was varied to determine the optimum conditions for manufacturing EPP foam. Moreover, annealing was performed after EPP-foam molding to prevent the shrinkage of the steam-molded product. It was possible to verify the mechanism of foam shrinkage by observing the change in weight with time at different annealing temperatures. Moreover, a tensile test and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis were performed to support these experimental results. The dimensional stability of each molded product was investigated at different steam pressures.

The purpose of this study is to measure and analyze color image scale when viewing the public objects installed in Kongju National University and the installation environment, and preferred colors and color image scale in the color planning. The research was conducted with the analysis of the sculpture installed in the school and the questionnaire for the students. As a result of the study, suggestions were made for points to be considered for user's perception of environmental sculptures in the school and when constructing the sculpture. This study approaches the color of the public environment sculpture installed in the school academically, and proposes factors to be considered in the color planning stage in the future. Therefore, it is expected that this study will provide appropriate guidelines for the installation and planning of the sculpture in the school.

The meaning of the characteristics of formative expression in contemporary residential architecture is flowing elements as important means to inbreathe emotional feeling of movement and as automatic and positive wats of expression. So the purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of formative expression in contemporary residential architecture, and to plan residential design linked with this kind of concept. For this study, analysis of case studies were used and the cases were selected in contemporary residential architecture which were represented having formative expressions since 2005. The major results found that the characteristics of formative expression were ex-center, reiteration, dispersibility, diagonality, plasticity, non-linearity, and deconstruction. In addition to that, we derived various methods expressing the formative characteristics, which were mass transformation, plan variation and composition element transformation. Summing these results up, the various characteristics of formative expression in contemporary residential architecture are understood as the results of the free modeling will of architects fulfilled with the spirit of inquiry and experiment to escape from the standard architecture in order to differentiate themselves.

The purpose of this study is to analyze formative features of women shoes, to develop distinctive shoes design for coming fashion trend. the methods of this study are documentary research and case study. In the theoretical study, this study has catched the origin of shoes and the changes of shoes design of each era. for the study of formative features of women shoes in 1990's, 215 kinds of pictures have been selected from in professional shoes magazines. The results of analysis are as follow. Woman shoes categorized the design factors into shape, material, decoration. Reformational shape that reconstructs old shape of shoes by comtemporary aesthetic, shape in that dual images were mixed, re-created shape that was constructed through the reconstruction of structures and shapes of shoes. Material image was strengthened by varying patterns of unburned calf, leopard and zebra. Avant-garde was appeared by using naturalistic material to represent natural beauty or using merry, daring material. Post-modern tendency was appeared like using brassiere strap instead of back strap or using round string in elegant shoes.

Nowadays, active teachers expend much time and effort in preparing for classes. Especially, the basic formative calsses in art education have much effect when they are done with a lot of material(plaster casts, etc.) and lighting effect, but not in real. Proposed web-based learning instrument makes possible basic formative classes with simple operation by loading several materials and lighting operator on the web. In this paper, we propose web-based learning instrument to improve basic formative classes. Students will easily be able to express shadow and shade by lights with this web-based learning instrument in basic formative classes.

떡살과 다식판은 의례음식인 떡과 다식에 무늬를 박기 위해 사용되었다. 우리 민족은 음식에 아름다운 모양을 나타내기 위해 떡살을 사용했을 뿐만 아니라 조상에 대한 염원과 기원을 담아 사용하였다. 그래서 떡살과 다식판은 단순한 생활도구의 차원을 넘어서 민족의 정서를 담고 있을 뿐만 아니라 그 형태와 무늬는 조형적이며 상징성과 예술성이 뛰어나 소중한 우리 전통문화유산이라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 이 글에서는 전통적인 떡살과 다식판에 대하여 알아보기로 한다.
