Stress History Evaluation for Truss Bridge with Local Damages by Using Global-Local Model Combination (전체해석과 국부해석 조합법을 이용한 국부결함이 있는 트러스교 응력이력해석)

  • This study predicts the stress history for truss bridge with local damages by using global-local model combination method. For this end, the global structure is modeled by 3D frame elements and the selected local details are modeled by shell elements. Then superposition principle enable the global-local model to be combined interactively. Because the frame model cannot consider the rigidity of gusset plate and the interation of structural members due to the complexity of stress distribution in truss connection. The section modification factors are proposed to calibrate the stiffness of global frame element. The global-local model combination is verified by comparing the numerical results with experimental data obtained from the proof loading test to the operating truss bridge. Furthermore, stress histrories of the truss bridge are generated in the consideration of the rigidity of truss connection with local damage by using the combination method.

  • The research on a thermal stress control layer (TSCL) begins to undertake to reduce residual stress and strain in the vicinity of the joined region between the hardfacing layer and the base part. The goal of this paper is to estimate the material combination and the thickness of TSCL for the Stellite21 hardfaced STD61 hot working tool steel via three-dimensional finite element analysis (FEA). TSCL is created by the combination of Stellite21 and STD61. The thickness of TSCL ranges from 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm. The influence of the material combination and the thickness of TSCL on temperature, thermal stress and thermal strain distributions of the hardfaced part have been investigated. The results of the investigation have been revealed that a proper material combination of TSCL is Stellite21 of 50 % and STD61 of 50 %, and its appropriate thickness is 1.0 mm.

Fracture Behaviors of Alumina Tubes under Combined Tension/Torsion (알루미나 튜브의 인장/비틀림 조합하중하의 파괴거동)

  • Fracture of Al2O3 tubes for different loading path under combined tension/torsion was investigated. Macroscopic directions of crack propagation agreed well with the maximum principal stress criterion, independent of the loading path. However, fracture strength from the proportional loading test(τ/σ= constant) showed either strengthening or weakening compared to that from uniaxial tension, depending on the ratio τ/σ. The Weibull theory was capable to predict the strengthening of fracture strength in pure torsion, but not the weakening in the proportional loading condition. The strengthening or weakening of fracture strength in the proportional loading condition was explained by the effect of shear stresses in the plane of randomly oriented microdefects. Finally, a new empirical fracture criterion was proposed. This criterion is based on a mixed mode fracture criterion and experimental data for fracture of Al2O3 tubes under combined tension/torsion. The proposed fracture criterion agreed well with experimental data for both macroscopic directions of crack propagation and fracture strengths.

  • 본 논문은 고정, 단순, 또는 자유 연단 조건의 네 가지의 다른 조합을 갖는 마름모꼴형 평판의 자유진동 데이터를 처음으로 제시한 연구이다. 본 논문의 주된 관점은 마름모꼴 형 평판 둔각모서리의 휨응력의 특이도를 엄밀히 고려하여 해석하는 것이다. Ritz 방법을 이용하여 수직진동변위를 두 가지 적합 함수식으로 가정하였다. 힌지와 고정, 자유와 고정, 또한 힌지와 자유인 모서리 응력 특이도의 중대한 영향력이 이해될 수 있도록 충분히 큰 1650 둔각모서리를 갖는 마름모꼴형 평판에 대하여 엄밀한 무차원 진동수와 수직변동변위의 전형적인 등고선을 제시하였다.

  • Launching truss used for constructing the precast segmental concrete bridge has upper chord, lower chord and diagonal members. And the pin is used for connecting these members. From the field loading test carried out for investigating the actual behavior of launching truss, the great difference is analyzed between measured stress and calculated stress. Based on measured value, the structural analysis are carried out about assumed abnormal behavior of connection part. From the results of analysis, it is analyzed that the abnormal behavior of connection part greatly affect the structural behavior of launching truss. In addition, from the investigation of safety of launching truss, it is evaluated that the launching truss has enough safety with normal behavior of connection part.

ANSYS 피로해석 모듈을 이용한 CANDU 6 핵연료채널 응력해석 및 ASME Code에 따른 해석절차 개발

  • 설계의 신뢰성은 응력해석을 통하여 확인될 수 있으며, 해석결과는 대상 부품의 구조적 건전성을 입증하는 근거가 된다. 본 보고서는 ANSYS의 피로해석 모듈을 이용한 CANDU 6핵연료채널의 응력해석 및 ASME Code에 따른 해석 절차 개발을 소개하였다. 응력해석은 ASME Code Section III NB-3200 의 $\ulcorner$Design by Analysis$\lrcorner$에 기초한 해석절차에 따라 수행하였으며, 체계적인 해석을 위해 자료 처리용 ANSYS 매크로 및 FORTRAN 프로그램을 개발하였다. 해석은 각 조건에 따라 기계적응력과 열응력해석으로 분리하여 수행한 후 조합되었으며, ANSYS 피로해석 모듈을 이용하여 선정된 절점들의 기계적응력과 열응력의 합에 대한 최대응력강도범위를 계산하였다. 응력해석 결과, CANDU 6 핵연료채널의 구조적 건전성이 입증되었으며, ANSYS를 이용한 ASME Code해석절차가 확립되어 CANDU 원자로 해석의 신뢰성을 크게 향상 시켰음은 물론 독자적인 수행을 위한 발판을 마련하였다.

  • An accurate method is presented for flexural vibrations of rhombic plates having all combinations of clamped and free edge conditions. The prime focus here is that the analysis explicitly considers the bending stress singularities that occur in the two opposite, clamped-free corners having obtuse angles of the rhombic plates. Accurate non-dimensional frequencies and normalized contours of the vibratory transverse displacement are presented for rhombic plates having a large enough obtuse angle of 165$^{\circ}$, so that a significant influence of clamped-free corner stress singularities may be understood.

  • Based on the form of the Tsai-Hill criterion, a new failure criterion for anisotropic material subjected to combined stress is developed and demonstrated. It is capable of accurately calculating the strength of anisotropic materials. The generality and accuracy of the present failure criterion are illustrated by examination through the use of Kraft paperboards under various loading conditions. Compared to the Tsai-Hill theory, which is much too conservative at high levels of shear stress, the present criterion has a good agreement with the experimental data. It also has the ability to calculate the strength more simply, compared to the Tan-Cheng theory.

  • In this study, assuming that there is a diagonal uniaxial compression field in combination with triangular homogeneous stress fields in the cracked concrete wall and a tensile stress of a steel plate occurs in the perpendicular to the direction of the diagonal compression field, an ultimate shear strength of a slender composite shear wall is estimated.
