Trust in organizations: Conceptualization and Trends (조직내 신뢰: 개념화와 연구동향)

  • This paper examines the diverse conceptualizations of trust and explores the multi-level factors affecting trust in organizations. Trust in organizations can be defined as a willingness to be vulnerable to the actions of others and to take risks based on the positive expectations toward the others' intentions and behaviors. The process of building and the content of trust in organizations can vary depending on the social and cultural backgrounds in which. the organizations lie. The reengineering process toward a flatter and flexible organizational structure requires the presence of trusting relationships within organizations. Networks within organizations can function as a basis and channel of trust formation. Finally, the importance of trust in efficient leadership process was discussed.

사회적책임이 조직신뢰, 조직몰입, 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향: 강원도기업을 중심으로

  • 2000년대 이후 기업의 경제적 이익을 위한 본연의 성과를 성취하기 위해서는 영리적 이익추구 이외에도 기업 내외부의 관여된 활동 범주 내에서 투자자, 소비자, 시민단체 그리고 노동조합등에 사회적책임(Corporate Social Responsibility:CSR)의 중요성이 점차 커져가고 있다. 이 중 사회적책임과 조직 내 구성원들의 조직유효성의 영향에 대한 다양한 선행논문이 있었으나, 지역으로 세분화하여 분석한 연구가 상대적으로 미비하였다. 이에 따라 강원도를 한정한 사회적책임이 조직신뢰, 조직몰입, 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 강원도 소재 기업들의 사회적책임에 대한 기반적 자료로써 활용될 것으로 여겨진다. 이를 확인하기 위해 본 연구는 강원도 소재 기업에 종사하는 구성원들을 대상으로 자료를 수집하여 총 186부의 표본을 활용하였다. 검증결과 사회적책임이 조직신뢰, 조직몰입이 긍정적인 영향을 미치나 조직시민행동에 부분적으로 채택되었으며, 조직신뢰는 조직시민행동에 긍정적 영향을 미치고 조직몰입은 조직시민행동에 부분적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 연구되었다. 본 연구는 선행논문에서 밝힌 사회적책임이 조직신뢰, 조직몰입, 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향에 대해서 지역을 한정해서 연구했으며, 분석결과 강원도 지역 내 사회적경제기업들이 다수 포진되어 있으며, 공동체성이 높기 때문에 사회적책임이 조직 유효성과 조직시민행동에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

The Relationship between Trust and Organization Commitment within Organization of Coast Guard Officers (해양경찰공무원의 조직내 신뢰와 조직몰입과의 관계)

  • Coast guard organization has very different working environment with other general administrative organizations or police organizations. Because they are charging various coastal crimes and safeties by using war vessel at ocean, it was expected that in case of coast guard officers, the impact on organization commitment for each trust factor within organization has the differentiation with other administrative organizations. Core of results by conducting positive research is as following: It is indicated that for coast guard officer, organization trust factor most strongly impacts on organization commitment, and of social trust factors, colleague trust factor more impacts relatively than boss trust factor. Then, when searching the difference of trust factor recognition depending on population sociological properties of coast guard officers, it is indicated that the one having the experience of working at war vessel has more trust to its colleagues than the one having not and executives more trust their boss than non-executives. The reason why the trust to colleague is higher than to boss is recognized that it is caused from deep relationship with colleagues who work and live together when considering working conditions of security vessel.

Convergence Influence of Organizational Justice, Intragroup Trust and Organizational Commitment on Organizational Citizenship Behavior among Hospital Administrative Staff (병원행정직의 조직공정성, 집단내신뢰 및 조직헌신도가 조직시민행동에 미치는 융복합 영향)

  • This study examined the relationship between organizational justice, intragroup trust, organizational commitment and Organizational Citizenship Behavior of Hospital Administrative Staff(OCB of HAS) and investigated convergence effects of these factors on OCB. The subjects were randomly selected 274 HAS from 22 hospitals randomly selected in J area. The data were collected from July 1 to July 31, 2019 for about a month, and the structured self-administered questionaries was used for the data survey. OCB was positively correlated with organizational justice, intragroup trust and organizational commitment. As a result of covariance structure analysis, it was found that the higher organizational justice, intragroup trust, and organizational commitment, the higher OCB. The results of the analysis showed that in order to increase the OCB of HAS, it was necessary to increase organizational justice, intragroup trust, and organizational commitment. The results of the survey are expected to be used as basic data for hospital human resource management, which enhances OCB of HAS, and health education in the emotional and psychological aspects of HAS. In the future study, it is necessary to investigate various factors affecting OCB of HAS.

  • Interpersonal trust is the mutual "faithfulness" on which all social relationship ultimately depend and applicable to the relations among people rather than to their psychological states taken individually. Recent development in the organizational sciences reflect the importance of interpersonal trust relationships for sustaining individual and organizational effectiveness, researchers have recongnized trust's influence on coordination and control at both institutional and interpersonal levels of organization. Because economic action is embeded within networks of social relationships. researchers have argued that efficiency within complex systems of coordinated action is only possible when interdependent actors work together effectively. Thus, for managers and professionals in organizations, developing and maintaining trust relationship is especially import. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the mechanism of interpersonal trust in the organization. Effects of Organizational Trust on Commitment and Citizenship Behavior (조직신뢰가 몰입 및 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향)

  • Organizational trust (OT) plays a substantial role to attain competitive advantages. It is an effective way to enhance organizational effectiveness. OT makes employees to have a positive emotion toward a firm, also it contributes employees to bring a spontaneous behavior. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships among OT, organizational commitment (OC), and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) theoretically and empirically. A total of 228 cases in 15 Chinese companies are used for empirical analysis. The results show that OT has a positive effect on OC and OCB. It is suggested that OT is an important variable to improve emotional and continuance commitment. Also the results reveal that OCB is a meaningful dependent factor that is affected by OC.

  • As to the research method for this study, it examines the conceptional understanding of organizational politics along with existing theories, prior research and prior models on the perception of organizational politics. Empirical analysis concerning the six hypothesis of the research, is carried out based upon returned questionnaires. The subjects of the survey were more than sergeant executive of 51 units R.O.K Army. Out of the 350 copies of the questionnaire, 323 copies were returned of which 294 were used for analysis. Results indicated that perceptions of organizational politics were negatively related to job attitudes(eg. job satisfaction, organizational commitment, organizational citizenship behavior). The relationship between perceptions of organizational politics and organizational citizenship behavior was moderated by trust in supervisor. Finally, implications and future research suggestions are discussed.

  • This study aims to mediating effects of trust on the relationships between R&D organizational culture and organizational- performance. Additionally, This study is to examine the impact of R&D organizational culture to organizational performance. The findings are as follows : First, R&D organizational culture had a significant positive effects on the organizational performance. Second, the mediating effects of trust had a significant effects on all relationships. The means that attaining trust contribute to member's attitude and organization performance, therefore supervisor should make efforts to maintain and enhance trust in organization.

  • The purpose of this study was to research the relationships among ethical climate, trust, organizational identification and turnover intention of employees in travel agency. Ethical climates the prevailing perceptions of typical organizational practices and procedures that have ethical content. Ethical climate involves the perceptions of rightness or wrongness present in the organization's work environment, and establishes the norms for acceptable and unacceptable behavior within the company. To accomplish this study, it was determined that the analysis derived from a hypothesis and literature reviews and data collected from 231 employees in travel agency. The results of empirical analysis showed as follows. First, Perceived ethical climate has a significant effect on trust, organizational identification and turnover intention. Second, Organizational identification has a significant effect on turnover intention while trust has no relationship with it. In addition, the mediating role of organizational identification is examined in the relationship between ethical climate and turnover intention. Based on these findings, the implications and limitations of the study were presented including some directions for future studies.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the antecedents of employee's organizational change commitment during organizational change. We propose that leader-member exchange (LMX) and trust in the organization could foster employee's commitment to change. A theoretical model linking the role of leader-member exchange and trust in the organization to affective commitment and normative commitment to organizational change through leadership have tested in a study of 303 respondents from 15 organizations reporting that their organizations were undergoing significant change due to the turmoil environment and M&A. We develop the hypotheses from the prior studies and empirically test them in the context of personnels who have survived from the drastic organizational changes. Based on the analyzed results, we discussed the theoretical implications and limitations.
