A Study of Smart Robot Architecture and Movement for Observation of Dangerous Region (위험지역 감시스마트로봇의 설계와 동작에 관한 연구)

  • Catastrophic disasters are sprouting out recently, i.e., the radiation leaks and the hydrofluoric acid gas leaks, etc. The restoration work for these kinds of disasters is very harmful and dangerous for human beings to handle themselves, thus allowing manless robots to fly the reconnaissance planes over to the disaster stricken areas and do the necessary work instead. For this endeavor and purpose, we created and tested an intelligent robot that can inspect those areas, using Mbed (ARM processor) technology temperature sensors and gas sensors aided by CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) cameras. Also, HTTP Server, PC, androids and their combined efforts allow their remote controlled operation from far away with timing control. These intelligent robots can be on duty for 24 hours, minimizing the accidents and crimes and what not, and can respond more quickly when these misfortunes actually happen. We can anticipate the economic effects as well, derived from the reduced needs for hiring human resources.

  • Drone, which refers to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), industries are improving rapidly and exceeding existing level of remote controlled aircraft models. Also, they are applying automation and cloud network technology. Recently, the ability of drones can bring serious threats to public safety such as explosives and unmanned aircraft carrying hazardous materials. On the purpose of reducing these kinds of threats, it is necessary to detect these illegal drones, using acoustic feature extraction and classifying technology. In this paper, we introduce sound feature vector extraction method by harmonic feature extraction method (HLA). Feature vector extraction method based on HLA make it possible to distinguish drone sound, extracting features of sound data. In order to assess the performance of distinguishing sounds which exists in outdoor environment, we analyzed various sounds of things and real drones, and classified sounds of drone and others as simulation of each sound source.

  • The importance of the air and vessel traffic control center is increasing rapidly after the recent accident of 'Sewol ferry'. Aviation, marine, and the logistics sectors are already using monitoring and control technology widely. However, the monitoring and control system for complex and dangerous construction sites operation has yet to be employed. A monitoring/control system is required for effective communication between the control center and the construction equipment fleet at a construction site, and also the exact role that notifies accurate process and identification of hazards on construction sites as needed. Therefore, this paper presents the study about communication between the construction equipment fleet and the control center through the comparison of air traffic, marine, and logistics control systems for the development of construction equipment fleet management system.

A Study on the Relative Distance in Taking Action to Avoid Ship`s Collision (선박충돌회피를 위한 피항개시거리에 관한 연구)

  • In the Steering and Sailing Rules of International Regulations for Preventing Collicions at Sea, 1972, any relative distance between two vessels necessary for taking action to avoid collision in head-on situation is not referred. In this paper, the author analyzed the ship's collision avoiding actions from a viewpoint of ship motions and worked out mathematical formulas to calculate the relative distances necessary for collision avoiding actions. Figuring out the values of maneuvering indices through experiments of actual ships, the author applied these values to the calculationg formulas and calculated the minimum safe relative distances. On the assumption that two vessels same in size and condition are approaching each other in head-on situation, the minimum safe relative distance was calculated as 5.0 times, sufficient safe relative one as 10.0 times their own length.

  • As the number of high - rise buildings has increased recently, this research society has become interested in the method of cleaning the external wall required. When cleaning these areas, an accident occurs every year when a person uses dangerous manual labor using a gondola. The main goal of this work is to enable people to manipulate the robot with simple operation without dangerous manual operation when working in a vertical structure. As the altitude increases, the concept of the mechanism attaching to the vertical structure while enduring the external resistance in the increase of the wind strength is applied, and the additional attachment device is attached to the end of the leg based on the existing four- According to the control, the development result of the robot having the function of detachable to the glass is presented.

  • 기존의 드론 조작은 초보자에게 어려웠다. 초보자의 경우 드론을 조종하다가 드론이 추락하거나 장애물에 걸려 프로펠러 등의 부품들이 손상되는 경우를 빈번하게 마주한다. 본 연구에서는 초보자 또한 드론 파손의 걱정 없이 드론의 조작을 더욱 쉽게 개선시키는 것을 전제로 뇌파와 보조입력인 음성인식을 이용한 드론 컨트롤러 기술을 적용하고자 한다. 현재 대중적으로 출시되어 있는 드론의 경우 호버링 기능을 포함시켜 드론의 추락 위험을 줄여주는 기능을 탑재하고 있다. 하지만 속도가 빠른 드론의 조작에 있어 미숙한 초보자들은 장애물과의 충돌 그리고 드론 착륙 시 기체손상 등의 위험에 대비하기 힘들다. 본 논문은 이러한 문제점들을 개선하기 위해 기존의 드론 컨트롤러 대신 특정한 동작을 상상할 때 발현되는 동작상상뇌파와 음성입력을 적용한 '동작상상뇌파와 음성인식을 이용한 드론 컨트롤러' 기술을 제안한다. 기존의 드론 컨트롤러와는 다르게 빅 데이터 처리기술인 머신러닝을 이용하여 뇌파 데이터를 처리하고 그 데이터들과 입력되는 뇌파 값을 비교하여 드론을 제어한다. 또한 뇌파의 발현이 안정적이지 못하는 상황을 대비한 보조입력인 음성인식을 이용하여 드론의 기체손상을 최소화 시킬 수 있다.

A Case of Rapid Cycling Secondary Bipolar Disorder Following Rt. Hemisphere Cerebral Infarction in a Patient with Preceeded Left Hemisphere Poststroke Depression (좌반구 뇌졸중후 우울증 환자에서 우반구 뇌경색이 수반된 급속 순환형 이차성 양극성장애 1례)

  • Authors report a case of poststroke bipolar disorder that occurs much less frequently than poststroke depression(PSD). A MRI study performed to identify the etiology of a secondary manic episode in a patient with preceded PSD after left basal ganglia infarction revealed newly developed right basal ganglia infarction associated with poststroke bipolar disorder. It is interesting to note that (1) the temporal relationship was found between the occurrence of PSD after left hemisphere stroke and the occurrence of poststroke bipolar disorder following right hemisphere stroke, and that (2) the occurrence of PSD and the occurrence of poststroke bipolar disorder are associated with lesion location respectively. It has been reported that bipolar disorders were associated with subcortical lesions of the right hemisphere, whereas right-cortical lesions led to unipolar mania and that risk factors for mania included a family history of psychiatric disorders and mild subcortical atrophy. In this case, MR image shows subcortical lesions of the right hemisphere and mild subcortical atrophy. The investigation of the relationships among stroke lesion locations and potstroke mood disorders and risk factors for poststroke bipolar disorder may contribute to understanding the neurobiology of primary mood disorder. A clinical implication is that the risk of secondary bipolar disorder after cerebral infarction should be highlighted.

A Study on the Correlation between Shiphandler's Subjective Evaluation and Maneuvering Difficulty in Curved Narrow Channel (굴곡된 협수로 통항에서 조반자의 주관적 위험감지도와 조종인난도와의 상관관계에 관한 기초 연구)

  • The assesment of the safety of ship's transit in a curved narrow channel consists of the maneuvering safety determined by the chance of running aground, the maneuvering difficulty determined by ship's workload, and shiphandler's subjective evaluation. In this study, to examine the correlation between shiphandler's subjective evaluation and the maneuvering safety, the real-time and full-mission shiphandling simulator in the Korea Marine Training & Research Institute(KMTRI) was utilized. On the conning bridge of the shiphandling simulator, 50 experienced masters have conducted the modeled vessel of 60, 000 deadweight tonnage along the designed channel under 3 different environmental conditions. It was possible to assess and analyze theoretically the correlation between the shiphandler's subjective evaluation and maneuvering difficulty under each environmental condition by quantifying the data obtained from the tests. The results are as follows: $\circled1$ As the degree of maneuvering difficulty increases, the shiphandler's subjective evaluation increases in the designed channel under the designed environmental condition. $\circled2$ In the straight area, not the bend of the designed channel, maneuvering difficulty increases sharply under the environmental condition of current and wind coming from the stern.

  • 본 논문은 건물 외면의 유리창 청소로봇에 관한 것으로, 더욱 세부적으로는 청소 시스템을 갖춘 로봇을 사람이 닦기 힘들거나 위험한 고층건물이나 아파트 둥의 실외 유리창에 흡착시켜 청소로봇을 이용하여 실외 유리창을 자동으로 닦을 수 있게 하는 건물 외면의 유리창 청소로봇에 관한 것이다. 진공펌프를 사용하여 유리창에 안정적으로 흡착할 수 있도록 하였고, 블루투스를 이용하여 무선 조종이 가능하도록 하여 사용자가 원거리에서 로봇의 청소를 제어할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • Cryosurgery is a safe method for palliation of endobronchial malignancies causing airway obstruction. Due to its simplicity and effectiveness for controlling bleeding, endobronchial cryosurgery is considered to be a good method that is clinically applicable to a malignant endobronchial tumor. In cases with stenosis caused by an endoluminal tumor, cryo-recanalization with a cryoprobe was immediately effective in most of the patients. A novel technique described by Hetzel in 2004 to achieve rapid recanalization of central airway obstruction with endobronchial cryoprobe. Cryorecanalization technique is feasible and offers many advantages in the interventional therapy of malignant intraluminal tumors of the respiratory tract.
