The Study of Visualization for Moving Particles in the Water Using Artificial Neural Network (인공신경망을 이용한 수중 충돌입자의 가시화 연구)

  • In this paper, we proposed a visualization system with ANN algorithm that traits the motion of particles that move colliding in the water, where we got a great deal of variable information and predicts the distribution of particles according to the flowing of water and the pattern of their precipitation. We adopted ART2 to detect sensitively the collision between particles in this visualzation. Various particles and their mutual collision influencing the force such as buoyancy force, gravitational force, and the pattern of precipitation are considered in this system. Flowing particles whose motion is changed with the environment can be visualized in the system presented here as they are in real water.

Robust k-means Clustering-based High-speed Barcode Decoding Method to Blur and Illumination Variation (블러와 조명 변화에 강인한 k-means 클러스터링 기반 고속 바코드 정보 추출 방법)

  • In this paper presents Robust k-means clustering-based high-speed bar code decoding method to blur and lighting. for fast operation speed and robust decoding to blur, proposed method uses adaptive local threshold binarization methods that calculate threshold value by dividing blur region and a non-blurred region. Also, in order to prevent decoding fail from the noise, decoder based on k-means clustering algorithm is implemented using area data summed pixel width line of the same number of element. Results of simulation using samples taken at various worst case environment, the average success rate of proposed method is 98.47%. it showed the highest decoding success rate among the three comparison programs.

  • This paper presents the region of interest pattern image extraction method on a display printed matrix pattern. Proposed method can not use conventional method such as laser, ultrasonic waves and touch sensor. It searches feature point and rotation angle using luminance and pattern reliable feature points of input image, and then it extracts region of interest. In order to extract region of interest, we simulate proposed method using pattern image written various angles on display panel. The proposed method makes progress using the OpenCV and the window program, and was designed using Verilog-HDL and was verified through the FPGA Board(xc6vlx760) of Xilinx.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a contents when we are going to introduce cryptography and information security for vocational high school students. For this we do a survey of the students' level for understanding of information security and the 7th curriculum for school mathematics, 2007 revised curriculum for school mathematics, the curriculum for vocational high school, and we search for the material that connects between mathematics subjects and vocational subjects. We develop a text book that introduces information security and cryptography. After we teach vocational high school students by using this developed book, we get the result that learning cryptography with computer programming makes a good motivation of learning mathematics and roles a parameter between mathematics curriculum and vocational curriculum. As a result we propose that the developed contents can be used in 'Practical Mathematics' in the 7th curriculum for school mathematics or 'Application of Mathematics' in 2007 revised curriculum for school mathematics.

  • In this paper, design, development and evaluation of DIP(Database Interface Program) are presented. The main purpose of this study is to improve the simulation quality to get more realistic response of target system. The designed and developed major function is composed of flexible memory structure, efficient arithmetic database language and high speed interpolation/extrapolation algorithm. To evaluate the operation speed and accuracy of returned data, trim simulation is performed based on in-house software and, DIP is applied to existing real-time simulator such as engineering HQS(Handling Quality Simulator) to evaluate reliability and performance. The result of evlaution reveals that calculation speed and data accuracy are satisfied, and flight performance is satisfied in the real-time simulator environments.

  • Satisfying the same probability of loss of control and essentially two fail operative performance with a triplex computer architecture requires a lot of modification of the conventional redundancy management design techniques, previously employed in quadruplex digital flight control computer. T-50 FCS for triplex redundancy management design applied an advanced digital flight control architecture with an I/O controller which is functionally independent of the digital computer to achieve the same reliability and special failure analysis and isolation schemes for fail operational goals with a triplex configuration. The analysis results indicated that the triplex flight control system is to satisfy the safety requirement utilizing the advanced flight control techniques and the system performance of the implemented flight control system was verified by failure mode effect test.

  • Sensors have a function to gather environment-related information operating by small-size battery in sensor networks. The issue related with energy is still an important in spite of the recent advancements in micro-electro-mechanical-system(MEMS) related techology. Generally it is assumed that replacement or rechargement of battery power in sensor is not feasible and a message send operation may spend at least 1000 times battery than a local operation. Thus, there have been several kinds of research efforts to lessen the number of unnecessary messages by maintaining the information of the other neighboring(or all) sensors. In this paper, we propose an index structure based on parent-children relationship to the purpose. Namely, parent node gathers the set of location information and MBA per child. It's named PH and may allow to process the range query with higher accurate and small size information. Through extensive experiments, we show that our index structure has better energy consumption.

  • The techniques and the products which use various video compression codec are come out from army or civil field. In existing high-end PC environment, process of the video compression codec does not become a problem, but in embedded system environments which limited system resources, because the system load due to the high-resolution images compressed by high-density, issues of performance and utilization are highlighted. This paper proposes the DirectShow Filter interfaces which are a hardware method in order to solve the problem existing software algorithms for image compression performance and peripheral interfaces.

Detailed-information Browsing Technology based on Level of Detail for 3D Cultural Asset Data (3D 문화재 데이터의 LOD 기반 상세정보 브라우징 기술)

  • In this paper, we propose the new method that offer detailed-information through relax the system memory limitation about 3D model to user. That method based on making LOD(Level of Detail) model from huge 3D data of structure cultural assets. In our method as transformed AOSP algorithm, first of all it create the hierarchical structure space about 3D data, and create the LOD model by surface simplification. Then it extract the ROI(Region of Interest) of user in simplified LOD model, and then do rendering by original model and same surface detailed-information after process the local detailed in extracted region. To evaluate the proposed method, we have some experiment by using the precise 3D scan data of structure cultural assets. Our method can offer the detailed-information same as exist method, and moreover 45% reduced consumption of memory experimentally by forming mesh structure same as ROI of simplified LOD model. So we can check the huge structure cultural assets particularly in general computer environment.

A Refinement Strategy for Spatial Selection Queries with Arbitrary-Shaped Query Window (임의의 다각형 질의 윈도우를 이용한 공간 선택 질의의 정제 전략)

  • The shape of query windows for spatial selection queries is a rectangle in many cases. However, it can be issued for spatial selection queries with not only rectangular query widow, but also polygonal query window. Moreover, as the applications like GIS can manage much more spatial data, they can support the more various applications. Therefore it is valuable for considering about the query processing method suitable for not only rectangle query window, but also general polygonal one. It is the general state-of-the-art approach to use the plane- sweep technique as the computation algorithm in the refinement step as the spatial join queries do. However, from the observation on the characteristics of spatial data and query windows, we can find in many cases that the shape of query window is much simpler than that of spatial data. From these observations, we suggest a new refinement process approach which is suitable for this situation. Our experiments show that, if the number of vertices composing the query window is less than about 20, the new approach we suggest is superior to the state-of-the-art approach by about 20% in general cases.
