Study on the Development of LED streetlight control system using GPS satellite communication and Arduino (GPS 위성통신과 아두이노를 이용한 에너지 절약형 LED 가로등 제어 시스템 개발에 관한 연구)

  • A streetlight control system was developed using information technology and LED lights for efficient management and energy savings. The proposed system can control the power usage of an LED streetlight luminaire using GPS satellite communication and an Arduino with a built-in microprocessor. A control circuit was designed to control the current using GPS, a control unit, transistor, resistor, and constant-current supply circuit. The circuit was validated through experiments with normal operation. Using GPS, the control system extracts accurate time and location information according to the season, and it controls the current supplied to the LED streetlight according to the extracted time. Power consumption was reduced by more than 11%. The control system could reduce accidents caused by conventional lighting systems used to save energy, and it could improve the inefficient management of energy by preserving constant brightness of a streetlight at times and in areas that have less traffic.

Development of a Recognition System of Smile Facial Expression for Smile Treatment Training (웃음 치료 훈련을 위한 웃음 표정 인식 시스템 개발)

  • In this paper, we proposed a recognition system of smile facial expression for smile treatment training. The proposed system detects face candidate regions by using Haar-like features from camera images. After that, it verifies if the detected face candidate region is a face or non-face by using SVM(Support Vector Machine) classification. For the detected face image, it applies illumination normalization based on histogram matching in order to minimize the effect of illumination change. In the facial expression recognition step, it computes facial feature vector by using PCA(Principal Component Analysis) and recognizes smile expression by using a multilayer perceptron artificial network. The proposed system let the user train smile expression by recognizing the user's smile expression in real-time and displaying the amount of smile expression. Experimental result show that the proposed system improve the correct recognition rate by using face region verification based on SVM and using illumination normalization based on histogram matching.

  • This paper deals with the effectiveness of a fiber optic solar lighting system that uses a Fresnel lens mounted on a two-axis solar tracker. A series of comparative analyses were made concerning its performance as compared to fluorescent lighting by using a simulation model based on ECOTECT and RADIANCE as well as referring to actual data. ECOTECT was used to model the test room (space) while RADIANCE was used for its indoor lighting conditions (environment). It was found that the average indoor light levels of fluorescent lighting fully satisfy the KS standard (KS A 3011, general office, class [G]: 300-400-600lux) whereas those of the solar lighting with light diffusers depends on the occlusion factor of roller shades installed on the south window.

The Energy Performance & Economy Efficiency Evaluation of Microturbine Installed in Hospital buildings (대형병원에서 마이크로터빈 이용한 열병합시스템 에너지성능 및 경제성 분석)

  • Distributed generation(DG) of combined cooling, heat, and power(CCHP)has been gaining momentum in recent year as efficient, secure alternative for meeting increasing energy demands. This paper presents the energy performance of microturbine CCHP system equipped with an absorption chiller by modelling it in hospital building. The orders of study were as following. 1)The list and schedule of energy consumption equipment in hospital were examined such as heating and cooling machine, light etc. 2) Annual report of energy usage and monitoring data were examined as heating, cooling, DHW, lighting, etc. 3) The weather data in 2007 was used for simulation and was arranged by meteorological office data in Daejeon. 4) Reference simulation model was built by comparison of real energy consumption and simulation result by TRNSYS and ESP-r. The energy consumption pattern of building were analyzed by simulation model and energy reduction rate were calculated over the cogeneration. As a result of this study, power generation efficiency of turbine was about 30[%] after installing micro gas turbine and lighting energy as well as total electricity consumption can be reduced by 40[%]. If electricity energy and waste heat in turbine are used, 56[%] of heating energy and 67[%] of cooling energy can be reduced respectively, and total system efficiency can be increased up to 70[%].

  • Recently, HID lamps have been considered as important in regard to the trend of energy saving, and increasingly and diversely used in various ways. This paper will show the simulating models concerning high-pressure arc discharge system directly applicable for its design and manufacture, and analyze its various characteristics. For warm-up characteristics, the evaporating process of inner atoms is described in terms of second-order differential equation: for the thermal conduction from are axis to discharge wall and outer bulb, its transfer process is introduced according to five first-order differential equations. Under the steady state satisfying LTE, the time-variant characteristics are suggested by means of time-dependent energy balance equation derived from fluid equations, approximation of radiation energy and material functions in the discharge tube. The simulating models concerning these equations are then applied for high-pressure mercury lamp.

  • The paper considers a distributed adaptive control technique for industrial robots which contribute to the factory automation. The control object is to tracking for a desired trajectories under various load conditions., rapidly against load variation these control techniques divided whole system into subsystems which is controlled with the nominal and adaptation controllers, and also the asymptotic stability of these substem was proved. Simulation results shown that the proposed techniques was feasible in spite of nonlinear dynamics of robot manipulator and payload variations.

  • 본 논문에서는 원자력 발전소 정상 운전시 제어 및 상태벡터 가변을 고려한 최적제어 문제가 연구되었다. 제어기 설계시 제어 및 상태벡터가 변하는 경우를 고려하여 제어기를 구성하고 운전중 상태 및 제어벡터 가변에 따라 변하는 제어기의 최적이득을 정한정 및 양한정 행렬을 이용해 구함으로서 운전중의 부하변화 및 외란에 대해 실질적인 최적제어가 되도록 하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 정상상태의 부하변화에 대해서는 제어목적에 맞게 잘 추종하고 있었고 원자로 입·출구 및 가압기 계통의 외란에 대해서는 정상상태시의 부하변화와 같은 응답특성을 갖으나 적은 외란에 대해서도 부하가 크게 변하는 회과를 갖는 응답특성을 보이고 있어 외란이 시스템 전반에 미치는 영향이 매우 큼을 보이고 있다.

  • 본 연구는 전온하의 질소가스에서 구대 평판전극을 사용하여 온도변화([$0^{\circ}C$]~[$80^{\circ}C$]와 전극간 거리(d=1.0, 2.0, 3.0[mm])를 변환시켰 을 때의 방전트성을 연구하였다. 본 연구에서 얻은 중요한 결론은 다음과 같다. \circled1 온도가 저하함에 따라 절연파괴전압(VB)은 상승한다. \circled2 온도를 강하시킴에 따라 방전지속시간(t)이 길어진다. \circled3 전극의 불평등성이 클수록 절연파괴전압(VB)의 온도의존성이 커진다. \circled4 절연파괴 전계강도(EB)는 다음식으로 표현할 수 있다. 여기서, A, B 및 C는 상수이며 그 값은 다음표와 같다. EB=$AT^2$+BT+C(EB: 절연파괴 전계강도[kV/mm], T: 측정시의 온도[$^{\circ}C$]).

  • The principle of an illumination and projection system including LED light sources for a spot type stage lighting system was presented, and its optical system was designed with optimizing parameters by the analytical methods. A dichroic mirror incorporated with an illumination system to optimizing LED source positions and to obtain the compact system. The projection system was optimized with specific constraints such as a chromatic aberration, distortion aberration and angle of incidence angles. Optimized design system has a beam angle from $10^{\circ}$ to $45^{\circ}$, and its illuminance was 4,500lux at distance of 6m on the work plane.

  • 이 논문에서는 100W급 Discrete LED 투광기 조명 제품 개발에 관한 것으로, 3W RGBA LED를 이용하여 광색 및 색온도 제어가 가능하도록 광학/방열/회로/시스템 설계를 통한 시제품을 제작하였다. 그 결과, 색온도 $2,000{\sim}10,000K$ 범위에서 흑체궤적에 정확히 일치하면서 연색지수가 $71{\sim}91$까지 고연색성을 실현하였으며, 동작전압 $90{\sim}250VAC$, 효율 87%, 역률 93이상의 양호한 전기적 특성을 나타냈다. 또한 투광기의 협각/중각/광각 배광을 만족하기 위하여 LED 렌즈를 설계하였으며, 신뢰성 확보 및 주위온도에 따른 광출력 변화를 최소화할 수 있는 방열설계를 실시하였다.
