Controller Design of a galvanometer for Laser Marking Equipment (레이저 마킹 장비를 위한 갈바노미터의 제어기 설계)

  • In this paper, proposed is a control system for a galvanometer which is widely used fer laser display, laser processing and marking systems. The galvanometer with mirror is modeled as a second-order dynamic system Based on frequency responses and time domain responses of the developed model, a conventional PID controller is designed And it is implemented using a DSP(TMS320C32) chip with precision A/D and D/A converters. Through frequency response and experimental results, it is convinced that the proposed control system works well in real environment. Furthermore it is very easy to be connected to any PC because of USB communication port, and the cost of the marking system can be lowered very much because the DSP do the all the jobs for generating font motion as well as controlling the galvanometer.

  • As transmission line is installed by manual operation, it is necessary to scheme the automatic system for stringing transmission wire. For this necessity, the objective of this paper is developed automatic control system for a stringing of transmission wire. In this paper, transmission wire with suspended pattern and ac servo motor for torque generating are modeled. On the basis of wire model, algorithms to determine the reference tension is presented, so as the dip of transmission wire is keep constancy. The control scheme is proposed by the ac servo motor for torque generation and a load cell for a detected tension of transmission wire and implemented. We experimentally show that the performance of the tension response is satisfactory. And also proposed scheme verified the utilities for tension control of transmission wire.

  • This paper handles the design of a real time traffic data acquisition system using loop detector and piezo-electric sensor to acquire the vehicle information EISA compatible parallel I/O interface card is designed to sample 30 I/O channels at variable rates for raw traffic data acquisition. The control software is designed to generate the traffic data informations from the raw data. The traffic data information provides vehicle length, speed, number of axles, etc. Vehicle types are detected and categorized into eleven types from the vehicle length, axles positions and axle counts information. The traffic information is formed into packet and transferred to the remote hosts through serial communications for ITS applications.

  • Robust control for DC motor is needed according to the highest precision of industrial automation. However, when a motor control system with PID contoller has an effect of load disturbance, it is very difficult to guarantee the robustness of control system. In this paper, PID-supervision hybrid control methods for motor control system (without the supervisory controller) is stable in the sense that the error is inside the constraint set, the supervisory control is idle. If the error hits the boundary of the constraint, the supervisory controller beings operation to force the error back to the constraint set. We prove that the PID-supervision hybrid control system is globally stable in the sense that the error is guaranteed to be within the tolerance limits specified by the system designer.

  • The target of this research is a design of constant and high efficiency driving system for a low pressure UV lamp. An UV lamp system is one of wide range electrical equipments for semiconductor manufacturing and sterilization, etc... It is essential the technique of constant output for high added value device. A design target of driving system for low pressure UV lamp of conversion efficiency is 90[%], UV lamp of output stability within ${\pm}7.5[%]$, and lamp power is over 200[W]. The results meet the target of this study well, and have a benefit of domestic market occupation and enable to export. And if protection circuits were developed, it increases the stability of a electronic ballast for UV lamps.

  • Distributed Generation (DG) is predicted to play a important role in electric power system in the near future. insertion of DG system into existing distribution network has great impact on real-time system operation and planning. It is widely accepted that micro turbine generation (MTG) systems are currently attracting lot of attention to meet customers need in the distributed power generation market. In order to investigate the performance of MT generation systems, their efficient modeling is required. This paper presents the modeling and simulation of a MT generation system suitable for stand-alone operation. The system comprises of a permanent magnet synchronous generator driven by a MT. A brief description of the overall system is given, and mathematical models for the MT and permanent magnet synchronous generator are presented. Also, the use of power electronics in conditioning the power output of the generating system is demonstrated. Simulation studies with MATLAB/Simulink have been carried out in stand-alone operation mode of a DG system.

  • In this paper, authors performed improvement of control characteristics of an attraction type magnetic levitation system. The attraction type magnetic levitation system has an inherent instability in the system, therefore its controller must have not only proportional-integral gain but also differential gain additionally. In this paper, authors were proposed control algorithm using disturbance observer(DOB) on feedback signal. The computer simulation and experiments were performed for its verification.

  • This paper deals with the simulation modeling of PV generation system for its application to utility distribution network PSCAD/EMIDC simulation model is developed for use in studying the effect of the PV generation to the distribution system. Simulation results show that the addition of the PV system improves the voltage profile of the area by decreasing the power flow from the utility substation. Case studies also show that power quality at the load side is also improved via voltage compensation at the load bus.

  • This paper presents the battery management system(BMS) for the optimum conditions of the lead-Acid battery in UPS. The proposed system control the currents and voltages of battery for optimum conditions to estimate the State Of Charge(SOC) in charge or discharge mode. It proved the performance and the algorithm for the estimation of SOC, through the experiments which using the charge and discharge tester and the field tests.

  • In this paper, we aim to investigate the generalization of ZRC codes by performing performance analysis on various coding rates and channel conditions of Zero Reduction Code (ZRC) for dimming control in VLC system. Simulation results show that the ZRC codes with relatively high coding rate achieve the enhanced BER performance as the RMS (Root Mean Square) delay spread value increases in the NLOS channelse. Therefore, it is expected that the designing of the dimming control technology using ZRC in the future visible light communication system will help to determine the coding rate according to the channel state through the analysis result in this study.
