Noise Evaluation Algorithm for Applying Complex Denoising Technique in On-line Partial Discharge Diagnosis System for Power Apparatus (전력기기의 운전중 부분방전 진단장치에서 복합잡음제거 적용을 위한 잡음평가 알고리즘)

  • This paper introduces an evaluation code, which can numerically express the noise possessing degree of signals. By using this code, the best kind and setting of noise suppressing techniques can be chosen automatically. This code is applied to three kinds of specific denoising techniques; those are simple noise removing method in the count versus phase distribution, fuzzy logic method based on noise type in magnitude versus phase plot, and lastly, the technique using grouping characteristics of PD pulses in 3D plot of magnitude versus phase versus cycle. The algorithm shows good performance in the various real PD signals measured from various high voltage apparatuses in Korea.

Relative Error Analysis for Measuring Value of Ground Resistance according to Position Variation of Potential Probe) (전위보조전극의 위치변화에 따른 접지저항 측정값의 상대오차분석)

  • In this paper, the effects of the position and the angle of the potential probes on the measurements of the ground resistance with the fall-of-potential method are described and the testing techniques to minimize the measuring errors are proposed. The fall-of-potential method is theoretically based on the potential and current measuring principle and the measuring error is primarily caused by the position and angle of auxiliary probes. In order to analyze the relative error for measuring value of ground resistance due to the position of the potential probe, ground resistance were measured in case that the distance of current probe was fixed at 50[m] and the distance of potential probe was located from l0[m] to 50[m]. Also, the potential probe was located at 30[$^{\circ}$], 45[$^{\circ}$], 60[$^{\circ}$], 90[$^{\circ}$] and 180[$^{\circ}$]. As a consequence, relative error decreased with increasing the distance of potential probe and decreasing the angle between current probe and potential probe. The results could be help to determine the position of potential probe when the ground resistance was measured at grounding system.

  • In this paper, we propose a probability method to determine minimum capacity of energy storage system(ESS) for Micro Grid(MG). Because of high capital cost of ESS, it's very important to determine optimal capacity of ESS and for stable operation of MG and we should determine minimum capacity of ESS. The proposed method has abilities to consider forced outage rate of generators and intermittent of non-dispatchable generators and minimum capacity make MG keep energy balancing by oneself.

  • When lightning surges with wide frequency spectrum and power converting devices are considered, it is desirable to evaluate grounding system performance by grounding impedances. This paper presents the measured results for frequency-dependent grounding impedance for the vertical grounding electrode and counterpoise on a scale of full size. Grounding impedances of vertical grounding electrodes and counterpoises give capacitive or inductive behaviors according to the length of grounding electrodes and soil resistivity. It is inefficient to extend the length of the grounding electrode in order to decrease the ground resistance, and when designing the grounding system, the consideration of the grounding impedance should be desirable. In order to reduce the grounding impedance of counterpoise, the grounding conductors are jointed at the center of counterpoises. It is effective to reduce the grounding impedance by connecting ground rods to counterpoises in parallel.

A Proposal on the Development Method of a New Lightning Warning System for Effective Alerts (유효 경보를 위한 새로운 낙뢰 경보시스템의 개발 방법에 대한 제안)

  • We examine the standalone lightning warning system (LWS) and its warning performances for three years. This system acquires and analyzes the data of cloud-to-ground strike (CG), intra-cloud discharge (IC) and electrostatic field (EF) to produce prior warnings with respect to the impending arrival of CG in the area of concern (AOC). The warnings in this system are carried out based on the fixed two areas method. To evaluate warning performances, we analyzed the statistics of warnings with probability of detection (POD) and false alarm ratio (FAR). Based on the previous study, we revised the trigger and clear conditions of lightning warning for improving the performances of the system. As a result of this revision, POD increased from 0.18 to 0.44 and FAR decreased from 0.96 to 0.78 during the summer of 2014. However, the LWS was not possible to trigger effective alerts (EA) because there was no effective lead time (LT) for the fixed two areas method. Problems related to the low detection efficiency of IC and the use of EF data for warnings still decreased POD and increased FAR. Hence, we proposed the development method of a new LWS (NLWS) that would be composed of integrated weather data, the flexible two areas and the user software in order to trigger EA and improve warning performances.

  • The new millennium has started with several innovations driven by fast evolution of the technologies in energy sector. A strong impulse towards the diffusion of new economical efficient technologies regulatory incentives related to energy production from renewable source and a small scale building trigeneration and to promotion of more sustainable environmental-friendly generation solutions, the evolution of electricity markets, more and more binding local emission constraints, and the need for improving the security of supply to reduce the energy system vulnerability. The 24 percentage energy quantify of total energy consumption consumes in commercial buildings and residential houses and the 30% portion of total $CO_2$ emissions covers also in the commercial buildings and residential houses sector. To cope with efficiently this energy sinuation in building sector, Building microgrid or building tooling, heating & power(BCHP) system has been interested in recent day due to meeting thermal and electric energy requirements efficiently and with appropriate energy quality. A multi agent system is a collective of intelligent agents that communicate with each other and work cooperatively to achieve common goals. Also, it is to medicate and coordinate communication between Control Areas and Security Coordinators for teal-time control of the BCHP system and the power pid. In this new circumstance, it is very important to integrate the power and energy delivery system and the information system(communication, networks, and intelligent equipment) that controls it. Therefore, development of smart control modules with open communication protocol and seamlessly interchange the data and information between control network and data network including extranet and intranet give a great meanings. We designed and developed the TCP/IP-CAN IED agent modules and ModBus./LonTalk/(TCP/IP) IED agent ones to configure the multi-agent system based smart energy network of commercial buildings and also intelligent algorithms for inverter fault diagnostics which ran be operated in control level or agent level network.

  • The fluid system such as, the quantity control of raw water, chemicals control in the purification, the waste water system as well as in the feed water or circulation system of the power plant and the ventilation system is controlled with the valve and moter pump. The system's performance and the energy saving of the fluid systems depend on control of method and delicacy. Until, PI controller use in these system but it cannot control delicately because of the coupling in the system loop. In this paper we configure a single flow system to the multi variable system and suggest the application of 2-DOF PID controller and the tuning methods by the neural network to the electrical power of the flow control system. the 2-DOF controller follows to a setpoint has a robustness against the disturbance in the results of simulation.   • In this paper the problems associated with the switching surge of PWM inverter devices were analysed. As the application of ASD for efficient speed control of AC rmtors is increased, so is the rrntor and ASD-related failure increased. In the industrial rmtor awlications, the introduction of PWM drives can sometmes cause insulation breakdown between the phase windings due to high transient voltage peak. The motor cable length combined with the high switching frequency becomes more sensitive issue for proper drive operation. Effects of the cable length and high switching frequency influence both on rmtor and inverter. When the insulation level of rmtor winding is low, the failure probability caused by high peak voltage and fast voltage rise times(dv/dt) is high. Voltage refloctions are simulated far rmtor capacities, ASD and rise times and are presented graphically. The filtering techniques are discussed to reduce the rmtor terminal overvoltage and dv/dt in inverter fed AC rrntor drive systems. We confirmed that the lower motar capacity and rmtar insulation level, the shorter switching time and cable length and the higrer the probability of insulation breakdown .kdown .

  • A high frequency resonant inverter consisting of iliree unit Half-Bridge serial resommt inverter used as power source of induction heatmg at high frequency is presented in this paper. As a output [Dwer control strategy, sequencial time-sharing gate contml methcd is applied. This methcd is TDM(Time Division Multiplexing), which is broadly used with digital and analog signals transmission in communication system 1be analysis of the proposed circuit is generally described by using the normalized pararmenters. Also, the principle of basic operating and the its characteristics are estimated by the parameters such as switching frequency, load resistance. Also, according to the calculated characteristics value, a method of the circuit design and operating characteristics of the inverter is proposed. This paper proves the validity of theoretical analysis through the Pspice. This proposed inverter show that it can be practically used in future as power source system for induction heating application, DC-DC converter etc. r etc.

  • This paper describes the load parallel type full-bridge high frequency resonant inverter can be used as power source. Output control method of proposed circuit is compared with pulse frequency modulation(PFM), pulse width modulation(PWM) and pulse phase variation(Phase-Shift). The analysis of the proposed circuit is generally described by using the normalized parameters. The principle of basic operating and the its characteristics are estimated according to the parameters such as switching frequency(${\mu}$), pulse width($\theta$d) the variation of phase angle($\phi$) by three driving signal patterns. Experimental results are presented to verify the theoretical analysis result. In future, Characteristics by three driving signal control method is provided as useful data in case of output control of a power supply in various fields as induction heating application, DC-DC converter etc.
