Development of a Real-Time Position Tracking System for a Manufacturing Process Based on a UWB Sensor Using a Kalman Filter (칼만필터를 적용한 UWB 센서기반 제조업 조립공정작업의 실시간 위치추적 시스템 개발)

  • Assembly process data can be gathered in real time in a manufacturing execution system (MES) server using proximity sensors, barcodes, RFID, ZigBee, Bluetooth, wireless sensor networks, etc. Although this is suitable for identifying process flow and checking production progress, it is difficult to trace the location of individual workers in real time for missing work or trajectories within the work area. To overcome this, the location and trajectory of the working tool can be analyzed in real time through a position tracking system of an operator's working tool. It can instruct the operator to perform a consistent working process. Productivity and quality improvement can be achieved by an alarming or blocking operator with possible assembly defects during the assembly process in real time. To this end, we developed a real-time tool position-tracking sensor system based on Ultra Wide Band (UWB) trilateration using a Kalman filter to eliminate mechanical vibration and radio communication noise.

  • A robot assembly method which uses configuration and force/torque information of tactile sensor system and performs chamferless peg-in-hole tasks is suggested and experimentally studied. When the robot gripes the peg with random orientation, the realignment of the peg to the hole center line is successfully performed with the gripping configuration information of the tactile sensor and the inverse kinematics of the robot. The force/torque information of the tactile sensor makes it possible to control the contacting force between mating parts during hole search stage. The suggested algorithm employs a hybrid position/force control and the experiments show that the algorithm accomplishes well peg-in-hole tasks with permissible small contacting force. The chamferless peg-in-hole tasks with smaller clearance than the robot repeatibility can be excuted without any loss or deformation of mating parts. This study the possibility of precise and chamferless parts mating by robot and tactile sensor system.

  • This paper presents a method for automatic generation of line balanced assembly sequences based on disassemblability and proposes a method of evaluating an assembly work time using neural networks. Since a line balancing problem in flexible assembly system requires a sophisticated planning method, reasoning about line balanced assembly sequences is an important field of concern for planning assembly lay-out. For the efficient inference of line balanced assembly sequences, many works have been reported on how to evaluate an assembly work time at each work station. However, most of them have some limitations in that they use cumbersome user query or approximated assembly work time data without considering assembly conditions. To overcome such criticism, this paper proposes a new approach to mathematically verify assembly conditions based on disassemblability. Based upon the results, we present a method of evaluating assembly work time using neural networks. The proposed method provides an effective means of solving the line balancing problem and gives a design guidance of planning assembly lay-out in flexible assembly application. An example study is given to illustrate the concepts and procedure of the proposed scheme.

  • 선박용 엔진의 제작에 있어 크랭크 샤프트 조립 시 1 회전의 상태에서 크랭크 스루 간의 디플렉션의 상대값이 정상오차 범위를 넘어서는지 확인한 후 조립상태를 보정하게 된다. 기존의 방법은 다이얼 게이지를 사용하여 측정 담당자가 베드 플레이트 내에 들어가 크랭크 샤프트 회전 시 따라 돌면서 직접 육안 확인을 통해 측정이 이루어졌다. 이 때, 측정의 불편함과 열악한 작업환경 하의 안전 문제가 야기된다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 블루투스 통신을 이용하여 디지털 게이지를 사용한 측정장치 기구부의 신호를 무선으로 받아서 작업자는 베드 플레이트 외부에서 측정이 가능하도록 하는 시스템의 개발하였다. 이를 통해 작업의 편리성 및 안정성을 확보했으며, 디지털 측정을 통한 측정의 정확도를 향상시켰다.

Workload Evaluation of Automobile Assembly Task Using a Posture Classification Schema (작업자세에 의한 자동차 조립작업의 작업부하평가)

  • The association of poor body postures with pains or symptoms of musculoskeletal discorders has been reported by many researchers. An ergonomic evaluation of postural stresses as well as biomechanical stresses is also important especially when a job involves highly repetitive or prolonged poor body postures. The human body is divided into five parts: shoulder/upper arm, lower arm/wrist, back, neck, lower extremities. A work-sampling based macropostural classification system was developed to characterize various postures in this study. Application of the posture classification schema developed in this study to 7 automobile assembly tasks showed that the schema can be used as a tool to didntify the operation and tasks involving highly stressful body postures. This posture classification schema can also be applied as a basis for quantitive evaluating the workload of manual task.

  • 최근 인공위성의 대형화 및 중량화 추세는 종종 기존 설비 내에서의 위성체 조립 및 시험업무의 작업성과 능률성을 심각하게 저해하는 요소로 작용한다. 이에 상기 업무의 원활한 수행을 위해서는 최적화된 설계의 기계지상지원장비(Mechanical Ground Support Equipment, MGSE)의 개발 및 활용이 요구되어지며, 이는 전체 위성개발기간 동안 요구되는 모든 시험 구성, 외부 설비 및 장비와의 인터페이스, 작업자의 동선 및 접근성 등을 종합적으로 고려해야 하는 작업이다. 특히 고해상도 영상안테나와 같이 높은 수준의 정렬 조건이 부과되는 탑재체의 경우 이의 장착, 정렬 및 지상전개시험 등을 위해서는 탑재체 및 위성체의 특성을 고려한 전용 장비의 개발도 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 한국항공우주연구원이 최근 개발한 중대형급 지상관측 영상레이더 위성 개발 과제에 활용된 기계지상지원장비의 설계, 제작 및 운용 방법을 종합적으로 기술하였다.

DACUM Job Analysis of Die and mold makers for Apprenticeship education of Specialized high school (특성화고 산학일체형 도제교육을 위한 금형제작원의 DACUM 직무분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze job of die and mold makers for apprenticeship education of specialized high school using DACUM method. The contents of this study were to identify the duties, specific tasks performed and the level of importance, difficulty, frequency and entry level on each task. This study also make out a DACUM chart of die and mold makers for apprenticeship education of specialized high school. The DACUM committee, which consisted of one facilitator, nine die and mold experts, one recorder and one coordinator, was established to conduct DACUM. The conclusions are as follows; First, this study defines a die and mold makers as 'a person who make it possible to manufacture/assemble/inspect die and mold parts using various machine tool'. Second, duties in job of die and mold makers for apprenticeship education were total 12 and total tasks in job of die and mold makers for apprenticeship education were 86. Third, this study determine the level of importance, difficulty, frequency and entry level about each task. Finally, this study make out a DACUM chart of die and mold makers for apprenticeship education of specialized high school based on the results of DACUM job analysis. And knowledge, skills, tools, and positive behaviors, future trends/concerns about die and mold makers for apprenticeship education of specialized high school were presented.

  • 자동화된 조립 생산분야에서 복잡하거나 정교한 작업을 수행하기 위해 Workcell 안에서 여러개의 디바이스들을 제어할 수 있는 지능적인 제어기를 개발할 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 새롭게 만들어지는 생산 장비의 각 디바이스에서 센서들과 엑츄에이터들을 동시성(Parallelism)과 실시간성(Real timeness)을 고려하여 어떻게 작업 지시를 프로그래밍하는가 하는 문제를 해결하여야 한다. 이를 위해 지금까지 대부분의 장비에서 사용하는 작업 교시 방법들은 특정한 동작을 나타내는 의미 명령어로 구성된 작업을 기술하거나, 사용자 인터페이스를 통해 장비업체가 일방적으로 정한 작업 지시를 입력하는 형태로서 개발되었다.(중략)

  • 최근 일상생활이나 산업현장에서 생산공정의 기계화 또는 자동화로 인하여 수 작업이 많이 감소하였으나 아직도 정형화 되지 못한 물건의 운반, 부품조립 등 위 험요소를 내포한 여러가지 형태로 상지 동작(arm exertion)이 요구되는 인력운반 (manual material handling) 작업이 실제 작업현장에서 행새지고 있는 실정이며, 이러한 작업으로 인해 작업자들의 근골격계 부상으로신체장애의 사례가 늘어나고 있다.

  • In order to show the assembly process in detail, we used Script languages and it's simulation tried to do an automobile assembly process with 3D. 3D View techniques is the method of the optimum which helps the studying activity from industrial site. We developed 3D View in order to show a assembly process with 3D about engine part and tire part. Specially we experimented the user will be able to study actually using touch screen on the working.
