The Education Program Model for the Thinking Extension Ability of the Gifted in Information Based on Game Tree (게임 트리에 기반한 정보영재의 사고력 신장을 위한 교육 프로그램 모형)

  • In this paper, we develop the thinking extension education program for the gifted students of information, and prove the validity and effectiveness of the proposed model by presenting the Tic-tac-toe problem as the practical example of the information-gifted students. This model consists of four phases which has the game tree as data structure and the search of game tree as control structure. And the search of game tree becomes the basis of the thinking extension education program. This model gives the help for students to learn representing the problem as tree structure and solving the problem of tree structure using the search method of game tree. The internal ability of the information-gifted for thinking extension of this education program contains the fluency, perceptiveness, originality, power of concentration, imaginative power, analyzing skills, pattern recognition, space sense, synthesizing, problem-solving.

A Study on Design and Implementation of a VC-Merge Capable LSR on MPLS over ATM (ATM기반 MPLS망에서 확장성을 고려한 VC-Merge 가능한 LSR 설계에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, as Internet and its services grow rapidly, IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force) introduced a new switching mechanism, MPLS(Multi-Protocol Label Switching), to solve the problem of the scalability in Internet backbone. In this paper, we implemented the LSR loaded with VC-merging function, which causes LSR's management cost to be significantly reduced. We propose a new VC-merge function which supports differentiated services. In case of network congestion in the output buffer of each core LSR, appling link polices to the output modules of the LSR using the EPD algorithm can prevent the buffer from being overflowed. Simulation was performed for Diffserv by using multiple traffic models and investigated the impact of VC-merge method compared to non VC-merge method. The proposed switch is modeled in VHDL and fabricated using the SAMSUNG $0.5{\mu}m$ SOG process.

  • actuator system은 조선, 제철, 석유화학 및 중공업 등 다양한 분야에서 각종 유량 및 공기압 등을 제어하는 밸브에 필수적으로 사용되는 핵심 부픔이다. 최근 유정 개발 등 해양구조물 설치 조절이 복잡화 되면서 본 부품이 해양산업에 사용되는 빈도가 증가하고 있다. 이 경우 본 부품이 염분이 많은 바닷물 또는 주변 환경에 직접 노출되기 때문에 내식성이 매우 엄격하게 관리되고 있다. 본 부품에 부식이 발생할 경우 control system의 작동을 지배하는 구성 품에 부식이 발생하여 actuator로서 기능을 상실하여 오동작이나 설비 가동이 중단되는 사례가 빈번하다. 현재 본 부품의 내식성 향상을 위해서는 금속기 표면에 페인트를 사용하는 방법이 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 방법이다. 이 경우 금속 표면과 도장 면과의 사이에 기포발생이나 이물질 유입 등으로 인한 밀착성이 감소되거나 blister 등으로 인하여 도장 코팅 면이 박리되는 사례가 빈번하다. 이를 방지하기 위해서 최근 고 밀착성 내식용 도장 방법을 적용하고 있으나, 이 방법으로 도장한 부품의 표면에 충격 등으로 인한 결함이 발생할 경우 pitting corrosion 등 급격한 부식이 발생하여 이에 대한 근본족인 대책 수립이 절실한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 근본적으로 금속기 표면과 밀착성이 우수한 화성피막 용액을 이용하여 희생양극에 의한 내식성을 확보하고, 다양한 용도에 적합한 색상 도료를 화성피말 위에 적용하여 화성피막 층의 보호 및 actuator의 목적에 맞는 도장을 하였다. 희생 양극효과를 극대화 할 수 있는 최적 화성피막 층은 $15{\mu}m$이며 이때 1,000시간 이상의 내식성을 확보하였다. 이 경우 이론적인 내식 수명은 2년으로 추정할 수 있었다.

Effect of Pretreated Seawater Quality on SDI in SWRO Desalination Process (SWRO 해수담수화 공정에서 전처리된 수질조건이 SDI에 미치는 영향)

  • Pretreatment process is the critical step of RO (Reverse Osmosis) membrane desalination plant in order to prevent RO membrane fouling. The pretreatment as a key component of RO process must be designed to produce a constant and high quality RO feedwater which has low silt density index (SDI). This experiment was conducted to assess parameters affecting SDI value, such as pH, seawater turbidity, temperature, and coagulant dose. The experimental results indicated that the source seawater turbidity did cause little effects on SDI values of filtered water. The 0.45 um hydrophilic membrane was more appropriate than the hydrophobic membrane for measuring SDI. The SDI value was increased with decreasing pH under the condition of below pH 7.0. In addition, the water temperature significantly affected the SDI values, showing higher SDI value with lower water temperature.

  • We present a method to reproduce in-between views from captured stereo images to control depth feeling that a user can perceive on a 3D display. The stereo images captured from a pair of cameras have a fixed viewpoint and a screen parallax which depend on the physical position and the distance between the cameras. In this paper, we produce stereo images of an intermediate viewpoint between two original cameras by a view interpolation on the input stereo images. Furthermore, the camera separation of the reproduced stereo images can be controlled by a linear interpolation coefficient used by the view interpolation. By using the proposed method, stereo images can be reproduced where the depth feeling and a three dimensional effect is suitable for the individual's eye separation or the characteristic of an application.

  • The ability of an automated driving system is based on vehicle sensors, judgment and control algorithms, etc. The safety of automated driving system is highly related to the operational status of the road network and compliant road infrastructure. The safe operation of automated driving necessitates continuous monitoring to determine if the road and traffic conditions are suitable and safe. This paper presents a node and link system to build a road monitoring system by considering the ODD(Operational Design Domain) characteristics. Considering scalability, the design is based on the existing ITS standard node-link system, and a method for expressing the monitoring target as a node and a link is presented. We further present a technique to classify and manage hazard risk into five levels, and a method to utilize node and link information when searching for and controlling the optimal route. Furthermore, we introduce an example of system implementation based on the proposed node and link system for Sejong City.

Hardware Abstraction Architecture for Low Cost Flash Memories in Wireless Sensor Nodes (무선 센서 노드상의 저가형 플래시 메모리를 위한 하드웨어 추상화 구조)

  • In this parer, we propose a hardware abstraction architecture(HAA) for low cost flash memories that can be applicable to wireless sensor nodes. The proposed HAA consists of three layers. The three layers are 1) HHL(Hardware Interlace Layer), HAL(Hardware Adaption Layer), and HPL(Hardware Presentation Layer), where HIL provides a platform independent interlace to applications of upper layers, HAL performs hardware resource management, program status control, and generation of logical instructions as main core of the HAA, and HPL initializes hardware and communicates data between MCU and flash memory. We implemented our HAA on AT45DB flash memory, and the HAA used 4,384 bytes program memory and 195 bytes data memory respectively. Since the proposed HAA is composed of well defined three layers and shows a low utilization of memory, it can provides a high efficiency in terms of flexibility, scalability, and re-usability, and thus the HAA is well suited for wireless sensor nodes.

  • Recently, reinforcement learning has been used to improve the communication performance of flying ad-hoc networks (FANETs) and to design mobility models. Mobility model is a key factor for predicting and controlling the movement of unmmaned aerial vehicle (UAVs). In this paper, we designed and analyzed the performance of Q-learning with fourier basis function approximation and Deep-Q Network (DQN) models for optimal path finding in a three-dimensional virtual environment where UAVs operate. The experimental results show that the DQN model is more suitable for optimal path finding than the Q-learning model in a three-dimensional virtual environment.

Rainfall Distribution Characteristics of Artificial Rainfall System for Steep-Slope Collapse Model Experiment (급경사지 붕괴 모의실험을 위한 인공강우장치의 강우분포특성)

  • An artificial rainfall system is used widely as a research tool for generating model experiment data. Artificial rainfall devices have been used in many studies, but studies of the rainfall distribution are not considered as important issues. To simulate various rainfall characteristics, it should be possible to simulate from low to high intensity, and the homogeneity of the rainfall distribution should be ensured. In this study, the maximum rainfall intensity was set to 130mm/hr and controlled by 10mm/hr. In addition, the aim was to secure a uniform coefficient value of 80% or more. To this end, rainfall tests were performed according to the nozzle type, diameter, position, and pump pressure. The rainfall test showed that the circular nozzle was suitable, and the nozzle size was 1.9mm and 1.4mm. The optimal pump pressure was found to be 3~6kg/㎠. The rainfall intensity tended to increase linearly with increasing pump pressure. Based on the rainfall test results, a rainfall control manual was produced with variables, such as pump pressure, nozzle type, and number of nozzles. As a result of rainfall verification, rainfall intensity showed a 3.1% error with a uniformity coefficient of 86%.
