We proposed a new level shifter circuit architecture. The prposed circuit can provide high output voltage upto 15V by taking 3.3V logic signal compared to the conventional level shifter. The unposed circuit has compatible speed, low power consumption and chip size. We have confirmed the operation by conducting HSPICE simulation.

To determine the effect of ERp57 expression on thrombopoiein (TPO) productivity in recombinant Chinese hamster ovary (rCHO) cells, TPO producing rCHO cell line with doxycycline-regulated ERp57 expression \Vas developed. The Erp57 expression level could be regulated by addition of different concentrations of doxycycline to culture medium. The doxycycline concentration of I ${\mu}g/mL$ was high enough to suppress the ERp57 expression. Up to 5 ${\mu}g/mL$ doxycycline concentration used in culture medium, no observable cytotoxic effect of doxycycline was detected during culture. Overexpression of ERp57 、 vas found to increase the specific TPO productivity ($q_{Tpo}$) without growth inhibition, probably due to the chaperone-like activity of ERp57 in CHO cells.

황사는 중국의 발원지와 가까우면서 풍하측에 위치한 우리나라와 일본을 비롯한 동북아시아에 가장 큰 영향을 주고 있으므로 이 지역을 중심으로 황사에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 최근 중국 건조지대의 기온 증가, 강수량 감소로 인한 사막화 현상과 삼림감소 등의 영향으로 황사현상의 발생빈도는 계속 증가하고 있으며, 특히 중국의 급속한 경제성장 및 산업화로 인해 배출된 다량의 오염물질이 황사와 섞여 함께 수송되므로 그 피해는 훨씬 심각하다. 현재 이러한 황사의 발생원인뿐만 아니라 수송 및 침적과정과 관련된 기상요소 및 종관기상학적 특성을 비교ㆍ분석하는 실질적인 연구방향과 이를 바탕으로 한 황사현상의 장거리수송모델 및 배출량 산정과 관련된 연구 또한 활발히 진행되고 있다. The paper describes MPEG-2 encoder system developed by ETRI. The encoder system consists of video encoder, audio encoder and program multiplexer. The system can be used as an SDTV encoder as well as a sub-picture encoding module of an HDTV encoder. In order to reduce the hardware size and increase the system reliability, most parts of the MPEG-2 encoding algorithm are implemented with ASIC chips except the rate control part. The developed system is compliant with MPEG-2 and ATSC.

Osteoarthrosis was induced in rabbit knees through resecton of anterior cruciate ligament. Sodium hyaluronate (1%) was administerated into articular space at the dose levels of 0.1 mg/kg once a week using 1ml sylinge and 26G needle for test groups. Saline was administrated for control groups. After 6 and 12 weeks, animals were sacrificed to conduct macroscopic observation and histopathologic examination. The articular lesions were evaluated and test groups were compared with control groups. No significant differencies were showed between test groups and control groups at macroscopic observation in both 6- and 12- week groups. In histopathologic examination, control groups showed higher osteoarthrosis than test groups. The articular surfaces of control groups showed fibrillation, denudation, pannus formation and hypocellularity. The articular surfaces of test groups showed fibrillaton and hypercellularity. These indicate that sodium hyaluronate has inhibitory effects on osteoarthrosis at least in rabbit and could be used for treatment of osteoarthrosis.

Management of postoperative tarsal tunnel syndrome is a perplexing problem to the surgeons. Autogenous vein wrapping graft is a effective method to decompress the tarsal tunnel. We treated 2 cases of postoperative tarsal tunnel syndrome with autogenous saphenous vein wrapping graft technique, and could get good results. Autogenous vein wrapping graft seems to be a good technique for tarsal tunnel syndrome with severe adhesion, particularly after surgery, and postoperative nerve adhesion can be prevented.

Three-dimensional flow through a tubular centrifugal fan with airfoil type blades is analyzed, and the effects of turbulence model and numerical scheme on the results are investigated. Standard $k-{\epsilon}$ model and k - w model are tested as turbulence closures. The numerical schemes for convection terms, i.e., Upwind Differencing Scheme (UDS), Mass Weighted Skewed upstream differencing scheme (MWS), Linear Profile Skewed upstream differencing scheme (LPS), and Modified Linear Profile Skewed upstream differencing scheme (MLPS) are also tested, and the performances of these schemes coupled with two turbulence models are evaluated. The static pressure distributions are compared with experimental data obtained in this work, which shows that the $k-{\epsilon}$ model gives better results than the k-w model.

A web-based program life-cycle management(PLM) system is introduced to implement the system engineering processes and to provide the development teaceability online. This information system aims for the realization of essential system engineering management techniques currently applied to the space launch system development program including management of configuration and data based on the work breakdown structure(WBS), WBS, bill of materials and properties. The system enhances communication and gives access to the development data with relevant information such as data-to-data relation and approval status/history through the web, and preserve all of the development data throughout the program life-cycle. Further improvement of the system is planned to implement the program managrment pricesses and to provide integrated information useful for the programmatic decision making.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is one of the major neurodegenerative diseases that involves degeneration at all levels of the motor system- from the cortex to the anterior horn of the spinal cord. Patients with ALS often have difficulty of ambulation for dental treatment though they have poor oral hygiene state. General anesthesia may cause respiratory problem due to its high sensitivity to muscle relaxant and weakened upper airway. In this case report, 38-year-old female patient with ALS required many dental treatments. Conscious sedation with intravenous target controlled infusion method was successfully employed and patient was discharged without any complications.

The faunistic study on the spiders (Arachnida, Araneae) from Quito and Galapagos Islands was carried out from 1st to 18th Aug. 2000. During the survey period, 50 species of 48 genera belonging to 22 families (include 1 undetermined species) were identified from 562 collecting individuals. The dominant family was Araneidae (Gasteracantha cancriformis : 32% of total species). The species of settling spiders were richer than those of hunting spiders among the identified spiders. The author redescribes and figures in detail Gasteracantha cancriformis, which was collected during a field trip of Quito and Galapagos Islands.
