  • Seowon is an educational institution of Neo-Confucianism in the Joseon Dynasty and is distributed throughout the country. Such a Seowon has a certain form in the composition and arrangement of buildings. Korean Seowon were recognized as excellent for localization by transforming them according to the local environment. Therefore, it was registered as a World Heritage Site. Museongseowon is located in the village differently from the 8 registered Seowons. However, data and research on the location setting and architectural composition of MuseongSeowon are insignificant, so related research is needed. Therefore, in this study, the appearance of the period when MuseongSeowon was equipped with architectural formality was investigated. This study compared the appearance of MuseongSeowon in Chilkwong-do drawn in 1910 and the present appearance, focusing on the Ganghak area. As a result, the architectural composition of the Seowon was similar to the present appearance after the revision of the Gangdang area in Chilkwong-do. Therefore, the present architectural composition of the Seowon appears to be the same as before 1900. In addition, the location and appearance of Heunghakjae and Myeonamsa, which were currently lost in the Gangsujae area, were partially derived. It seems that seowon played a central role in the village even after 1910. Also, since it is located in the village, the building seems to have a flexible spatial composition.

  • During the Japanese colonial period, Japan exploited the entire Korean Peninsula and targeted not only cities but also rural areas. The exploitation of rural area was accelerated with the support of Oriental colonization Company and The countryside was a living scene of direct exploitation. However, most of the research was concentrated in representative port cities such as Kunsan, which transports logistics such as rice and grains. There was insufficient research on how Japanese entered the country, how Korean were plundered, and the rural villages that were the target of exploitation. The contents of hi-exploitation were also historical and historical humanities such as colonial land ownership and farm management, and the spatial structure of the existing traditional villages were insufficiently investigated. Hwaho-ri, Shin Taein-eup, Jeollabuk-do, centered on Yongseo Village, there are many traces of farm houses, hospitals, employee residences, schools, churches, and Oriental colonization Company This study aims to study what changes traditional rural villages have brought by the Japanese colonial rule, centering on Hwaho-ri Village.

  • To investigate the feeding habits of the Kaloula borealis, the stomach contents of 52 out of 56 specimens collected around Daejung-up, Jeju Island in June 2011 were studied. The stomach contents were analyzed with the stomach flushing method. According to the results, the main preys of the Kaloula borealis were Diptera sp., Harpalidae, Formicidae and Drosophilidae. the Kaloula borealis of all sizes fed on small preys, while individuals with large SVL fed on big preys. By feeding on a large amount of food with a small number of activities, the individuals with large SVL is considered to enhance energy efficiency. In many cases, the Kaloula borealis fed on Diptera sp. or Drosophilidae, which are slow but active and capable of flying. As a result, the Kaloula borealis take the sit-and-wait form of preying rather than actively searching for food. The results of this research on feeding habits of the Kaloula borealis will provide valuable resources to protect the endangered Kaloula borealis experiencing a sharp decline in their population and to prepare plans for population preservation strategies for them.

  • Using skeletochronology in the Daejung-eup, Jeju, we determined the age structure of Kaloula borealis. The study was performed during the breed season in June 2009. We measured the snout-vent length(SVL) and body weigth(BW) and analyzed the age structure of 38 male and 58 female frogs. The mean value of SVL is $43.69{\pm}3.44mm$ in males and $46.32{\pm}4.23mm$ in females. The age at first reproduction was estimated to be 2 years of age in males and 3 years in females. The oldest males and females were 8 and 10 years of age, respectively. Therefore, the longevity in this species was estimated to be more than 8 years for males and 10 years for females. So, females live longer than males. Also, this difference between the male and the female in age structure was significant. We estimated the growth curve for Kaloula borealis using von Bertalanffy growth model. The growth coefficient (K) was 0.56 in male and 0.41 in female. The asymptotic size was 46.41 mm in male and 50.22 mm in female.

  • The purposes of this research are to examine the effect of child care-work ability program; improve efficacy of child care, infant teacher's role performance, and infant teachers' sensitivity about demanding of infants by doing education of improving efficacy of child care, role performance and infant teachers' sensitivity at the nursery center. The subjects of this research are 44 child-care teachers from Jungup city. They are divided into 22 teachers in experiment group and 22 teachers in control group. And teachers answered questionnaires as either pre-test or post-test for evaluating efficacy of child care, and teacher's role performance, and teachers' sensitivity. There are the results of this research. Efficacy of child care, infant teacher's role performance and sensitivity of experimental group members who participated in child care-work ability program significantly increased comparing to its control group members. Finally, we could prove the effect of program which was carried out to child care teachers on improving efficacy of child care, infant teacher's role performance and sensitivity.

  • Snowfall is an important natural hazard in Korea. In recent years, the socioeconomic importance of impact-based forecasts of meteorological phenomena have been highlighted. To further develop forecasts, we first need to analyze the climatic characteristics of each region. In this study, homogeneous regions for snowfall analysis were classified using a self-organizing map for impact-based forecast and warning services. Homogeneous regions of snowfall were analyzed into seven clusters and the characteristics of each group were investigated using snowfall, observation days, and maximum snowfall. Daegwallyeong, Gangneung-si, and Jeongeup-si were classified as areas with high snowfall and Gyeongsangdo was classified as an area with low snowfall. Comparison with previous studies showed that representative areas were well distinguished, but snowfall characteristics were found to be different. The results of this study are of relevance to future policy decisions that use impact-based forecasting in each region.

  • This study was carried out to reduce the number of chemical treatment by optimal apply for the disease and pest and obtain the basal data of environmental-friendly cultivation in Panax ginseng in 2006. The result by checking disease Incidence and pests fried in ginseng field of jeollabuk-Do was as follows. The kind of disease occurred in Jinan was 8 including Rhizoctonia solani, 7 with Botrytis cinerea in Jeongeup, and also 6 with Botrytis cinerea in Kochang within Jeollabuk-Do. It was required thorough disease control before the rainy season because the occurrence time was peaked around July. Also, the most serious disease in Jeollabuk-Do was Alternaria alternata, Botrytis cinerera, and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. The actual harmful pests in ginseng field were Asusta despecta steboldiana and Holotrichia sp. and in other method using black light trap, Maladera orientalis, Ostrinia furnacalis, and Holotrichia morosa were mainly trapped.

  • Anthracnose occurred in bitter gourd grown in Jeongup areas of Korea in 2011. Anthracnose of bitter gourd appeared as dark brown circular spots on naturally infected leaves and fruits. The symptoms of infected leaves and fruits were small brown to dark brown spots and gradually enlarged to larger cylindrical dark brown lesions. The causal fungus of anthracnose isolated from the diseased plants was identified as Colletotrichum gloeosporioides based on the morphological and cultural characteristics and ITS rDNA sequence analysis. All isolates of C. gloeosporioides produced symptoms on the host leaves by artificial inoculation. This is the first report of anthracnose on bitter gourd caused by C. gloeosporioides in Korea.
