Development of Deep Recognition of Similarity in Show Garden Design Based on Deep Learning (딥러닝을 활용한 전시 정원 디자인 유사성 인지 모형 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a method for evaluating the similarity of Show gardens using Deep Learning models, specifically VGG-16 and ResNet50. A model for judging the similarity of show gardens based on VGG-16 and ResNet50 models was developed, and was referred to as DRG (Deep Recognition of similarity in show Garden design). An algorithm utilizing GAP and Pearson correlation coefficient was employed to construct the model, and the accuracy of similarity was analyzed by comparing the total number of similar images derived at 1st (Top1), 3rd (Top3), and 5th (Top5) ranks with the original images. The image data used for the DRG model consisted of a total of 278 works from the Le Festival International des Jardins de Chaumont-sur-Loire, 27 works from the Seoul International Garden Show, and 17 works from the Korea Garden Show. Image analysis was conducted using the DRG model for both the same group and different groups, resulting in the establishment of guidelines for assessing show garden similarity. First, overall image similarity analysis was best suited for applying data augmentation techniques based on the ResNet50 model. Second, for image analysis focusing on internal structure and outer form, it was effective to apply a certain size filter (16cm × 16cm) to generate images emphasizing form and then compare similarity using the VGG-16 model. It was suggested that an image size of 448 × 448 pixels and the original image in full color are the optimal settings. Based on these research findings, a quantitative method for assessing show gardens is proposed and it is expected to contribute to the continuous development of garden culture through interdisciplinary research moving forward.

A Study on Proper Employment Size of Korea Coast Guard (해양경찰청의 적정 인력규모에 관한 연구)

  • This study aimed to find a proper size of Korea Coast Guard. To attain this goal, this study constructed an experimental standard quota model then calculated the proper number of employees of Korea Coast Guard, The findings of the analysis can be summarized as follows: The formula of the model constructed through reviewing related literature is as folllows: Y(manpowers) = constant + (B $\times$ the number of crimes committed) + (B $\times$ the expenditure in the general account) + (B $\times$ the number of Korea Coast Guard vessels). The proper employment size of Korea Coast Guard calculated using the model was 7,369.

Development of the Cyber University's Admission Quota Policy Model (사이버대학 학생정원 관리모형 개발)

  • The Korea Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST) determines admission quota of cyber universities. MEST's decision is made based on each university's physical and administrative capacity for handling admission numbers. However, the unique characteristics of cyber universities (e.g., online teaching and learning environments) are not considered in MEST's current decision process. MEST also lacks specifics in their policies that are required to ensure university's autonomous control for admission number as well as learners' rights and quality assurance. This study intended to improve decision making process on admission quota of cyber universities so as to increase quality assurance of education. The alternative admission quota decision frameworks have been formulated based on (a) the analysis of the current practices of cyber universities, (b) focus group interviews, and (c) recommendations of the expert.

The model of the weighted proportion estimation for forecasting the number of population (인구추계를 위한 가중비례추정모형)

  • The purpose of this paper is to suggest the methods of forecasting the numbers of students. The generalized weighted proportion estimation models are suggested and used for forecasting the numbers of student until 2029. The results of the Monte Carlo simulation show that the suggested method is powerful for the forecasting. In conclusion, the numbers of the third grade high-school students will be less than the numbers of college admission quota from 2019.

  • 현재 국내에서는 단주기파의 항내에서의 다중반사를 고려할 수 있는 항내정온도 모형으로 Copeland(1985)의 모형을 개선한 한국해양연구소의 수치모형(한국해양연구소, 1987)과 Maruyama와 Kajima(1985)의 수치모형이 사용되고 있다. 이 수치모형들은 반무한방파제 후면의 회절이나 이안제 후면의 회절 등에 대해서는 수리실험이나 이론해와 비교되었으나 항만과 같이 다중반사가 발생하는 풍우에 대해서는 비교ㆍ검증이 부족하였다. (중략)

  • 최근들어 광범위한 지역의 삼차원 국토정보 취득을 위한 고해상도 위성영상의 센서모형화 기법에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. IKONOS나 SPOT 5호와 같은 고해상도 위성영상의 모형화에 앞서 본 연구에서는 각종 응용분야에서 광범위하게 활용되고 있는 SPOT 3호 위성영상을 대상으로 지상기준점을 이용하여 경사촬영(off-nadir viewing)각을 추정하는 기법을 개발하였다. 추정된 경사촬영각은 영상좌표를 보정하는데 사용되었으며 2차원 부등각사상변환을 이용하여 기존의 모형화 방법 보다 간결하고 정확도가 향상된 모형화 기법을 제안하였다. 또한, 기존의 엄밀 센서 모형화 방법을 대체하고 있는 위성영상의 센서모형화를 위한 다양한 방법들이 제안되고 있기 때문에, 2차원 부등각사상변환, 직접선형변환(DLT), 자체검정-DLT(SDLT)등의 추상화된 모형화 방법을 SPOT 위성영상에 대해 기준점 수의 변화에 따라 검사점을 이용하여 수평성분, 수직성분으로 나누어 정확도를 비교 분석하였다.

Suggestions on the Types of the Distribution of Gardens for the Overseas Establishment of Traditional Korean Gardens - Oriented the Garden which is Applicable to the Open Space - (한국전통정원 해외조성을 위한 정원보급 유형 제안 - 공공 공간에 적용될 정원을 대상으로 -)

  • This study aims to establish the identity of traditional Korean gardens and develop a universal way for overseas Koreans and foreigners to have an appropriate understanding of traditional Korean gardens, as part of efforts to distribute and promote the overseas establishment of traditional Korean gardens. The focus of this study is on developing planning and design guidelines to ensure that traditional Korean gardens have individuality when they are established overseas and on establishing directional rules for planners. Although traditional Korean gardens may vary in form according to their purposes and spatial scales, the most important thing is that they should incorporate emotions that are well-matched with Korean landscapes and that their design language should be easily recognizable and understandable to everyone. The basic spatial types of traditional Korean gardens for overseas establishment, which are presented in this study, include the exhibition(fair) type, the garden type and the park type. These basic types serve as prototypes that correspond to the purposes of the gardens. In consideration of the spatial scale, the exhibition(fair) type is set as the minimum unit for composition, and suggested basic facilities include trees, a well, a pond and an island in the pond, flower beds and fences. The results of this study have significance as basic information for planning and designing traditional Korean gardens for overseas establishment.
