The aim of this study was to investigate the users' behaviour when interacting with elements based on XML documents retrieval system and develop approaches for XML retrieval which are effective in user-based environment. We followed the experimental guidelines from the INEX 2006 iTrack organizers. For the research goals, 16 responses from the questionnaires per subject and system logs were collected and analyzed using Excel and SPSS 17.0.

This paper describes a fault diagnosis method by a T-invariance of Petri Net (PN). First, a complicated fault system with some failure is modeled into a PN graphic expressions. Next, the PN model is analyzed by using the backward chaining of T-invariance to find out causes of the faults. In this step, an inter-node search technique which is suggested in this paper is applied for reducing searching area in the fault system. Also, a novel idea to compose incidence matrices which have different dimension each other in PN model is proposed. As the new knowledges which is discovered newly about faults can be added easily to conventional systems, the diagnosis system will be very flexible. Finally, the proposed method is applied to the automobile fault diagnosis system to confirm the validity of the method.

Petri nets have been introduced as a powerful analyzing and design tool for the discrete systems such as sequential control systems. However, one of the important problems in its applications is that the model can be analyzed hardly when we deal with large scale systems because of increase of the number of Petri net components. To overcome this problem, some methods for dividing or reducing of Petri net have been suggested. In this paper, an approach for hierarchical expression of Petri net based on Sequential function Chart(SFC) and Bottom Up oriented Mehodology(BUM) is proposed. Especially, some definitions and rules are defined in order to divide and compose sub Petri nets. A measuring tank system will be described as a typical kind of discrete systems and modeled by some sub Petri nets based on the SFC and BUM by the proposed method in this paper.

Hypertext system is a new type of electronic information system which offers users great freedom in writing and reading electronic documents. Hypertext means non-linear or non-sequential text, which consists of a collection of nodes connected by links. Nodes may contain segments of text, video images, and sound. In this paper, the concept and characteristics of hypertext are reviewed, components of hypertext are explored in detail, and Guide is illustrated with application examples.

Needs for up-to-date research information in various academic and research organizations are rapidly increasing in our country. It requires that researchers utilize worldwide information networks such as Internet to obtain recent information. In this study, various information searching tools and services available on Internet are investigated and information resources, especially scholarly resources, are explored using WAIS, WWW. Gopher, and OPACs. These information resources are analyzed to evaluate the value of Internet as a research network.

텍스트 범주화에 관한 선행연구에서 자주 사용되면서 좋은 성능을 보인 자질 선정 기법은 문헌빈도와 카이제곱 통계량 등이다. 그러나 이들은 단어 자체가 갖고 있는 모호성은 제거하지 못한다는 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 kNN 분류기를 이용한 범주화 실험에서 단어간의 상호 관련성이 자동적으로 유도됨으로써 단어 자체 보다는 단어의 개념을 분석하는 잠재의미색인 기법을 자질 선정 방법으로 제안한다.

A prototype model of intelligent information retrieval system is presented with the definition of intelligent information retrieval. An intelligent information retrieval system for Korean documents was designed, and the system was implemented with Turbo Prolog 2.0 and Turbo Pascal 5.5. The characteristics of the system include natural language interface, user modeling, automatic indexing by case relationship, and multiple retrieval techniques.

대학에서 실행되고 있는 정보활용능력 교육에 따른 학습자의 정보활용능력에 대한 자가인식의 변화는 학습자의 특성에 따라 차이가 나타날 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 정보활용능력 교육의 효과에 영향에 미치는 학습자의 영향 요인을 조사 분석하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 목적을 위해, D 대학의 한 학기 교양과목으로 개설되고 있는 정보활용능력 교육 프로그램을 대상으로 해당과목 수강생 47명의 정보활용능력에 대한 자가 인식을 교육전과 교육후의 질문지법을 통해 그 변화를 조사 분석하고 이들 학습자의 개인적인 특성을 파악하였다. 학습자의 특성에는 인구통계학적인 특성 이외에 유사 교육 프로그램 경험 유무, 도서관에 대한 인식 등이 조사되었다. 정보활용능력에 대한 자가 인식을 측정하기 위한 문항들은 ACRL의 고등 교육자를 위한 정보활용능력 평가기준을 참조하였고 사용된 분석도구는 Excel과 SPSS 17.0이다.

오늘날과 같은 정보통신 발달의 시대에서 정보 전달의 신속성과 접근성을 보장하는 것은 정보서비스 기관의 경쟁력 강화에 매우 중요한 일이다. 마이크로 블로깅을 제공하는 서비스 중 하나인 트위터는 web 2.0 서비스의 대표주자로 시 공간을 초월한 도서관 정보서비스의 신속성과 접근성을 지원하는 강력한 도구로 부상하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 국내외 도서관의 트위터를 중심으로 마이크로 블로깅을 활용한 정보서비스 적용사례를 조사하고 이와 같은 신기술 적용 활성화를 위한 시사점을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구에서 조사한 사례는 미국 의회도서관, 미국 뉴욕 공공도서관, 영국 국립 도서관, 국내의 국립중앙도서관 디브러리, 포항공대 도서관인 포스텍 도서관 이고 주요하게 트위터의 수치적인 현황, 활용 목적, 내용, 이용하는 인터페이스 측면들을 조사 분석하였다.

학제적 분야는 다양한 주제범주의 자료를 이용하는 특성이 존재하기 때문에 대학도서관이나 전문도서관에서는 학제적 분야에 대한 새로운 학술지 관리방안이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 SCIE 논문을 발표한 국내 연구자들의 인용패턴을 바탕으로 저널 인용분석과 학제성 분석을 실시하여 학제적 분야의 학술지 관리 방안을 도출하였다. 본 연구를 통해 인용률 기반의 학제성 분석이 기존의 인용빈도를 바탕으로 한 방법과 함께 학제적 분야의 학술지를 관리하는 데 있어 유용함을 확인하였다.
